I got that off of a comp about ten years ago called Give Him the Boot from Hellcat Recordings. And Chris Murray's playing Wednesday, April 30th alongside the Delirians and the Steady 45s at the Echoplex. Sounds pretty fun. Chris Murray always brings it. And there's a bunch of Los Angeles bands there, too. That's pretty cool. Prior to that, we heard the great William Bell, I Forgot to Be Your Lover. I also got that off of a collection. The RZA presents Shaolin Soul Selections, Volume 1. The RZA put that out on his own label. And basically, just as a double album collection of tunes that were sort of inspiration to Wu-Tang and to him. You'll hear some familiar. Little nuggets in there because they've been used as samples and such. The RZA presents Shaolin Soul Selections, Volume 1. Giving a hint to another one coming out at some time. That tune is actually composed by Booker T. Jones, I Forgot to Be Your Lover by William Bell. Before that, we heard new music from Little Dragon. The tune is called Paris. That's from their upcoming album. It's due out mid-May, the 13th or so. Called Nabuma Rubberband. Out on the 7-4 Entertainment label. Starting off the set with the Mighty Scepters out of the UK. Cornwall to be exact. Sirens Call is the name of the tune. And it's their debut single. And it's out on Ubiquity Records. Check out the Ubiquity label. I think tonight's a Ubiquity Records heavy show, just coincidentally. Man, they put out a lot of good stuff. A lot of good contemporary stuff. The Mighty Scepters are one of those bands that tries to stick to as much analog recordings and vintage instruments as they can. To achieve sort of an authentic sound. Sounds like they nailed it.
