📄 Transcript [show]

I think what I want to do is I want to talk just for a second. I wrote this out and it's very close to my heart because I was down there and I watch our police and our firemen down on 7-Eleven, down at the World Trade Center right after it came down. And I saw the greatest people I've ever seen in action. I saw the bravest people I've ever seen, including the construction workers, including every person down there. That's what New York values about. And so I wrote out a little something and I'd like to talk about the New York values that we all know so well. The values that make us love this state, despite its problems. We love this state. We know it's going to come back. If I'm president, it's going to come back so fast you won't even believe it. You watch. You watch. New York's alright if you like saxophones New York's alright if you wanna make push the front of the subway New York's alright if you like tuberculosis New York's alright if you like organ jazz New York's alright if you're a homosexual New York's alright New York's alright New York's alright If you like saxophones New York's alright if you like drugs in your doorway New York's alright if you wanna freeze to death New York's alright if you wanna get fucked or murdered New York's alright if you like saxophones New York's alright New York's alright New York's alright If you like saxophones New York's alright if you like rhythm New York's alright if you like rhythm Now, this was a major attack that struck the heart of Kabul. The Taliban has claimed responsibility. The Taliban has already launched its so-called spring offensive. So, Tuni, could this be just the beginning of a wave of large-scale attacks? I think a lot of people fear that this year's spring offensive will be bloodier and more violent than normal because the Taliban are taking advantage of the vacuum left behind by international forces who've largely withdrawn from Afghanistan, at least from the battlefields. So I think this is probably, I mean, the timing of this attack is probably meant to garner maximum publicity for the Taliban. Whether they'll be able to keep up this level of attacks is probably something we'll have to wait and see. Most of the Taliban's offensive does take place in the provinces, but clearly this is something that is making people in Kabul angry. It's just that the Taliban obviously are able to conduct an attack of this size in the heart of the capital. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Hundreds were injured, describing trouble breathing, burning eyes, and blistering skin. Chemical weapons experts say that it was some sort of homemade mustard gas, possibly combined with something else. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. Let the waves of life behind Send a move of kingdom there I know a curse is never meant to die We summon all the sinners and we stand up We run Check out Tonight To be a star Evil Sinner Evil Sinner Evil Sinner Evil Sinner Evil Sinner Evil I just called to say I love you. Do you have it? Yeah. Great. We have it. Great. Can I have it then? No. No, you can't. Why not? Well, it's sentimental, tacky crap. That's why not. Do we look like the kind of store that sells I just called to say I love you? Go to the mall. What's your problem? Do you even know your daughter? There's no way she likes that song. Oh, oh, oh. The songs you are about to hear are intended for mature listening audiences only. If you have a weak mind or heart and don't like words like shit, fuck, or cunt, then please refrain from listening any further. It's time for some real music. It's showtime! We do see the imitators! We've also seen duplicators! But now, it's time for the originators! Los Angeles and the rest of the world. Many have tried to replicate. Many have tried to duplicate miserably. You're listening to the one true, real, subversive, live underground show. Because live is where it's at. That's it. Live is the real deal. Broadcasting live from gentrified downtown Los Angeles. You're listening to the very manic Jimmy Cab Show. I am your host, Jimmy Cabs. Thank you for listening. Today, I have a very special, special guest. A very handsome young man. Who's pretty prominent in Los Angeles. I'd say you're kind of like the same rock star status as I am. Mr. Dan Dismal of Church of the Eighth Day. How you doing there? I'm alright. I think the thing is that I'm bigger than you by girth and stature. That's about it. But you know what? You carry it well. I carry it well. You know, as I told you a couple years ago at another station, you really have a... And by the way, I'm not a homosexual. But I do, you know, I do notice. The junk in the trunk. You carry it very well. You dabble. Let's just call it that. There you go. Who's this bearded gentleman to your right there? Eric. How you doing, Eric? Doing fantastic. Thank you for being here as well. Thank you for joining us here at We Play Radio. Lots going on. You know, it's interesting. Today in Afghanistan, there was a major Taliban attack in Kabul. It's nice to know that all those American servicemen there were over there sacrificing. And in the shit, pulled out of there. And it's all bedlam again. And then chemical attacks in Iraq. But I'm going to tell you something. I'm not bummed out about that. Because even though just recently, I'm about to hear the news of what's going on in New York. We had such a great music weekend, Dan. Yeah. You know what I mean? Let's start off with Friday. Friday, Iron Maiden was in town, went to the forum. And I had a great time because nobody fucked with me. Nobody. Nobody interrupted me. Nobody came up and acted like a fool. No one was fucking windmill headbanging. I was with my lady. I had a couple beverages. Saw Maiden, you know, that third guitarist that gets all my fucking nerves with his shenanigans. You know, kept it down to a minimum. I had a great time. The set list was, you know, I liked the new record. It was interesting. But it was a fantastic show. And guess what? I had a great time. That's surprising. Isn't that rare? Yeah, you're like the Jack Nicholson of fucking. Dude, nobody fucked with me. I had pleaded. I had pleaded. I had put a message out on Facebook saying, please, please. You know, as you know or may not know, I've been an Iron Maiden fan since 1979. Back in the fifth grade when everybody was obsessed with, you know, the Dallas Cowboys, Roger Stallback and fucking Darth Vader and Star Wars. I was in a Maiden. Okay. So when it comes to Maiden, that's very special to me. And I was hoping I wouldn't have assholes. You deal with it because you deal with the music scene. Huh? How many times do you have fucking assholes coming up to you, giving you a CD or a tape or telling you about their great band and how fucking awesome they are? How many times has Aramis come up to you with his different new bands? I mean, how many times do you have these guys that they think they're on the verge of the cutting edge? They're so awesome. And guess what? Aside from their fucking chicks and maybe, you know, their mom, they suck. Right? Come on. We keep it real. We keep it real. You're not on the razor. Keep it real here, dog. I mean, you know. I'm always real about it. I mean, some people come up. And they give me something. And it is awesome. And a lot of the times, it's not. But it was the same way when I was in a band younger. You always think you're better than you usually are. You're like, dude, I came up with this new riff. Listen to it. Dun, dun, dun. Dun, dun, dun. Dun, dun, dun. Is that how you do it? You're like, what is that? But, I mean, it comes even more from my day job. So, I get stuff where people are like, oh, this is the best female singer I've ever heard. I'm like, she sounds like a dog getting fucked. Right? What is this? She sounds like a fucking cat in heat. Yeah. Yeah. She sounds like some bitch with fucking chlamydia dripping. Let me ask you this. How do you deal with these inspirational, these creative minds that are so excited to approach you and just bombard you with their work? How do you deal with it? I sit behind a soundboard. And actually, since we do most of our shows at the Complex, and I sit behind the soundboard. Eric is actually the first person they have to go into. And Eric doesn't put up with people's shit. How do you deal with it, Eric? I'm busy. Send me an email. Really? Do you respond to your emails? Yeah, all the time. Oh, wow. Yeah, we respond to 100% of our... Here's my thing. And it's kind of like, it's a double-edged sword. Because you know me as a person beyond this. I'm a very private person away from music and being outside. You know, I'm very... I'm just a dude, you know? So, but I do believe in the respect of I will respond to people's emails. And I'll give people's bands a chance. And there's some times where... Where I've put a band on and I'm like, as a favor. You know what? And they're horrible. Let me commend you. Let me commend you on this. You actually... See, because you have a more professional attitude than I do. I think maybe because you make money, you get paid, you're in the industry officially. I'm just some fucking asshole pretending to be somebody. You know, six years of unemployed and I'm just trying to, you know, look like I'm doing something. But the thing that bothers me is... Frank Mendez, a couple of months ago, man. I'm obligated. I should be going to every show. I should be listening to every demo. I should be... When I'm with my lady, I'm with my lady. Dude, I love getting laid. Okay? I didn't get laid in the 80s. Now that I'm getting laid, let me enjoy the beauty of the female companionship. Let me, you know... I don't want to hear about your fucking band. I don't want to see your beautiful hair. I don't want to talk about your patches on your vest. You know, like, leave me alone. That is the one thing that I've had. People do. Because most of the time, you won't see me with a lady friend. I'm usually surrounded by nothing but dudes. So, there's been a few times where I'll be standing there and I'll be sitting talking to a girl. And then someone will come up. The cock blocker, right? It's not so much as cock blocker. It's just the punisher. And personal friends, you know, friends that I've had for a long time, I don't mind them coming up. Because they're just like, hey, how you doing? What's up? All right, dude. See you. And that's it. But I've had guys that are just like... So, I just sent you an email five minutes ago. Did you get it? I'm like, dude, really? Like, this is not the time nor place to discuss this. Right, right. Like, dude, you don't see, like, there's a girl over here trying to talk to you? Yeah. My favorite thing is, you know, I don't want to sound like I'm some fucking asshole, but I am an asshole. You know, the thing is, is I get it. You know, I understand that bands want to hustle. Musicians want to hustle. Just like writers. Just like any artistic person. You know? But there's a time and a place. And I go out of my way to respect people's zones. I notice that in this day and age, no one does that anymore. You know what I do? Like, you're a busy guy. I see you all the time. I don't want to say that I have a very invested relationship with you. But I'd say we're friends. You know, we see each other. But do I bother you? No, I think you... I go up, I say hi, I leave you the fuck alone. Yeah, you know, because most of the time, most of the time when I'm setting up for a show, like, I'm so busy. And then people will come. Come up and they'll start hitting me. Usually when you come in, you're like, hey, I'm here. Do you need anything? Let me know. Thank you. Thank you for, you know, thank you for what you do. Thank you for letting me in. You know, I'm not going to talk to you about my diabetes. I'm not talking about my yeast infection on my cock. I'm not talking... I'm not going to talk about any of that shit. Thank you. Have a great show. I'm here. See you later. Yeah. All right. In San Francisco on Saturday, this is interesting. It was, by the way, it was National Record Store Day. You're in the record industry, did you say? A bunch of vinyl that day? I don't know if we sold a bunch. I think the thing about Record Store Day is, and people are starting to realize it, is that the phenomenon is kind of like, kind of dissipating after a while. It's like, it's Record Store Day for most of us every day. Every day. It's like saying, oh, it's National Cheese Day. It's like, fuck you, I eat cheese every day. Like, what is this? So it's, it's a, Record Store Day is kind of dying in a sense. And in the industry of being in metal, metal and punk never... and possibly hip hop, never gave up on the vinyl format. Right. It was everybody else who walked away from it. And then all of a sudden, Record Store Day came in. They're like, well, we're going to put this and that. We're going to put the Dweezil Upside Downers on vinyl. You're like, why? None of those guys never even really play records. Most of them don't even crack the cellophane. So I think it's starting to lose a little bit of it. Really? And it's, I believe so. I mean, I know, you know, what was it? You know, Metallica did that little in-store. You know, normally, this is another shocker for most of you. Normally, I'd say the last 20 years, I haven't really been too excited with the Metallica thing. I don't want to be a bandwagon hater. I just was not interested. You know, you move on. You go, you... I moved on in 91. You're a music aficionado. You love music just as much as I do. I mean, you go on to something else. I'm not one of these, you know, stagnant metal guys. You know, I like to... I like to explore new music. I like to explore different types of music. So normally, the whole Metallica thing, I really wouldn't care. I wouldn't be talking about it. But I'm talking about it now because I saw the footage and I was actually very shocked at how... What a great fucking show it was. They played nothing but old songs. They played in a record store to fans. Mind you, though, great PR move, right? Giving back to the fans. Record store day. It's reissues of their shit. Yeah. It's still cool, man. I don't care. I don't follow it. You know, people say, well, you know, they're doing it only for this or doing it only for that. I was like, I don't give a fuck they're doing it. That's cool as far as I'm concerned. I mean, I've seen... I remember when Glanzig... Glanzig? Glanzig. Yeah, when Glenn Danzig did... Don't have Craig calling over here. Yeah, no, all right. He'll kill me. When he first came back and did the 13 Misfits songs. Right. Like, people were like, oh, well, it's not the Misfits. I said, I don't give a fuck. That's as close as I'm ever going to get. I went to seeing the Misfits. Yeah. One of my favorite bands that I never had a chance to see. Because even though it seems like, you know, we're probably forever old, but in that time, now, I came too late to see them. Right. Yeah, same here. Same here. It was just like, fuck. So it's like, you know, I thought that was cool what they did. Yeah, you know, it was... This weekend really was a good weekend for music. You know, another thing that shocked me that I found... Maybe the meds are kicking in, darling. Maybe that's what's going on, right? I don't know what it... Because, I mean, she's been feeding me cannabis. Maybe that's what's going on. I had a great weekend. You know, again, the Coachella thing, don't give a fuck about it. Yeah. Never gave a fuck about it. Could care less. You know, if you went to that fucking extravaganza, more power to you. But I saw the footage of the Guns N' Roses and not a fan. I mean, I'm an old Hanoi Rocks, Michael Monroe guy. I've been saying it for decades. Blatant ripoff. But I did enjoy when they brought out Angus Young. So I'm kind of tripping out on this whole transition that I'm going through. I don't know what's... I don't know what's happening. I don't know what's happening, Dan. So that's why I'm glad that you're here. Because, you know, you've always been straightforward. You've always been... I think you get to a point to where you just say, fuck it, and maybe start enjoying it. Right. And getting rid of some of the stigmatisms that come with shit like that. Because, honestly, I mean, back to the Metallica thing. In 91, when they came out with the Black Album... What waist size were you in 91? I'm just curious. 32. Wow. Yeah. That's a long time ago. Yeah, it was a long time ago. I mean, that was when I was in high school. But I remember when I came back from summer, all the kids that used to make fun of me. Like, oh, yeah. You got a dog in your pocket. You know, kill your mother, eat your dog shit. And I remember I was already moving on to death metal. But Metallica was like my champ. Metallica and Slayer and all that shit. Bay Area stuff and all that. Right. Those were the champions of my youth. And then when I came back and all of a sudden they liked them all. That left such a bitter taste in my mouth. So, like, I did the same thing. I walked away from Metallica. And I was like, man. Yeah. You know, one of the things when you age in this music scene... I've been accused of being a very negative, hateful nonce. Supportive guy. But, again, I do my thing. And I'm not here to dictate to you. You know, the whole beauty of this scene, and I'm sure you are going to vouch for this, is it's an independent thing. You do what you want. You listen to what you're into. You support what you want. The whole thing about the beauty of this scene is, you know, it's supposed to be free. Rock and roll. It is supposed to be. There's no rules. Except, obviously, when you go to shows. But the point that I'm trying to say is, it was a great weekend for music. Regardless of you like these artists or not, it was nice for me to be able to experience joy, where usually I'd be, you know, ranting and raving about something. And then today, New York. Chester, how you doing over there? What's up, man? How's it going? Now, why don't you give me... I haven't really been following the last two hours. What's going on in New York? Yeah, so, as of right now... Why don't you... Why don't you put up that image of the candidates that we have up there? You know which one I'm talking about with the cartoon? There. Well, when you fight it. I got it. I got it. There you go. Yeah, there you go. All right. So, why don't you tell us what's going on in New York? Right now, 94% of the results are in. I mean, it was called a long time ago, but Clinton won over Sanders. Unbelievable. Trump won over Ted Cruz. I'm glad Trump won. I don't know about you. I don't know if you get political, Dan. I don't know if you even give a fuck about this. The reason why I was really pulling for Sanders in New York was because it really would be nice to see the spirit of humanity and compassion and community survive. What do you think about that, Chester? Because I know you got your opinions. Yeah, I mean, you know, I'm a Bernie supporter just because I think out of all the candidates, he's the only one that is telling the truth. About what he says within his campaign. But Two-Face came in and knocked him out. Yeah, Hillary Clinton's fucking disgusting. She's a lying cunt, and she should be burned. Well, the reason why today was a reality check for me, because I had asked New York to do the right thing. You know, you get it? Do the right things. Spike Lee, you know, that bullshit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I had asked New York to do the right thing, and New York, you failed. Moving along. Fuck that. Thank you for fucking up everything, and thank you for fucking up my great high. What did we listen to, Dan? The opening block there. Hope you could read my writing. No, yeah, well. Oh, actually, that's awesome. Well, right on, man. One of my favorite songs for New York. Thanks for fucking it up yet again, man. You make great pizza, but sometimes bad decisions. Horrible accents as well, but I love you, New York. Thanks for sick of it all in the diagnostic front and all that good music. But we started it off with one of New York's best, Fear. We had... New York's alright if you like saxophones. That's right. If you're a homosexual, you'll love New York. Yeah, and also, if you've ever been in a New York subway, all you hear is saxophones and people blowing on it. Then, to celebrate your little Iron Maiden awesome kick that you had with not getting pissed and pulling that Jack Nicholson, as good as it gets thing that you do, washing your hands 5,000 times. I can't wait to tell you about this. We had Iron Maiden, Fear of the Dark. If you don't know that song, then you're probably a poser. Now, Dan, you remember back in 1991, Iron Maiden shows. When they would play that song, remember how, like, they would whip out the lighters? What about you, my friend? You look like you're... Do you indulge in cannabis? Are you a cannabis guy? Do you smoke? Nope. Okay, well, this is for Teddy. Do you remember the lighters? Yep. Remember you'd like the lighters? One of the things... Again, another... I'm enjoying the show, having a great time. They play this song. That's not really a favorite of mine, but I can deal with it. But what I really tripped out on was that no one whips out lighters anymore. Because everyone's vaping. The whole stadium used to be... Hey, didn't you know down the street down here at the Midnight Mission that they have down here, all the crackheads don't use lighters anymore. They have crack vapes. Okay. I just showed my age, right? No, but it's on... That's the reason why. Because nobody smokes cigarettes. Nobody does anything. There's vapes. So everybody holds up a fucking cell phone. Oh. And I don't know if you've seen the app. That's a little flame. That's really gay, dude. It's like, say... It's like... Virtual sex. If you could have real sex or fake sex, have the real thing. Wow. Well, you know, one of the things that I was noticing when all this was going on, I'm like, what happened to all the fucking lighters? Like, no one carries a lighter? No one smokes? What's going on? Oh, man. That's all about vaping, man. Getting old. What else do we hear, Dan? All right. So, Exciter, Heavy Metal Maniac. Or actually, is it... The album is off of Heavy Metal Maniac, and then the song is Evil Sinner. All right. Exciter's going to be coming to town. Yeah. They're actually playing on Saturday. Saturday. Same night as one of my fest nights, but Exciter's awesome. Totally different scenes. Sneaker thrash. There you go. A lot of pizza going on. So, then... And then, talking about Metallica, we heard Metallica hit the lights off the infamous album, Killing. All right. As you can tell, Dan Dismal is my guest. For those of you that are not in the Los Angeles area, I'm sure you've heard of the name, or you've heard of Church of the Eighth Day. Mm-hmm. One of the things that I want to say, Ray, now is thank you. Yeah. You and a small amount of real promoters here in Los Angeles, you bring really good, true music. I appreciate what you do. Here in Los Angeles, it's very difficult to find venues. Even though we're all in this so-called scene, we're dealing with a bunch of fucking assholes. We're supposed to be all supportive and united. These kids don't give a fuck, especially the ones that are from El Salvador. They don't give a fuck. No one... No one... No one gives a rat's ass. Drinking around the corner. They're sneaking in fucking bottles. How do you deal with the... You know what blows my mind? I've been ranting or raving about this, too. The heavy metal bitches. You know, I was complaining about how, like, back in my day, there was no chicks. Now there's all these little hot chicks. But they're looking like dudes. They dress like fucking dudes. They smell. They're all fucking... Ugh. No femininity. They're trying to slam into me. The point is, is you are doing an incredible job. And this is... This weekend, you're having your mini murder fest. Why don't you tell us what the murder fest was and what is this mini murder fest for 2016? So, 2003... Was it really 2003? Well, that was the first one. So, the murder fest was a small little fest put together at the Holy Goalie. And I had, you know, like 10 bands. And then, 2004, I put together this thing, the Labor Day Metal Massacre. And I decided, oh, yeah, this is... It worked. So, then I was already booking shows at the Knit. And then I put together a three-day festival. Right. So, that ran from 2005, 6, 7, 8, and 9. And this three-day festival, what kind of music did it consist of? It was pretty much everything. It went from hardcore to stoner to doom to black metal to death metal, grindcore. It was just... It was pretty much everything that I was like... I've always believed, like we've talked about. You know, there's too much scene divisions. And there's too much like... Listen to black metal and I'll... Man, shut up. Right. Once you get a certain age, you're going to start listening to everything. Absolutely. You're going to be like, hey, you know what? Maybe it's not only about Satan. Music is like vagina, man. Yeah. You know? Right? Music's like vagina. It's like pussy, you know? Like, when you're young, you just want to fuck everything that's hot. Yeah. Well, that's the reason why they had fun. But when reality kicks in, you'll bang anything. You just... You know what? You just want to get off the bench. You want to play. Coach, put me in. Same thing with music. Well, that's actually... The idea of what the name Murderfest came from is that it was supposed to... Murdering pussy? No, yeah. Murdering pussy. Put that shit to sleep. No, it was basically murdering the stigma of what a genre means. Right. Within extreme music. Obviously, you know, I'm not going to like put it on jazz. And I would like to see a jazz band in a metal show, but I don't think most, you know, patch bearers would be into it. They'd be like, what the fuck is this? And I'd be like, well, basically most of your music comes from that. But... So, I mean... And it ran for a long time. It did really well, but the knitting factory shut down and that was my home. And a lot of people approached me and said, well, we can put it here. We can put it there. We can do it this way. And we can do it that way. And I said, well, none of that all works because it was cash grabbing. It was, you know, working with people that didn't really have their hearts into it. Venues that didn't really give a fuck. And I said, well, you know, I don't need to bring it back. I had a great run. It's like going back into a great relationship that ended. Most of the time it doesn't work out again. But I got reinvigorated with it again. And then doing so many shows at Complex, I thought to myself, well, you know what? I can't do it as big as it was. Maybe just do a smaller version of it because it seems like a lot of people wanted it back. A lot of people were like, hey, I miss that time. I miss going to see so many different bands and like the community around it and how people like came together from all over. It's like the Maryland Death Fest, but in L.A. And it's a smaller version. Basically, what it is, is this is like a revisiting of your festival. So for back in the day, but it's kind of it's kind of also to reacquaint the youth into what what it was, which is exposing good underground extreme bands, different eclectic bands, the community aspect of it. And also just to have overall great weekend of music. Right. That's pretty much it. What are the dates for this festival? April Friday, April 22nd to Sunday, April 24th. At the Complex. At Complex. OK, we're going to talk more about that in the meantime. We're also going to have Oscar Garcia. For those of you that listen to the show, you know who Oscar Garcia is. He is the original Terrorizer, the one and only real godfather of grind. Nausea Terrorizer. We're going to have him on the phone. There's a lot of news going on with that. In the meantime, let's get the show started. New York. I'm disappointed in you, but you know what? Fuck it. Give them you. That's what you want. Bring it on. This is a band that Dan, thank you for bringing a great band from Italy. UFO. Chester. Crank it loud. Take it away. Take it away. Take it away. Take it away. Take it away. Take it away. Take it away. Take it away. Take it away. Take it away. Take it away. Take it away. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. mature men. Yeah. And number two, you know what? These kids are really arctic. All right, what did we hear, Dan? So we started with what Jimmy would call UFO Mamut. UFO Mamut. It's UFO Mamut with demons, but it's the proper pronunciation of Dale Mons or something. I don't know how you're going to say it. Off the album Eckate. And then a really awesome band with really awesome dudes with really kind of questionable fans. We heard from Power From Hell. The song was called Day of Lust off the album Sadismo. Let's talk about this real quick. You know, we were discussing the Power From Hell show that you brought and also UFO Mamut. Okay. Two very obscure bands that we had the pleasure to see. Here in Los Angeles, thanks to Dan Dismal. By the way, I shouldn't be the only one thanking you. All you fucking assholes should be thanking Dan when you see him. You don't have to suck his cock, but you should thank him. Because who else would bring these very obscure bands from far off lands? But we were talking about the difference between that UFO Mamut show and Power From Hell. Both very heavy, very extreme, very underground subversive bands. Yep. Both fantastic shows. The difference was one had an old... Older fan base that respected the artists, respected the venue, respected the promoter, respected themselves, and they had a fabulous fucking time. The other show, there seems to be a problem with the kids that maybe it's because of their... Maybe home. Maybe at home their parents are fucking assholes. Maybe there's this misconception that it's cool to go to a place and get fucked up and disregard fucking the policies. Disrespect the venue, disrespect the promoter, disrespect the artist. And guess what? Put the scene in jeopardy. Yep. Now, am I being grandpa right now, Dan? No. Can you vouch for this? Because I'm no longer that little crybaby bitch guy. I'm getting laid down. I'm having a great time. Well, the thing is... Talk to me. Well, what we were talking about is, you know, we were talking about when we were growing up and then, you know, we would go to shows, you'd get crazy and everything. But there was the big... The big thing, what we were talking about. We wanted to make sure we got inside the show. We wanted to make sure that we didn't do anything to get us kicked out of the show or shut down the show because most of these bands never came out here. I mean... That's right. When I saw Supple Turret for the first time or when I saw Fudge Tunnel or when I saw Carcass or Godflesh or, you know, any of these bands. You know, the list will go on. We wanted to make sure that we didn't get kicked out because fuck that. It sucked because we didn't have the money. It wasn't a big thing yet. And you wanted to come back the next week. Yeah. You wanted to come back. I can see more shows. So it seems like right now and, you know, it's no disrespect to anybody that's not doing this. This is directed 100% at the people that are doing this and you know who you are and you're getting on my fucking nerves. You guys come out to the shows and you think that it's cool to be the most extreme guy or girl and you're basically on a soapbox and you want people to shine a light on you and you're like, I'm the meanest or the toughest in the scene. And it's like what you don't realize is when you do things, like that, when you go out of control and you argue with the venue staff or just saying, hey, you can't smoke inside or you throw up and say, no, I'm fine. Or you try to open doors, you break something and all that shit. What you're doing is you got to remember, and this is why I said it's the 10% rule. There's 10% of the people at the venue that are probably assholes. There is 90% that aren't. And you're jeopardizing it for those other 90%. So here's the thing. You can go to shows and be out of control. Stay in the backyards. Stay in the backyards. Stay in the backyards. Stay in the backyards. Stay in the backyards can do that. But if you get out of control, you're going to get dealt with by the homies. Now, say the homies are going to do something worse to you than what I would, which is kick you out and tell you to stay out. How is it that you haven't fucking strangled some of these kids by the throat? You know, I'm not embarrassed to say this. I've elbowed a couple of female bitches right in the face. Whoops. I got a bad back, dude. Someone tries to fucking, you know what I mean? Whoops. I think I've only, there's only been a few times in my professional career as being a promoter that I've threatened somebody. I think it's because of my size. And when I actually get angry, I become a very angry person. Like Lufarino? Fucking the Hulk? Basically, a fat Hulk, like a bear, you know? So, I mean, it was that power from hell that I told some guy outside who was basically talking shit to me. And I said, I was like, I'll put you on the ground and I'll rub your face all over the concrete. And he was like, what the fuck? And then I was like, I don't give a fuck who you are. And I just started going off. I'm like, you know, you know me. And why are you doing this? Like, you're disrespecting everything I do. And that's when I get really like pissed off. And I'm like, it's not for myself. It's because of all these people that I see that have taken $20 to get into the show, that have taken a night off work or just giving me their time and they're spending money at the bar and buying merch. I want the show to go from A to Z for them. Why do you do this? Because I know for a fact you're not making money. No. I mean, I thought I was under the impression maybe you're getting laid or at least fillet show here and there. Why are you doing this? I, you know, I have this weird, it started, you know, Jordan, the old partner that I used to work with for many years. And then now with Eric and then also- Are you a silent partner? Because you're pretty mute over there. He just said words. I'm the talker. He's the muscle. You're the handsome guy? You're just sexy? You're just the other? I'm the Jew. Yeah. That's truly what it is. I mean, you always- You know what? I get it right there. Thank you. I'm Sicilian. He's a Jew. We make the best business partners. It's, I think the thing was, is growing up, I saw a big, you know, I wanted to see more shows in my area. And I really championed the scene at one point. And, you know, being in all the bands that I've been in and what I've done, I've always had this pride of what a show should be and how it should be ran. And I do think at some point I'm a glutton for punishment and also a shark. Like if I don't, if I have downtime, I feel like I'm going to end up like dying or something. But there is times where, to be honest, I just turned 41 yesterday. Yeah. I just turned 46. Yeah. So we're- Have you had to finger up your ass yet? Oh, I'm not- I'm not talking about sexually. I'm talking medically. That's the one that I'm talking about too. I'm not looking forward to that, but I have to go. But, you know, there are times where I'm sitting here thinking like, why I've dedicated 20 plus years. Does that blow your mind? Yeah. I want to give you props for what you do, but I think one of the main reasons why we all do what we do is because We love it. We love it. We love it. We love it. We love it. We love it. We love the music. It's all about the music. And for those of you out there, we're not talking shit about the youth, but in a way we are. If you truly love the music, okay, you know, it's not about impressing everybody with your patches or fucking getting on stage and staying on stage and interrupting the show. It's about- Breaking every- It's about really enjoying what it's about. And that is seeing these artists, seeing the show, experiencing, and having that memory and having a good time and also not fucking it up for the rest of it. So if you really love music, act right. All right. Let's move. I think the other thing real quick is everyone go on YouTube and look up the specials and look up to that Rudy song. You know, the message to you, Rudy song. Listen to that. Listen to the damn lyrics and all you guys are fucking shit up. That song's directed right at you. Right on, man. You know, this is interesting. Oscar Garcia. What an amazing story. You know, you know the Oscar Garcia story. You know, without going into the whole political thing there or choosing sides. Here's a guy that for a long time was an obscure artist. Those who knew the real story, those who knew the real deal. He was, he's been relevant all these years. Yep. Okay. We're going to talk to him in a bit. He's going to be playing day three of your murder fest, which is Sunday, correct? Yep. Chester, you got a flyer of the murder fest up there. Can you throw it up there for us, please? There you go. Why don't you read some of those artists that are playing on Sunday? Well, there's Jimmy Cabs is playing. No, I'm just kidding. Am I playing? Yeah, no. It's a. I don't play with myself no more. Well, starting down from the bottom, we have a road, which is a new, a new band genocide skin, which is the drummer for, um, ghoul Columbia necktie, which is an up and coming power violence band. Great band. Destroyed in seconds, which has been around. I mean, it's a Bruce. Reeves, who was in phobia and a mange, a bunch of bands, exhausted prayer, which is a band that a lot of you assholes don't give enough praise to. They've been around forever. And they're one of the most awesome bands out here. Behold, the monolith is amazing. Bad. Just came back from road burning. You're amazing. Yeah. They're basically getting off the, off the flight and coming to play this. And then 16, which is another band that's been around for many years. And then of course, nausea, which is a band. It was funny because nausea was playing for many years here in Los Angeles. After. Even the whole terrorizer thing. And a lot of people just seem to kind of like pass them off. And I used to go see them and I was just like, yeah, this is nausea. People are like, well, who's that? I'm like, what? Ahead of their time. Oscar Garcia has been ahead of their time. You know, he doesn't get the risk. Well, I would say now he does. I'd say the last couple of years. He has. He has to been starting, which is much due. Right. So I'm glad that he's going to be on the phone with us soon. But in the meantime, get your tickets for the mini murder fest. Not only Sunday, Friday, Saturday, as you heard the lineup and go on. Look at, look at the flyer. Amazing obscure bands. Great weekend of real music at a fantastic venue that lets you come in after that power from Elso. Yeah. Right. Get your tickets. Support real music. Chester. How about some nausea? Let's get Oscar on the phone. Take it away. There has to be some form of punishment. For the woman. Yeah. There has to be some form. Ten cents. Ten years. I don't know. That I don't know. I don't know. That I don't know. I don't know. You take positions in everything else. I frankly, I do take positions in everything else. It's a very complicated position. But you say bluntly you're pro-life, meaning you want to ban it. But the Catholic church is pro-life. No, let's not talk about my religion. No, no. I am talking about your religion. Your religion. I mean, you say you're a very good Catholic. I didn't say very good. I said I'm a Catholic. What? And secondly, I'm asking, you're running for president. I'm not. I'm asking you, what should a woman face if she chooses to have an abortion? No, no. I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to play that game. You have. You said you're pro-life. You have. I am pro-life. That means banning abortion. And so is the Catholic church pro-life. But they don't control. This isn't Spain. We don't control. The church doesn't control the government. What is the punishment under the Catholic church? What is the punishment? Let me give you something for the New Testament. Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's. Let me give you something. Let me give you something. Let me give you something. Let me give you something. Let me give you something. Let me give you something. Let me give you something. Let me give you something. Let me give you something. Let me give you something. Legitimate. All right. Dan, what did we hear there? Oh, we heard a block of, well, not all of nausea, but it might as well be. We heard nausea from the Condemned to the System album. Freedom of Religion was the track there. And then we heard a classic. If you don't know what it is, then I'll say it again. You shouldn't be in this scene probably, unless you're young, but you're smart and not dumb. Jumping off shit, we heard some Terrorizer from the classic World Downfall record. Terrorizer L.A. We got to make sure we, you know, don't infringe on the legalities. Oh, my God. I was looking. I was looking. I was looking. I was looking. I was looking. I was looking. All right. Terrorizer L.A. It was only one Terrorizer as far as I'm concerned. That's right. So it was the same one. We heard Rip the Shreds, and then we heard some more nausea off the same album as before. Actually, we're going to hear that after we speak to them. Oh, really? Yeah. Thanks for paying attention there. Well, that's why I had your headphones off listening to you. All right. On the phone with me, I believe, is Oscar Garcia. Oscar, you're on the phone there? Yeah, man. What's up, good man? Hey, man. Thanks for taking the time to speak with us here, man. Boy, you've been really busy. You just came back. You just came back from Mexico with Terrorizer L.A., correct? How was that? Oh, it was great, man. Two great shows over there, man. People were great. So it was great, man. Is that the first time that you've traveled out there with Terrorizer L.A.? Yeah. We went a few years ago with Nausea. We played one show. And that was great, too. But yeah, it was the Terrorizer first time. You know, what's interesting is that Mexico... Dan, you would know this because you're in the music. You're for real. You're for reals in the music industry. Mexico, Central America, and South America are big metal markets, just like Europe, just like Japan. But they never get the respect they deserve. Were you amazed and surprised that you've had a fan base there for decades? Yeah, pretty much. Dude, there's Mexicanos that have been waiting to see you since 1986, dude. Yeah, exactly, man. When we played, there was a few guys, man, that were talking. They finally got to see it. And they waited for years and years and years, man, for it to happen. And, you know, some guys were even ready to tear up, man. I was like just tripping out on the whole thing, man. I was like, wow. Yeah, yeah. You know, I got to tell you, I've had the pleasure of talking to you a couple of times. And not to sound repetitive, but I really do... I think your story is one of the most very inspirational, very rewarding, and by all means, a fantastic story. Here's a guy that wrote some amazing music, okay? Not to talk shit about the other guys in Terrorizer, but they all went off and did their own ventures. And here's this guy that basically... And this is why I like you, Oscar, because you keep to yourself. You're quiet. You're humble. You're sincere. You know, you're not out seeking the limelight. But you never got the respect that I thought you deserved. You never got the full recognition of what you created. And 20-something years later, here you are now for yourself. Not for the fans. I want to talk about for you. It's got to be rewarding that not only that you had a solid, incredible, real fan base that lasted all these decades, living off your music, but that they're still relevant and here. And here's the best part. You're still writing great shit. That last Nausea record was the shit. What is going on with Nausea number one? I know you have new members, correct? Yeah. Yeah, we just... Pretty much redote it, man. I go... Pretty much, man, me and Eric wanted to get it back, you know, back going. And, uh... Right. You know, don't really pay that much or whatever. And the whole thing. So it's not... You know, really, you know, makes a lot of sense. So, you know, so then he... You know, we talked and all that. And, you know, he understood. I go, and, uh... Same thing with Alejandro, man. Alejandro, man, I go... You know, he's always on the road, the whole thing. We actually had to put on some shows because he was always on the road being found for, like, Carcass and other bands like that. And, uh... Pretty much, me and Eric were here just on hiatus. And, uh... We were thinking about just getting new guys. And, uh... The bass was easy. I just moved over to Carcass with my buddy. You know, from Terrorizers. So he plays in both bands. Right. He's here, and the only thing was, uh... Kind of hard is trying to find a guitar player. I mean, we were doing that at three pieces here and there, man. But, uh... You know, I always liked playing with that extra guitar. You know, a lead guitar. So, um... Eric was looking around, and, uh... By chance, it was, uh... Frank, Big Frank Mendez. He's the one who recommended Michael. Nice. Um, yeah. He came in, um... And he impressed the hell out of us, man. I mean, he picked up the whole album, and... I mean, the first practice, man. It was like, we didn't miss a beat. Now, you're referring to Michael... God, I'm gonna butcher this guy's last name. Borg, I believe, from Spit On Your Grave? Yeah, from Spit On Your Grave. That's correct. The, uh... Youngster, and, uh... That, too, man. We needed somebody, uh... A whole different... Some youth? A whole different looking... You know, just like a whole different... Look on the band. Uh, yeah, man. He brings it, man. Now, let me... Let me ask you this. You know, because, uh... One of the things that I really liked about when you came back with the... Uh, your prior members is that there was this really creative fire in the creative process. You guys were all excited. The live dynamic was, uh... Was in unison. Do you have that chemistry now with your new members? Uh, we'll see Saturday. Ha! Um, but I think so, man. I think so. Right on, man. Right on. It'll be... It'll be more, um... Pretty much, uh... It'll probably be something that we used to have before. I mean, more of a... More of a launch year. More of a... More that punkish sound that we needed. Nice! That we had at first. And, you know, with the condemn, we went more on the metal side. It was a little bit more... A little bit more metal. Mm-hmm. And, you know, what I miss is more of the hardcore and more punk style. So, you get that with Michael. This is interesting. You're gonna be playing Sunday at the mini Murderfest. Of course, yeah. Dan, correct me if I'm wrong. Wasn't Nasia one of the first bands that played at Murderfest? Yeah, as a matter of fact, man, I had to remember, yeah, last week when we were rehearsing, man, I was seeing Eric. I go, shit, man, we played at, uh, the Holy Goody. Oh, wow. Yeah. Oh, that was way back then. Now, when you played the Holy Goody, it wasn't Peshmodanite, right? You were talking about Metal Night? Okay, was it 80s night? I don't remember. I don't know. One thing I know, it was on Saturday we just showed up to play. There, man. It's, what's it, what's very interesting about Nasia is that there are very few bands that not only can keep the credibility, that they can keep the foundation and the true identity of the band. But what, this is what's really great. It seems like most bands that don't become stagnant. Like, it seems that time has, all this time that has elapsed has been to your benefit. Does it blow your mind that you have multi-generational fans like the Grateful Dead? The Grateful Dead. Dude, you're gonna have, you're gonna have dudes going to your show on Sunday with their sons and then possibly their sons. Yeah. Does that blow your fucking mind? It happened in Mexico. It happened in Mexico with Terrorizer, man. I have met a couple Let's hope they all buy merch, by the way. that were there with their sons and, you know, it's like, oh shit, man. Like, it was the dad and the son and the whole thing, man. Yeah, it's just a kid, man. I go, you know, about how all this, you know, just passes on to younger generations. Are you still enjoying, are you still enjoying it? Are you enjoying this now? Yeah, I've been having fun. I've been having fun, man. Fun little bit, man. I mean, one of the things that I really appreciate is that you're a family man. You've always made that clear that your family comes first, but are you enjoying, are you enjoying this where it's kind of, and not only that, even your family, your wife is very supportive. Are you really grasping it all now and enjoying it and really writing this, I don't want to say resurgence, but writing this second, ninth breath of fresh air? Oh. You know, I just take it as it comes, man. I go pen and simple, you know. I just do what I do and, you know, with the attitude that I've always had, you know, I'm happy people, some people like it and, you know, I just write it down, man. I'm a mess with my wife, I don't know. Right on, man. I'm a big supporter of it. I'm a big supporter of it, man. Right on. Saturday, you're going to be playing characters in Pomona. Sunday, you're going to be playing the Mini Murder Fest, at the Complex in Glendale. Let's talk about Terrorizer LA. This is really interesting. In July, you're going to be playing with Nails. July 20th, you're going to be playing the Brick by Brick in San Diego. The 21st, Santa Ana, the Constellation Room. The 22nd, the Roxy. Yeah. Terrorizer LA. Let's get into it here. What is going on and what is the difference between Terrorizer LA and Terrorizer? Till this day, even though you've said it on the record, there will never be a reunion with Pete, correct? Oh, yeah. I won't play with him. Why is he, why is he taking Terrorizer on the road? They're actually coming to Southern California. Did he write any of the original Terrorizer music? No, it was just me and Jesse, man. I wrote most of it. Jesse wrote up a percentage of it, but he wrote some of it. But pretty much I have most of the stuff, about 70, 75% of it. What is your, what is your sentiment about Pete having his own Terrorizer? Well, you know, he could do whatever he wants to do, man. I just don't really, I honestly don't really think about it, man. I, well, you know, I've gotten responses that shows from people that saw Pete Terrorizing and like in Mexico, I think those were the biggest compliments. They were saying that, uh, they saw Pete's Terrorizing and they saw, you know, my Terrorizer, but then I tell people it's just, you know, you know, our version, me or Vion, you know, Cobbs and Mike and Grums. I go, this is just our version of Terrorizer. And, uh, you know, a lot of people are saying that, uh, we're more, we're the real Terrorizer in the future. And I'm like, wow. I go, you know, a big compliment to us. Do you feel that the legacy is being tarnished by, uh, having two Terrorizers? Like, again, I really don't think about it. Uh, the one who bought me out of it, the one that, uh, wanted me to, well, wanted to deal with my life. I mean, I bought it, you know, we did it for that grind court thing. It was supposed to be a one thing, one thing deal, but, uh, people liked it so much. So we just continued with it. And, um, just writing off of it, man. And I'm actually thinking about writing some stuff, too, now. Really? Really? Yeah. For the first time, yeah. Well, I know Vion. That's a couple of new songs. Um. Um. Um. Um. Um. Um. I got a couple of songs. Maybe, maybe, uh, maybe an EP or split. We don't know yet. We don't know, Mike. So, um, people will trip out on them, too. You know, you mentioned that your wife was the one that convinced you to resurrect Terrorizer LA and to take it on the road and play live. Uh, do you thank her for that? I mean, because, I mean, I think you, I think you should, man. It's a lot of people. And I was always, like, you know, a little skeptic about doing that. I didn't really want to do it. So, um, but, like, for that Grand Corps, you know, they wanted it. And she only talked me into it. And the one key thing was, uh, you know, the guys, too. You know, what guys would do it. Um, you know, I brought in Leon. It's, you know, a great guitar player. Right. You know, since he was playing with Nasia the whole thing. So, you know, pretty much you could handle everything, you know, you do, man. who's a guitar player. And, you know, Kaz was there from the beginning, so who perfect, you know, play bass? Yeah, yeah, exactly. I mean, full circle. Which he was there from the beginning used to be our backup when he was older and that was missing in that time. And, you know, the hardest thing was the drums at the time because that's what people mostly look at. You know, no matter what drummer we get, he's always going to be compared to me. So, I think we got it pretty darn close with my, you know, the under-under bottom end. So, yeah, so, you know, that's what did it. But, yeah, you know, so I haven't, you know, so now, you know, so my wife was right about it. You know, she said that people wanted to see her. And, you know, we went to Europe, Mexico, we still here, the whole thing, and, yeah, people still want to see her. I think one of the greatest things ever is, is that you are finally, I'm not talking about your fans, you, you yourself are finally closing the chapter in all this. And you're doing it now for what we all are here for, which is the love, and you're getting the love back. I think it's also great that you have this mentality of not getting into this bickering or legalities or negativity. It's like, you know what, he's doing his thing, fuck him, whatever, I'm doing my thing. And this is what's really very commendable and respectable that I respect out of you is the fact that when I see you on stage, whether it's with Naja or Terrorizer, to me, it's the integrity and the real spirit of what I remember from back in the 80s. So I commend you on that, Oscar. Oh, thank you. Terrorizer LA, you're gonna be writing new, you're gonna be writing new music. You released Terrorizer before the downfall on FOAD records. Is that still available, by the way? As a matter of fact, I think I was talking to them, they were talking to me that actually I'm doing another press and order. I guess the first press and order is still down. Nice. We're talking about, well, they were actually talking to me about it, about re-releasing it again. So, I think it won't be a problem if it's coming back. And then also you're thinking of maybe maybe releasing a live album, but that's still up in the air. Right. I think from one of the live shows that we did, I think it sounded pretty good, but they want to release that. We've never released a live album. Well, you know what? I mean, everything is possible now, man. I mean, you're back with Terrorizer LA and Nasia. 7-20, July 20, San Diego, brick by brick, Terrorizer LA with Nails, July 21, Consolation Room, Santa Ana, Terrorizer LA with Nails, July 22, The Rocks, C-Theater, Hollywood, Terrorizer LA. Nasia, are you going to be writing any new music for Nasia now that you have new blood? We actually are right now. We're actually on the premiere of a new song on Saturday. What about Sunday? Same thing, same song. Nice. See how it goes. Of course, Michael threw in his stuff in there which we like pretty much, man. So much of the style that we wanted to get back to. A little wolf pack, you know, extremely style, but we really wanted to get back to that style again. Do you feel that you drifted from that sound when you had the other two members? Yeah, a little bit. A little bit, a little bit. Do you think Alejandro's V-necks t-shirts were the reason why you drifted? Just kidding, just kidding, just kidding. I don't know. You know, he has his style, man. He's a great, yeah, he's actually a great bass player. He's a great guy. Yeah, yeah, he is, man. Just fuck it around there. Don't get hurt. It's just, you know, just too bad, like a lot of things that don't work out, man. I go, you know. So, you know, we had to make changes, man, like I told you before, man. Me and Alejandro were just sitting around just in hiatus and we just want to bring this stuff back, man, but we're not done yet, man. I go, I still got one more album in me, man. Well, you know what, man? I hope you have more albums in you, but one of the things that I do respect you for is that you don't do it for, you know, financial gain. You don't do it for ego. You do it because, you know, you enjoy it and you have your priorities, right? Your children and your wife come first. Everything else is second and you know what? When you do it from the heart, it's always the best. All right, this Saturday, Characters and Pomona, you're going to be playing. Sunday, this is going to be the good one. The mini murder fest. You're coming back to Church of the A for the first time on Sunday. You're playing Sunday. Wow, how long ago was that, Dan, when Nausea played for you? Was that fucking like 94, 83? No, the first murder fest was 2003, but Nausea played. Oh, I'm sorry. Nausea also played, I can't remember because I don't have a memory anymore, but Nausea's played some of the other murder fests as well. Yeah, I do remember that. Like I said, the reason why is because when we were talking before, I've seen Nausea playing throughout the L.A. scene, you know, even before people realized the importance of what this band was and still is, and I will go on record and say there is only one terrorizer. That other one should not be. There is only one terrorizer. I mean, listen, I know you're a gentleman and you don't want to get into it, but I'll say it, I'm a dick, you know, plus I got no money, so who's going to sue me? I'll sue you. There is only one terrorizer. You are the original and the only. There you go. You know what, P was never nice to me anyways, fuck him. All right, Oscar, thank you so much for being here. Thank you so much for taking the time to talk to me, man. I wish you the best and I look forward to hearing new nausea music, which will be Saturday and Sunday, and I look forward to Terrorizer L.A. I wish you the best, man. Thank you, my friend. All right, thank you. Cheers. All right, let's repeat these dates. Saturday, characters in Pomona, nausea, Sunday, mini murder fest. That's going to be a great show. Let's also not forget Saturday, Saturday, who's playing Saturday, my friend? You're playing Saturday. You, you, you. It's right there, bro, right on the monitor. What does that say? Let's earn your money here. I can't read any of it, so. Oh, yeah. Well, yeah, so. I'm cryptic. Cattle decapitation and some archaic band that keeps saying they're going to play their last show and doesn't. Crematorium. Well, whatever, man. You played one last show and people keep asking us to play it. Fuck it, who cares? Milk it, man. What the fuck? Early Graves. If Kiss could do it, you could do it. Well, yeah, I'm bigger than Kiss, too. Take over, Larger Filet. Oh, that's right. That's why OG Dizzle D and the two fresh Eatin' All Night Posse. So, yeah, so then we go on with Soprophagus, which is another band from LA that's been around for a while. Hit his Rebirth. Deformity is an Aramis band. Oh, I can't wait to see him when Millhead been. Yeah. Imperialist and that logo that looks like somebody whacked off on the screen is Chaos Dimension. Oh, okay. Yes. Friday. Friday, we have, going up from the bottom, we have Beast Throne. Then we have Myconeth, which is a new kind of like, I think they call themselves Fungal Death Metal or something like that. Weird. Faust or Faolist, which is basically Great band. Yeah, that's another dude who's been in the scene for a long fucking time. Rob. Yeah, Rob. Then Winter Thrall, another band. He's doing Double Duty. Yep. And then Ghoul Gotha. So if you're into like the whole incantation emulation stuff, there you go. The guy's saying, actually, for incantation on a last minute thing the last time when incantation came through and unfortunately, they had, John McAtee had to go home because, yeah, somebody was, I think it was his mom was unfortunately sick. And then Grave Hill, which I like to call Grape Soda, is playing, which is another, you know, that's a band of guys who have been in so many bands and been holding it down in LA for many years. Great guys. The Mini Murder Fest is going on Friday, the 22nd, Saturday, the 23rd, Sunday, the 24th. Pick your day or go to all three days. Chester, let's play some Nausea. Take it away. Nausea. Nausea. Stardust, dark, green, what's empty? All is white, stardust now Search for something, black by the light Never die, don't you speak me down Stardust, dark, green, what's empty? And the town won't wait for the sequel! Oh, yes! Oh, yes! Oh, yes! Quench! All right, Dan Dismal, what did we hear? Oh, well, we heard some Behold the Monolith. I think the song was Philosopher's Blade off the Architects of the Void record. And then we heard one of my favorite bands, which is 16. First time I heard those guys was on a Cry Now, Cry Later composition that was put out by Chris Elder, who's the singer for Despise You. So he used to have his record label Pessimizer. So... A little scene history for you guys. That was on the Bridges to Burn record. It's called Throwing the Towel, which is what sometimes I feel like doing, but I don't. And both those bands are going to be playing the Mini Murder Fest, correct? Yeah, both of them are going to be on Sunday. With a lot of other great bands, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. How can people get tickets again? Once again, just go to churchofthe8thday.com, and it's 8th as the letter, not the letter, the number 8, T-H. But churchofthe8thday.com, or just search out Glendale.com. Glendale Complex, and then you'll find the links there. And let's mention this. It's a three-day event. Yep. Can't make it Friday, go Saturday. You can't make it Saturday, go Sunday. If you can make it all three, go. But the point is, is there some amazing bands that are going to be playing this three-day festival. Go out and support live music. And one more thing. Whether it's Dan Dismal, Church of the 8th Day, or any promoter, respect the venue, respect the promoter, respect the artist, respect yourselves. Dan, anything else to say? Yet again, if you guys, for all the shows that we do, churchofthe8thday.com, everything that we have, I totally tell you guys to go out and check out all the bands. When you go to the shows, buy their merch. Don't ask for it for free. Pick up their records. I'm guilty of that. Remember that none of these bands are making a ton of money. They need your support just as much as I do. And then again, at the end of the day, thank you all for supporting what we do, the true supporters of what I do. What I do is the fans and the ones who break bread and come up to the door and spend ridiculous amounts of money to see these events on a weekly, nightly, monthly, yearly, whatever it is, for 16 years. People of L.A. have supported this thing. Right on, man. Well, what about you, my friend? You've been talkative throughout the whole evening. Anything else you'd like to add there? I'd like to give a shout-out to the show's sponsor, which is Double D's Pissy Peas. Taste the tang of the wang. Are you serious? No, that's my... So I have a pickle business that I'm going to be starting. I also have a cheese business. It's my... I go under my stepfather's name, Richard. So it's Richard's Cheese. And then also my piss pickles that I will be serving at venues. So you guys, when you come in and you're hungry, you can go ahead and have Daniel Dismal's Piss Pickles. All right. Taste the tang of the wang. As we mentioned, Nasia will be playing Saturday and Sunday. Saturday at Characters in Pomona. Sunday at the Mini Murder Fest at the Complex in Glendale. Make sure you check them out. A Terrorizer LA will be coming July 20th, 21st, and 22nd. And on your face. Go check it out. The real Terrorizer. We're going to end the show with a track by a fantastic band called Winter Thrall, which features two amazing musicians that play in some incredible bands, Destroy Judas and fucking Faust and Evil Dead. And we can go on and on and on. They're going to be playing at the They're going to be playing Friday at the Mini Murder Fest. They are. So again, check out the Mini Murder Fest. Pick the day or go on all three days. And again, thank you for listening. See ya. Chester, take it away. See ya. Bye. Bye. Bye.!
