What's up?
Los Angeles and beyond.
This is Neighborhood Love Radio.
My name is Johnny Scott Gramercy.
Loved ones, we are the musical extension of neighborhood-love.com.
Tonight, doing something a little bit different.
Loved ones, if you, uh...
I don't want this show to be about me.
I'm just playing music for people, that's all.
But undeniably...
Los Angeles culture, street culture.
Like...
Pendletons.
Skateboards.
Rehearsing with their thrash band in a hot, sweaty garage.
That's a part of my Los Angeles.
So from time to time, from show to show, occasionally I might want to play a different type of music.
So I hope you enjoy this.
I hope you enjoy this.

Started off the set with akimbo, some Seattle hardcore thrash.
They formed in 1998 as a high school band.
Akimbo, Rock This Monster was the name of that tune from the Forging Steel and Laying Stone LP out on the alternative Tenicle's label.
The second song in the set was Honduran from Portland Oregon.
Ben Bratt is the name of that tune from the street.
Eole's album out last year.
Out on Eolean Empire.
Third in the set was a legendary Poison Idea.
Changed my mind about hardcore in general.
Before that I was just into kind of just suburban melodic stuff.
Poison Idea just kind of kicked that door wide open.
Out of the Picture was the name of the song from the King of Punk record in 1986.
Also from Portland, Oregon.
Out of Northwest stuff.
Not intentional.
The King of Punk record was out on the Puss Mort label.
From the Northwest down south to North Carolina for Corrosion of Conformity.
Lost for words.
Saw them five, eight hundred times back in the 80s.
Talkin' Balboa Theater.
Talkin' Olympic Auditorium.
Talkin' about Fender's Ballroom.
Many times I saw that band.
That was out on the Metal Blade record.
I think their sub at the time was called Death Records back in the 80s.
But it was still owned by Metal Blade.
And I think there's only Metal Blade records this time.
Maybe mistaken about that.
Wrapped up the set with Amen.
Koma America was the name of the song.
Featuring vocals by KC Chaos.
And if I'm not mistaken, Sonny and Tumor from the band Snot.
Were on that record on the eponymously titled record Amen.
That brings us up right to present time.
Right here, right now, you and me.
Behind me here, the Budos band.
Black Hills is the name of the song.
Brand new this year from the burnt off.
Offering record.
So...
The good one, man.
From front to back.
Burnt Offering from the Budos band is the name of the record.
I hope you're niddickin' it so far.
Loved Ones Neighborhood Love Radio is the...
Mostly about the street sounds.
Soul, funk, reggae.
But tonight...
Let's just say I got a wild hair.
I wanted to represent...
Everything that Los Angeles has to offer.
And so tonight we're just...
We're turning the pages in that particular chapter.
Wanna hear some more tunes?
How about Unperson's, one of my favorites.

Red Fang also from the Northwest from their self-titled debut.
Bird on a Wire is the name of the tune that I'm going to play on the Sergeant House record label.
Red Fang's playing December 9th at the Palladium with Opeth and In Flames.
The first up, Unpersons.
Enjoy.

The Incomparable Pig Destroyer.
That's about as much of a crossover sound as we've ever gotten from them, at least until this last record this year.
This is Wicker Man.
This next band is called Wicker Man.
They're from Chicago.
Hope you dig it.
Wicker Man I wanna sink Far into hell I'm out of breath Cause I can't even break out, yeah I'm gonna die right here I'm gonna sink or swim I'm gonna die right here I'm gonna live the pain That I really did I'm gonna numb my senses So I don't say my trade I'm gonna die right here So I don't snap like a twig So I don't snap like a twig I'm gonna snap like a twig I'm gonna snap like a twig I'm gonna die right here I'm gonna sink or swim I'm gonna die right here I'm gonna stand like a train I'm gonna stand like a train I'm gonna stand like a train I'm gonna stand like a train I'm gonna stand like a train I'm gonna stand like a train I'm gonna stand like a train I'm gonna stand like a train I'm gonna stand like a train I'm gonna stand like a train I'm gonna stand like a train I'm gonna stand like a train I know what you...
I know what you...
Refreshingly gimmick-free, that band is.
Bird on Fire is the name of the tune from their epitomously titled record.
After that, Pig Destroyer out of D.C.
Some D.C.
hardcore.
Girl in the Slayer...
Excuse me, Girl in the Slayer jacket was the name of the tune from the Phantom Loom record on the Relapse label.
After that, Wicker Man out of Chicago.
I don't know.
I don't know jack shit about Wicker Man.
I think I got their CD out of the discount bin once upon a time.
Some of you old enough will remember that, like combing through the discs, and if you see a cool picture, then you might just invest the one to three dollars on that disc.
That's what I did, and I'm not disappointed at all.
The band is called Wicker Man, and the tune is called Brayden Freeze.
The last turn, the first tune you heard in the set was Gallows, Black Eyes.
That's the name of my tune.
Produced by the legendary producer, Guga Garth.
Garth Richardson.
My opinion, the band Gallows, in my opinion, their funniest album.
Just well-crafted.
Just chock full of like sonic and lyrical nihilism themes.
It's hard to describe, I guess, it's really just a complete record, man, from back to front.
A lot of dynamics, a lot of drama, and their other stuff is good, but I don't think they really nailed it like they did on that one record called Grey Britain.
Here it is.
And, uh, also you've, uh, got a hold of a bunch of old photos from, uh, USC crew.
A bunch of old bus, RTD bombing.
For me, old enough I remember the RTD, Rapid Transit District out of Los Angeles.
Before the Metro was here, it was called the RTD, and so, uh, there's a lot of great photos from the, uh, 80s and 90s.
Some now legendary artists hitting up those, uh, RTD buses.
Rapid Transit District.
Dick Tomendero.
Rough, tough, and dirty.
Also check out the shop on neighborhood-love.com.
T-shirts, skateboard decks, stickers, et cetera.
This is all of, uh, archived photos episodes of this year's program, Neighborhood Love Radio.

Hope you dig it.
You and me caught in between two sides of fire They're part of the world No truth in sight Only a genius It's all to say Who is to blame Two sides of fire It's all to say Who is to blame No trust in karma We can see They want to be Right for their own cause No, it's like As you look up You see for yourself You see for yourself You see for yourself You see for yourself Here's all the signs Who is to blame I'm in a sun.
And I'm fearful, I'm fearful, I'm fearful of flying and flying is fearful of me.
And I'm covering my eyes when she told me the news.
Turning me on with my lightsaber, cocks I can't blow.
Are you coming?
Are you coming?
Are you coming?
Are you coming?
Are you coming?
Are you coming?
You can't stand on account of a crutch and I'm aching from fucking too much.
And I know what I do and it all points to you.
Did you sell me to wanderlust?
And I'm fearful, I'm fearful, I'm fearful of flying and flying is fearful of me.
And I'm covering my eyes when she told me the news.
Turning me on with my lightsaber, cocks I can't blow.

You know you are while you're falling apart And it all but I can't watch I've got guns in my hand and I don't want to look back But believe me, I'm innocent And I'm fearful, I'm fearful, I'm fearful of flying I'm flying, I can't fly And I'm dropping my eyes when she told me the news Turning me on with my lightsaber, cocksuckers McCluskey out of Wales.
This is Bark Market.
Out of New York.
There's big money in these fat blackheads If you know how to smell for it You can drive a nail in the sand And breath of death Do you know how to smell for it?
Your hands won't stay in that breath As it burns out your manifest grave On these windfall days Some old crank on your water, they say It tills his crop on your painter and won't play him It begs the moon for the next sun to return While we calculate just how much book to make on his fate And the grace of our tale How you made this belt From his great height in a moment of pure self-help Black and tan as every good boy said As the proof of your mettle runs straight through that exit wound That you left on this circus land I can't stand it I'm your wild, imprisoned man A dead world Or of a glittering tree Above the truckload unclear For the better life A sanctified in your desire To rest your mind With a straight face And a boot lace noose For the price of this cinnamon treat I took part in your vacancy I washed over my hands in your glorious bleak And then I cut this darkened from the side of thy broken hand And I had all that monument, baby If I could cry I'd drown in life In the dead eye of hindsight And I can't raise my arms And I can't rest this tired form I can't say why Why you're baiting me Stop baiting me Without breaking your power Just temporary For how I might choose to relieve This fat soul Need to be king For a day But for the right pay To coven steel gray And state-shaped hate A fur out of vacant bodies Burned and unsaved For death and more than me at all I wish I could wipe from this place And I'm bound to be rolling in these rhymes Tired of dirt from my pockets to my mind But I've been dead of my spite Like some half-spent slack-backed mule That I can't ride I don't wanna be at this time I don't wanna see what there's left of me If I could run I'd drop my gun And say that you like my eyes If I could raise my hands If I could raise my hands If I could lift these tired plans I'd rake out the crooked mind Mind Mind If I could I'd do it again Again Let it come Let it come Let it come We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
Dave Sardi, who's gone on to produce a lot of big name acts like Oasis, System of a Down, Marilyn Manson, and so on.
He does film scores now.
Anyway, that's his old band called Bark Market from The Gimmick.
LP Static is the name of that tune on the American Recordings label.
Before that, we heard McCluskey out of Wales, and we started off the set with F-.
I think they're from Orange County.
That's going to wrap up the set.
My name is Johnny Scott Gramercy.
This is Neighborhood Love Radio.
If you're listening to the live show, please stick around for the Dark Mark show.
Always seedy, sexy, funny, Dark Mark.
Enjoy.
