I am your host, Ken August.
And Drew Marks is back from a long hiatus.
How are you, buddy?
I have been away.
Is it true you were in an undercover drug sting in Mexico?
I'm not at liberty to say.
Because that is the story I've been passing on.
It's a good story.
I like it.
Every time you're not here, it's something else.
In that case, hola.
Oh, nice.
Very nice.
Two, three weeks ago, I believe I had you in North Korea doing comedy for King John Un, the uniest.
Will you help me welcome for the first time Vince Don Vito to the show?
Thank you, thank you.
How are you?
Vince, unbelievably nice man, despite the fact that his name sounds like they smushed three mob bosses together.
I'm like that, though.
I don't have the time to speak about such, you know, trivial things.
I have never seen him whack anybody, although we haven't known each other that long.
The day is young.
We can doling Don Vito's.
This episode of the Weekly Wrap-Up is brought to you by the Merchant Connections, secure and reliable billing solutions for all your business needs.
Coming up later in the show, three friends of the younger marathon bomber have been arrested for attempting to destroy evidence.
I can't even get my friends to drive me to the airport.
This guy's a terrorist and has better friends than I do.
Plus, has the red line been crossed when it comes to chemical weapons?
In deciding what to do, President Obama said we must uncover all the facts about what happened in Syria.
Dick Cheney responds with, eh, why do we need facts?
That was my Cheney impression.
How was that?
Was that all right?
Eh.
It's kind of an impression.
It's a little grumpier.
It's true.
Just a little grumpier.
I should think about my life before I do that impression.
Plus, the president says he wants to close Guantanamo Bay.
Guantanamo Bay is getting to be like that store in your neighborhood that has the going out of business sign hanging out there for three years, but nothing seems to be happening.
And what is more shocking, a five-year-old boy accidentally shooting his two-year-old sister with his gun, or that anybody would be shocked that a five-year-old with a gun accidentally shot somebody?
And Michael Jackson's family is reportedly suing AEG for billions of dollars.
They're blaming the company for ending their ability to mooch off their famous relative for another couple of decades.
But first, this week, another glass ceiling was shattered or danced through when NBA center Jason Collins spoke to Sports Illustrated about his sexuality.
Are you gay?
Guilty!
All right, maybe that wasn't him.
Now it's Peter Griffin, but here's Jason Collins on ABC News.
He's been insulted.
A net, a hawk, a grizzly, a timber wolf, and a wizard.
A seven-foot-tall, 255-pound, bruiser who spent 12 years in the NBA.
Jason Collins is making history with these simple words.
I'm a 34-year-old NBA center.
I'm black, and I'm gay.
You always knew you were gay?
Yeah, I sort of describe it as you know that the sky is blue, but you keep telling yourself that it's red.
So you fought it?
Yes, in the beginning.
I think they call it like the 12 steps, you know, you go through anger, denial, and all, you know, it's just...
But when you finally get to the point where you're like, to that point of acceptance, there's nothing more beautiful than just allowing yourself to, you know, really be happy and be comfortable in your own skin.
We talked last week about a Nevada senator who came out as a gay black man.
Why, first of all, do people feel the need to come out as a black man?
I don't understand why that keeps happening.
It's a very hard secret to keep.
I'm pretty sure...
I didn't know gays came in black.
That is...
It's like a black Barbie doll.
There's not too many...
There's not too many of them.
That is a new option.
He's played for about eight different teams.
He changes uniforms more than a showgirl changes her outfits.
So maybe that's it.
He's got a fetish for different uniforms.
We should have known he was gay.
We all know being black is a choice, and apparently gay is not.
He said, I am a 34-year-old NBA center.
I'm black and I'm gay.
And he is the first of a major U.S.
team sport to come out, active player.
Is it a big deal?
I ask you guys, is it a big deal?
Is it a big deal?
One.
And does anybody else is...
I don't want to say the floodgates open, because if they opened, we would have heard already, because it's been a few days, but is somebody else coming out sometime soon?
And what sport?
And if the floodgates are opening, what's the opening music?
Because it has to be a show tune, right?
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
Exactly.
Everybody, let's go.
They're coming out, and they're coming out stylishly.
The warm-up uniforms have sequins.
It's going to change certain things.
You know, like in the NFL, when they all come running out of the gate, and they're all running down, there's going to be like high kicks in the line now.
I don't expect those kind of changes, but do you think other people are coming out anytime soon?
Yeah.
In basketball, do you think, what sport do you think is coming out?
I mean, football is going to be a tough one.
Somebody will come out in football.
You think football is the next one?
Yeah.
I don't think you're going to see somebody come out like in MMA or boxing, because nobody wants to be the guy who got their ass kicked by the gay kid.
I'll tell you what.
Boxing, well, first of all, I don't know.
Yeah, I don't know how many gay boxers there are, but if...
If you are a top boxer and you're gay, I don't know what better position to come out than that.
That's true.
You are the guy who can beat the shit out of the man.
Beat somebody up.
You're rarely in that position.
Well, we do have that transgender MMA woman.
Is that true?
Yes.
Well, there's a transgender MMA fighter that went from a woman to a man.
No, she went from a man to a woman.
Yeah, you wouldn't want to go...
The other way.
Make it more difficult for yourself.
Right.
Is she allowed to fight, or are he allowed to fight?
We're not sure yet.
I think in a penis slapping contest, she now loses.
But it's going to be interesting.
I don't think we should care.
Let's actually...
Let's just go back to being men and women.
Whatever the guy does, if you like...
Well, you're the one that just threw in that.
Now we're just not sure.
But let's...
I just don't know what to do.
Do we have to get another restroom now?
Do we have to get...
Another locker room?
Another locker room.
No, I mean, here's the thing is...
I've been in a lot of...
I've been in a lot of...
I've been in a lot of...
I played college hockey.
I played hockey all the way through college.
And I'm sure, first of all, I'm sure it's just the likelihood of all the kids I played with going through, you know, as a kid, junior high, high school, and college, I'm certain there were some gay players.
Nobody randomly molested anybody else in a locker room.
So I don't think you necessarily have to worry about that.
I don't foresee it being a big problem.
But I also...
Like, I don't know if football...
Football, I think you'll have some...
I think if somebody come out...
The reason I say boxing, MMA, those sports tend to have a lot more bleeding in it.
And that will make people uncomfortable.
What about team sports?
So we're talking baseball.
I think baseball has a better chance of...
I was just going to say, I think baseball...
Baseball can easily be gay.
I don't think football, because I think football is so machismo that it's going to be very difficult.
Although basketball, there's a lot of carousing.
I mean, Jason Collins was engaged a year ago.
Yeah.
So that's an interesting wrinkle to the story.
And apparently, the fiancé had no idea he was gay.
gay, so apparently black men can fake it.
He called her and said, look, I faked every orgasm, I want you to know.
He is...
With ketchup packets.
I'm sorry, I called you George.
Yeah, he said that he tried to fool himself.
He tried to keep lying.
He thought he had to get married and have kids.
And make no mistake, this show is all for equal rights.
We commend Jason Collins for coming out, but that doesn't mean we don't appreciate a good opportunity for a joke.
So, let's get some of these out of the way right off the bat.
If you thought Jason Collins was good at stuffing the rim before, there's that.
Man, can that guy jam a hoop?
There's some of those.
Not much of an offensive player, but great ball handling skills.
Great post-up.
Great post-up.
When this guy takes it to the hole, he really takes it to the hole.
And those are about all I got.
Most of the responses, by the way, to him, other than that crap that I just said there, most of the responses have been phenomenal.
Kobe Bryant, athletes have come out, and Kobe Bryant, who got fined last year for a gay slur.
But again, just because people use gay slurs, I don't think makes them anti-homosexual.
No, no, no.
I think, especially in a sports world, I don't think any of us are saying it's a good idea, but there are words that have...
I've used homophobic slurs, and I'm not homophobic.
Yes, I mean, there's words that have used as a curse.
Sometimes it's just fun to say.
Now, some of the reactions, and most of the reactions were great.
He got a call from Obama.
He got a call from President Clinton, former President Clinton.
Joe Kennedy was his old college roommate, and that was one of the reasons he said he wanted to come out.
He said there was two main reasons why he wanted to come out now.
One was the Boston Marathon made him say, you know what, things change pretty quickly.
What am I waiting for?
The other one was his former roommate, Joe Kennedy, had marched, he's straight, but he marched in the Boston's Gay Pride Parade, and Jason Collins, he said, I'm not a jealous person, but I was jealous and I was angry that I couldn't support a straight friend of mine for doing, for supporting what I am, which is a tough place to be.
But a lot of the heat came on.
Mike Wallace, Mike Wallace.
60 Minutes?
No, not that Mike Wallace.
He's dead.
I don't think he said Mike Wallace.
I was going to say, that's dealer Mike Wallace.
Not anymore.
He's now Miami Dolphin Mike Wallace.
But yeah, same guy.
He immediately tweeted something like, I don't understand all these good-looking women in the world, and you want to mess with other guys.
Something.
Something.
Yeah, because it's as simple as that.
Can you tweet with a ghetto accent?
All these good-looking girls, and I don't understand why he got to go that way.
You know, I mean, there are people, I know I've got to stick to 140 characters, but it ain't funny in 140 characters.
You know, shit that's tweeting in Maine.
Chris Broussard, NBA analyst Chris Broussard, caught a lot of flack, or a little flack, when he said, I'm looking for the quote here, I don't agree with homosexuality, I think it's a sin, as I think all sex outside of marriage between a man and a woman is, if you're openly living in unrepentant sin, whatever it may be, that's walking in open rebellion to God and to Jesus Christ.
That is Chris Broussard, who did then clarify afterwards, when he caught some heat, saying he didn't back off of any of those statements, but he did say he thought he has no problems with gay people playing in the NBA, as if he would have a good argument for having a problem with that.
And he also, I believe, said that he commended Jason Collins for having courage for doing so.
He didn't call him a cornball brother.
He did not.
That gets you fired.
That is true.
That's like if he comes out and goes, I have no problem with them playing in the NBA.
You know, if they find their way off that island, we should be putting them all on.
Yeah.
I mean, well, what I don't understand is, when you're openly living like that, as if if you just lie about it, then you're fine.
Yeah, because God wouldn't know.
Yeah.
God doesn't know.
But he does say, God will tolerate it if you just keep it a secret.
If you just lie to God about it.
He does, though, he does specify, or does continue to say that the life of a Christian, he explains, you stumble and fall and you get back up and you ask God for forgiveness and you move on.
That applies to homosexuals as well, which I don't think really helped his cause when you're trying to backtrack.
So he was saying, when you're down on your knees, basically.
When you're down on your knees, keep your mouth closed and apologize to God.
Squeeze.
Leroy Butler, former Green Bay Packer, also was, this is an interesting story, also was paid $8,500, I believe, to give an anti-bullying talk in at a church.
But he tweeted congratulations to Jason Collins, and so the church canceled his speaking engagement.
He said, hey, you realize, they said, you can still speak, but you have to take back what you said and ask God for forgiveness publicly.
And he said, you realize...
You're bullying me.
Yeah, that's what he said.
You realize that I was going to talk about what you guys are doing to me right now, and they went, we disagree.
He said, okay, well, we agree to disagree.
He went, no, no, you're wrong, I'm right.
That is the church's response.
Good for Leroy.
Leroy Butler, that's standing up.
I just want to say something for the religious point of view.
Not that I am one of the Bible thumpers, but I just think that there are going to be people that are resistant to change.
It's coming sooner or later.
But if you've been brought...
It's the idiots die off, yes.
But even...
I don't think we should call them idiots.
This is what they were taught.
This is what they read, and they follow the scripture like it's the word of God.
Like they want to.
They follow the part of the scripture.
They follow the scripture that they can and want to follow.
Now, I understand what you're saying, but this brings me to this question.
It's not that ambiguous, and I'll tell you why, because this brings me to the question that I want to ask you guys, is how long is religion going to be an acceptable excuse for any sort of bigotry?
20 minutes.
20 more minutes?
Okay, fantastic.
By the end of the show, when we're walking out, we're going to go arm in arm with all the homeless.
I mean, because I don't think that's an acceptable excuse anymore.
Hey, you know what?
My God preaches this.
Okay, great, but hey, what's your name?
Chris Broussard.
Have you ever covered a playoff game on a Sabbath?
Because if so, you need to be put to death immediately, according to Exodus 35-2, whatever the hell that is.
I love Exodus 35-2.
I was going to have that on my jersey.
Yes, tattoo it right there on your forehead.
I mentioned to you the Dr. Laura letter, and I'm not going to read the whole thing, but years ago, she did the whole Leviticus and homosexuality is a sin, and somebody who is a professor of theology, I believe, wrote her a letter years ago and said, thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's law.
A few more, then says, will you please help me in explaining some of these to people?
When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, as I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord, in Leviticus 1-9, the problem is my neighbors.
They claim the odor is not pleasing to them.
How should I deal with this?
I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as it suggests in Exodus 21-7.
In this day and age, what would be a fair price?
Leviticus 25-44 states, I may buy slaves from the nations that are around us.
A friend of mine says that can apply to Mexicans, but not to Canadians.
Is that true?
I'm not sure.
I just put a couple of bids in on eBay this morning, so I'm going to have to check them.
I might have to check my phone.
I hope you win.
And here you go.
I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath.
Clearly, Exodus 35-2 states he should be put to death.
Do I have to kill him myself?
Well, how are we going to integrate religious, the Bible, and God in the 21st century?
It's going to be impossible.
Well, yeah, it is impossible.
One is based on logic and science, and the other one is based on 2,000-year-old mythical stories.
So, at some point in time, like Drew was saying, these people die off, and hopefully that'll be enough.
But what seems to happen is as the numbers of religious people get less, they seem to be digging in deeper.
Digging in really tough.
Yeah.
Alright.
Well, whether they're gay or not, three friends of the younger Marathon bomber are now facing years of gay sex.
Listen to this from ABC News.
New arrest in the Boston bombing investigation.
Three of Jahar Zarnayev's best friends have been charged with obstructing justice and lying to investigators.
Rebelle Filobos, Dias Kudryabov, and Asma Tizerkov are now facing charges of obstruction of justice and making false statements to the FBI.
This morning, court documents say the men intended to slow down a major terrorist investigation by destroying key evidence.
Just hours after the press conference where the FBI released images of the Marathon bombers, Jahar's friends began to suspect he was involved.
At 8.43 p.m., investigators say one of the roommates text Jahar, saying he looks like the suspect on television.
Jahar allegedly responds, LOL, you better not text me.
Come to my room and take whatever you want.
The men reach out to Filobos and meet at Jahar's college dorm room in Pinedale Hall.
Inside, they discover a laptop and a backpack containing hollowed-out fireworks.
They make the decision to leave with the items and throw them away in this dumpster behind their apartment.
One of the men's attorneys say they were just helping a friend and were not truly clear on what he may have done.
Not clear.
Now, Drew, I've known you for years.
You're a good friend of mine.
Would you destroy evidence for me?
Well, it depends what.
I think we all have that thing, like, if I drop dead, right?
You know how to get in my house.
I would want you, and you know there's some freaky stuff in there.
Before my mom or something shows up, I mean, every friend needs somebody to go through and just get the stuff that would make her think maybe her son was not a decent human being.
You would want me to get rid of the dead hooker in the closet.
The dead bodies of the walk-in freezer.
You do have a walk-in freezer.
You know, the suitcase, full of weird sex toys, that sort of stuff.
You gotta get rid of that.
Yeah, I'm not touching that stuff.
I mean, if it's in some sort of plastic bag, alright, I'll put the glove on, but I'm not touching that stuff.
You better have that shit pre-packed, is all I'm saying.
It's all, it's fine.
It's been sterilized.
Yeah.
I mean, where are these guys' heads at?
They had to know exactly, they had to put the pieces together.
They're 19-year-old kids.
I disagree.
You are giving people too much credit.
I think they're like, they were taking hollowed-out fireworks.
They're not thinking.
I am with them.
Here's why I'm with them, though, is because, I'm not the kids, I'm with Vince in this, is because I'm not saying they had him.
First of all, I'm not convinced they didn't know shit beforehand, because they're hanging out with a guy.
I'm not saying people don't kill people and do weird shit, and there's usually the neighbor going, he seems like a wonderful person, you never saw it coming.
Never knew anything but a nice guy to me.
Exactly.
But a month earlier, he's randomly telling his friends, hey, I know how to make a bomb.
Yeah.
That's not a normal, if you tell me that, I remember that.
Shit.
Now, okay, I'm not necessarily doing anything about it, but if a month later, I see your picture after a bomb, I'm pretty sure that's you.
You can put two and two together.
Yeah, and I really don't need two when they show me a fucking picture of you on TV and go, hey, this guy, this guy that you've been hanging out with, we're looking for him.
We've got a bombing, we've got a picture of my friend, we've got my friend saying I know how to make a bomb.
Yes, we'll go and take whatever you want from my dorm room, and they couldn't put those things together.
And then when they get there, they see the hollowed out fireworks and the computer.
Why take his computer?
I could even see...
Well, if someone tells you you can take what you want, you're going to take something of value.
Well, but they didn't take it, they threw it away.
Yeah, but I'm saying they took the other stuff.
No, they didn't throw away the computer.
No.
The kid still has the laptop.
The kid has the laptop.
See, that's smart.
Take the laptop.
Yeah, they took the laptop.
That's what I'm saying, they weren't trying to destroy it.
They got rid of stuff.
Well, what they did, they did look at a backpack with emptied fireworks with all the with all the powder out of it, and went, and already had seen the picture of their friend as a suspect, and went, you know what?
We'll take that.
And then they ended up going, oh shit, there's a firefight, craziness is happening, let's throw this shit away.
We didn't know he was Chinese working on his explosion.
Listen, if you were, it was amazing, that clip that you played from Stephanopoulos, we can say Stephanopoulos so he can stay, but if we can't pronounce your name, you gotta go now.
That is why I had the audio clip say these guys' names.
There was no way to learn Tsarnaev.
Right.
Yeah.
He can stay because he's gonna stay in prison.
So he's gonna stay, but those other guys do not mess with us.
And I think...
Well, one of them's American.
Filippos was American, one of the three.
See, when we start naming Americans Filippos, we're gonna have problems.
His first name was Robel.
I'm not sure that changes your answer.
All I'm saying is, you've got kids, and also remember, we're just getting the reports.
I'm not saying conspiracy theories, but sometimes you'll find out later it may not have been exactly as it's first reported.
Yeah, no doubt.
And so these kids could have taken a thing and go, oh, cool, look, you know, fireworks.
And then not realize they were hollowed out till later and go, wow.
Did you see the picture?
Did you see the picture?
Yeah, there's no doubt.
There was empty paper wrappers.
It's not like they looked untouched.
They were...
This is gonna be awesome!
It's the way you would make a blunt.
Apparently, you say.
Rumor has it.
Allegedly.
Of the word allegedly.
Allegedly, because I'm not saying I did it.
So, Drew, then let me ask you.
You're giving these guys more benefit of a doubt than Vince and I.
So what kind of penalty do these people have?
Let's say they did not know.
Let's just go under this assumption right now.
They knew nothing about the bomb pre-bomb.
Knew nothing about it before it went off.
After it went off, they eventually figured out, oh, shit, let's grab this in case he needs us to hide this shit.
Oh, this is getting big.
Let's just throw it away.
Still.
All of that.
Just that as is.
What kind of penalty?
I'm not sure.
I'm not looking to put him life in prison.
They screwed up.
Life in prison?
No.
But you're putting him in prison, I assume.
Eh, maybe even probation.
Really?
You're an idiot.
No, they didn't do anything.
Your country is going to be destroyed.
I don't mean America.
I mean your country.
Whatever country you run...
They're not violent criminals, man.
They're not.
They're not violent criminals, but they should be put in...
I like the word probation.
Let's probe them so hard.
I mean, I'm not saying they should be life in prison either.
I'm not saying that.
If that is...
If the situation that I just spelled out...
These are not Guantanamo-type characters.
I'm not saying put him in Guantanamo, but I'm saying if there is...
That's the perfect spot for him.
Yeah, dude.
If Christopher Dorner...
If Christopher Dorner, when he was killing cops, if he had a friend who went, oh, shit, you know what?
Here's his gun that he just killed these three cops with.
Let me hide these three guns while they're looking for him.
That guy should go to jail.
These people blew up a fucking eight-year-old.
They blew up a shitload of people, and these guys knew it at that point in time.
I'm not buying they didn't know anything.
But I agree with you that they should.
I mean, as far as going to prison for life, no, I don't think so unless you find out that they knew something in advance, which I'm not fully convinced.
Like you said, we know the whole story.
I have no idea what these guys knew.
Or the extent of what they took out of there.
There's a few leaves on this artichoke that still need to be peeled back.
The fact that they went in there and watched movies before they did anything does play into Drew's...
Yeah, these are not, like...
smart-thinking criminal activities.
No, needless to say, this is not actually Dartmouth that they went to.

Real radio on the internet.
It seems more and more likely that Syria has crossed the so-called red line by using chemical weapons, so the U.S.
government is considering downgrading the red line to a magenta line because nobody gives a shit if you cross a magenta line.
Listen to this from Euronews.
President Barack Obama has confirmed evidence of chemical weapons being used in Syria.
However, questions remain over their exact usage.
During a press briefing, the U.S.
leader reiterated his position to not make any hasty decisions without being absolutely sure of the facts.
What we now have is evidence that chemical weapons have been used inside of Syria, but we don't know how they were used, when they were used, who used them.
That is a game-changer because what that, uh, portends is potentially even more devastating attacks on civilians.
And it, it raises the strong possibility that those chemical weapons can fall into the wrong hands.
Clarifying his position, President Obama said he would review all available options, making his strongest indication yet of further intervention in the Syrian conflict, which until now has consisted of non-lethal aid to the rebels.
All right, so here's the problem.
What do you do even if they used it?
I mean, it's...
Yeah.
You said a red line that you were like, oh, shit, I didn't know they were gonna cross that red line.
Now what do I do?
He just said, we need to make sure they have, uh, the chemical weapons.
We know they've used them.
You've just contradicted yourself.
Let, allow me to say right now, President Obama, you are a pussy.
No, I'm not saying go, go, uh, go full, go full, speaking of pussy, go full Bush, and, uh, you know, just go in there and jump on these guys, but you can't, you can't, uh, draw...
I dare you to cross this line, Yosemite Sam!
Yeah.
And then not, and then not back, back it up.
Well, that would, that would be my question is, does it hurt credibility if you set a red line and then you don't do anything about it?
On the other hand, is, is the problem now more of his reaction or more of the fact that he shouldn't have set the red line?
Because what do you do?
You can't, nobody here, even most of the hawks here don't want any boots on the ground.
We like to say you should do something, but nobody has an answer as to what to do.
What, what...
And then they'll be critical if he does it.
If he does it, it's critical.
Like, if he does it and it doesn't work out perfectly.
Like, let's say...
What if you set up a no-fly zone?
Which would not be easy to do anyway.
Right.
Our planes then get shot down.
It's like, our people are getting shot down.
Well, the Wicked Witch had the flying monkeys.
Obama's got the drones.
Send, you know, fly, drones, fly!
And let them do their thing.
I can't imagine, other than Israel, I can't imagine how much evidence we would need to convince other countries.
I mean, are we not, after Iraq, are we not the country that cried wolf at this point in time?
Like, even if we have proof, do we not basically have to go in with, like, six different angles of video footage of Assad saying, yeah, you know what?
Do it.
Do it now.
Here's a picture of him holding it.
That's what I'm saying.
How do you convince him?
But what else do you do?
And Israel ain't waiting for us, so we may get pulled into it anyway, because Israel just bombed, as of late last night, they bombed a warehouse that both the U.S.
and Israel, Israel's not saying much, the U.S.
is saying that that warehouse was holding, was storing weapons that were higher-tech weapons that were going to Hezbollah.
Right.
That were coming from Iran.
Well, also, but there's an order of events.
Hezbollah had expressed that they were willing to support Assad prior to that.
They're like, they would help him fight to stay in power.
So Israel is then thinking, okay, our sworn enemy, you know, it's like the friend of my friend, or my friend's friend is, you know, the enemy.
You should work on that thing before you bring it out.
Yeah, exactly.
No, the enemy of...
If you pick a fight with...
If you pick a fight with my friend, you're picking a fight with me.
That's not the quote I was going for.
But the meaning is the same.
Yeah.
Right, but the problem is, is they're not, I mean, it's less of a, I think of a, you know, they're supporting them so that we're now tying them in as much as they're saying, we're watching weapons that are going from Iran, being stored here, and then they're going from here to Hezbollah.
We're not waiting, because if those weapons get to that border, then they can bomb us much deeper past, you know, our border than we originally wanted to, much deeper into Israel.
So this is the second time in the last few months they've gone in and just...
Now, they didn't go over their airspace.
They went over Lebanon's airspace and went, we're just going to fucking bomb you from here.
But how is that not going to bring us in?
I mean, if there's...
It may not bring us in, because there may not be a response.
But if there's a response, are we going to let Israel go by themselves?
I don't see Syria...
That's the thing.
I don't see...
They see how Syria responds to Israel.
They've got enough going on.
What are they going to do?
Pick a fight with Israel now?
Well, no.
What they'll try to do is they will basically try to do what a lot of people in that area who are fighting will do, is they try to get everybody to rally together by saying, hey, look, the Jews did it.
There you go.
Which is, you know, that works in...
I'd like to speak to all...
Does this go out to the Muslim countries?
Yes.
To all the Arab countries.
To all...
I need that, the Muslim prayer speaker.
To all my Arab brothers, please just leave Israel alone.
Just let them be.
Let them do their thing.
Let them eat their food.
Let's leave them alone.
Leave them alone.
Thank you.
We are done.
So, yeah.
Syria, over 70,000 people.
That is still going on.
That place is crazy.
People are starving.
They've been tortured.
People are held captive for no reason.
Oh, wait, that's not Syria.
That's the U.S.
prison in Guantanamo Bay.
Listen to this from CBS News.
But, President, as you're probably aware, there's a growing hunger strike at Guantanamo Bay among prisoners there.
Is it any surprise, really, that they would prefer death rather than have no end in sight to their confinement?
Well, it is not a surprise to me that we've got problems in Guantanamo, which is why when I was campaigning in 2007 and 2008 and when I was elected in 2008, I said we need to close Guantanamo.
I continue to believe that we've got to close Guantanamo.
I think it is critical for us to understand that Guantanamo is not necessary to keep America safe.
Meanwhile, you continue to force feed these folks.
No, I don't want these individuals to die.
I don't want them to die.
I want them to live in a box indefinitely.
Is that not, is that wrong?
He just contradicted himself in the last two clips.
Well, I disagree with the contradiction of the previous clip.
Okay.
Although I can't remember necessarily what it was because I didn't cut you off at the time.
But with the new arrests and the, do you remember what the hell you were saying when you said his contradiction was?
I don't remember where I am right now.
We need to, he said we need to close it.
He said that in 2006, 2007.
He was campaigning the first time.
But he can't just with a stroke of a pen close it.
He does some other things with a stroke of a pen.
Technically, he can't close it with a stroke of a pen.
He can individually, and he has not done this.
He individually on a case by case basis can himself get rid of, let people be transferred.
To what, a federal prison?
No, no, not to our own lands, to another country.
Yes, but they don't want to let them go.
Well, he has, no, no.
He has the right.
He has the right.
To on a case by case basis.
Unfortunately, he has to do things like, he has to claim each case is for national security to release somebody.
But, and he can't do it on our, like the Congress has already said you can't release people on our land.
And now they've come with, like a big problem is 50 something people have been, are from Yemen.
And Congress went, you know what?
Yemen's not a stable place.
So you can't return people to Yemen.
And you're like, well, okay.
So who wants to take them?
Why don't we do what we do when we catch one of those people?
If we catch raccoons, why don't we set them off into the forest?
That'd be good.
Okay.
And let them find their own little caves.
If that forest is not in the U.S., then they're fine.
Send them to Canada.
It's cold.
Let them freeze.
There are here.
I mean, there's some crazy.
Well, you do run into a problem.
We have not done anything to make those people there like us a whole lot.
So if you let them go, I think it's pretty safe to say they're going to be like, I can't wait to get back at somebody.
We're not really rehabilitating them.
No, we're not.
But I also, I read something this morning where they're outraged because they're not going to be able to go.
Because the U.S.
officials handled their Korans roughly.
Well, that was the first thing that started the, that started the.
And the burning.
No, no, no.
No, no, no.
This is different.
This is a different thing.
This is a different thing.
This is a different thing.
That was a year ago.
This is, they, they went in and they started searching and they were searching the cells and they were saying that they were rough when looking through the Korans.
They were not handling the Korans properly.
But then that has now grown into more detainees and they're basically, they're basically using it more as, hey, this fucking place is still open and you guys are forgetting about it.
But here's the problem.
There's 166 people in there.
And what is it?
86 of them, I believe, have been cleared by the U.S.
to be transferred out of here.
86 of the 166 detainees are eligible for release or transfer to another country's custody.
Not all of them are just outright free, but of those 86, some of them have to go to other countries.
Some of them are, 50 of those 86 are Yemen and we're not going to send them to Yemen.
So we just keep them in a box until that is the case.
I mean, how in the world are these people?
So they went on a hunger strike.
Now there's 25 of those people that are being force fed.
That is by the way, why I am grossly out of shape is because I force feed myself.
So I don't really know if that's the same thing.
Can we send you to Yemen?
If you think prison food is bad, try taking it nasally, by the way.
That's not a good thing.
I mean, what do you do?
The Congress, I mean, literally it's disgusting because you got Congress going, well, this is a political point.
Yet you have people that have just been swept up in this.
Don't get me wrong.
There are, we have certain people in Camp 7 of Guantanamo.
Those are the high 14 targets, the high value targets, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
People like that, I'm not saying should be, you know.
If you're a Sheikh, you have to stay.
Right.
Especially a strawberry Sheikh.
Now here's the problem is I don't.
I mean.
He's purple.
He is purple.
He is purple.
And he looks delicious.
I mean, what do you do?
I mean, what the hell do you do?
You're not going to close the place.
You're not going to send these people anywhere else.
I mean, ultimately, we want to keep them contained in a prison setting.
The mistake, I don't know how you fix it now, but the original mistake was we should have just tried them in courts.
We have great success at it.
Right.
Now you can't.
You created this problem, but because you didn't read a Miranda rights and all this other stuff, so if you put them into a regular court system.
Well, they're not US citizens, so we don't need to Mirandize them.
No, but we can't still legally, we're legally.
There's still due process that they should be.
Right.
And a puppet courtroom.
I have one suggestion.
With Jack Nicholson as the judge.
Now you got it.
Now I like it.
What's that?
And you did not hear this here.
Oh yeah, we did.
But it's like, oh man, didn't see that fire coming.
Yeah, you're not a good person.
But now here's the thing.
Maybe in camp seven, but yeah, no, you're not a good person.
I will not, I will not collect all your sex toys when something happens to you now.
You are gross.
But I mean, like you were saying.
You heard it from two marks.
Yeah.
What you were saying is you can't.
I'm saying you have to kill them.
No, no, not that part.
Before that, before you got dumber than usual.
What I'm saying is you, I mean, what the fuck do you do with these people?
You can't put them into a regular court now because you have already done things where you're like, well, as soon as you put someone on trial and he goes, oh, well, I've been actually kept in a box or tied up for the last, you know, seven years.
Okay, you're free.
So once you set that up, you can't, I don't even understand how they argue that we need to put them in a regular court.
You can't do that anymore.
They can't go to a regular court.
They, this is the way, this is a military court.
So they're not going to have the same criteria.
Then charge somebody in a military court.
Why are we not doing that?
I don't know.
I think both sides, conservative and liberal, are agreed, let's do something with them.
Let's either lock, let's figure out a way to lock them up forever.
Do you really believe that the conservatives have said that?
I think, I think they need Guantanamo Bay to, I think the purpose that it serves is important.
Do we not have blacks, enough black sites that aren't here, that are overseas, that we could do the same thing with?
Well, apparently torture is illegal, so.
Right, but it's, it's harder to deny when we're doing it.
That's true.
All right.
Speaking of, dangerous criminals, a five-year-old boy was playing with the gun he got as a gift a year earlier when he accidentally shot his sister.
Who didn't see this coming?
Apparently, everybody in Kentucky.
Listen to this on WGN-TV.
A five-year-old boy shot and killed his two-year-old sister with a .22 caliber rifle, a rifle he'd received as a gift.
The coroner in Cumberland County, Kentucky, describes the death as, just one of those crazy accidents.
And the children's mother was at home at the time.
The child-sized gun made by Keystone, Sporting Arms, is marketed as, My First Rifle, with vibrant colors and designs.
Authorities say the boy was used to shooting the gun, and it was kept in the corner of their home.
The family didn't realize a bullet had been left in the chamber.
First of all, this is Kentucky, so I think there's a decent chance this was just a domestic dispute between lovers.
You two, you just go outside and play with your guns.
Go ahead.
Just go ahead.
Mama can be in here.
I'm sure gun manufacturers are now looking to make guns for two-year-olds so they can protect themselves from an armed five-year-old who's acting like a child.
I mean, is this, how are these people?
It's an untapped market.
I heard, I also heard Texas, I don't know if this is true, I heard Texas wants to pass a law forcing pregnant women to swallow a tiny gun so that the fetus has a weapon on them.
In the womb training.
There you go.
Well, it'll cut down on abortions.
You come near that woman and like a little arm comes out, back off.
I'm gonna fire a warning shot.
This is, yeah, the county coroner said, Stand your womb.
What is more, more unusual.
Stand your womb.
That fetus better not have a hoodie on or everything's fucked.
Yeah.
I don't understand.
The county coroner says, what is more unusual than a child having a gun is that a kid would get shot with it.
No, that's not that unusual when a child has a gun.
Has a gun, yeah.
Like, you should see what I have done with my GI Joe when I was a kid.
This is just stupid parenting.
I mean, there's culture, there's gun culture out there which is not gonna stop where obviously there's...
But they make, this wasn't an adult's gun.
This wasn't a gun that got to a kid.
This was a kid's gun that was made for him that was given to him as a gift when he was four.
And that's what it was made for.
Which is pretty remarkable, but you'd think that a four-year-old, a five-year-old needs to be supervised.
There are kids that are gonna go out.
I have a friend who's...
You wouldn't give a four-year-old a car.
No, I wouldn't.
I wouldn't tell a four-year-old to go, hey, go cook this in the oven for me either.
Right.
But here's a weapon.
I'm sure they go out hunting.
I'm sure it's part of that culture.
We don't understand it being city slickers.
But I'm sure...
I know, but just because it's a culture doesn't make it not stupid.
And just because you can make anything a culture doesn't mean we should.
India has added rape into their culture recently.
I don't know if you guys follow the news, but I'm not sure that's a great idea.
We should bring the guns into India.
That might not be a bad idea, at least for the women.
Armed vaginas.
This is just stupid parenting.
It's really...
Yeah.
But it goes beyond stupid parenting.
You...
I bet they're...
You allow stupid parenting when you start...
Allowing kids to have weapons.
Allowing kids to have guns.
This is the Cumberland County judge executive who is pretty much like a mayor, they say, in that county, is shocked.
He said, it's been four or five years since there's been a shooting like this in this county.
There's 1,500 people in that county.
So every four years a kid shoots another kid and you're like, oh, that ain't so bad.
Here's the other thing that I would say is, you know, things like cigarettes are...
Alcohol, it's like, not allowed for under 18.
If, as a parent, you gave your kid alcohol or drugs or something like that, or even tobacco, you would be subject to arrest.
Right.
And prosecution.
A smart parent would not let their drunk five-year-old drive, though.
Right.
Yeah, which is nice.
But you understand what I'm saying?
But yet, and why are you not supposed to give them that?
Because it, you know, things will happen.
Republican voter you guys have.
Just, you've just done away with one less Republican, so don't worry about it.
I got no problem with these people killing themselves off.
Let me throw out this bit of ridiculousness as well.
The grandmother of the girl that was killed, obviously she's devastated, but she said she's comforted knowing that her granddaughter is in a better place.
Quote, it was God's will.
It was her time to go, I guess.
I know she's in heaven right now, and I know she's in good hands with the Lord.
Now, this is what is wrong with fucking people, by the way.
This is why stupid people, this is so outrageously stupid.
Instead of saying, maybe a five-year-old, right, instead of saying, maybe a five-year-old shouldn't have access to a deadly weapon, they don't blame, they don't blame it on God.
They credit God with letting a two-year-old get shot in the chest so she can have a better place to be.
What kind of fucking moronic logic is that?
These are people that don't know what the word dentist means.
I do, look, I agree with the grandmother in one respect.
She is in a better place.
She is in a better place.
Yeah, that is valid.
All right, lastly on this topic, New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte was, this is, it's been, it happened a couple of times where she has been confronted.
She had her first couple of public appearances since voting against background checks, which I believe was 89% approval rating for the background checks in New Hampshire, which is right around the national average.
And she voted no.
And so she was confronted a couple of times.
The first time by the daughter of the slain Sandy Hook Elementary School principal.
And she stood up and said, you had mentioned the day you voted that owners of gun stores that the expanded background checks would harm.
I am just wondering why the burden of my mother being gunned down in the halls of her elementary school isn't more important than that.
And Kelly Ayotte's response was that we are right now, my focus has been on wanting to improve our current background check system.
So she wants to improve the system that everybody knows, everybody knows has enormous loopholes.
Don't have a universal background check.
Have, I want to, I want to, I want to use the system that, if you don't want to use a background check, you can just go to online or a gun show.
Like, that doesn't make any fucking sense.
Hey, well, we're trying to get rid of the loopholes.
No, no, let's not get rid of the loopholes.
Let's, you know, let's keep the loopholes and make that system work.
Like that, that's ridiculous.
That is a ridiculous, ridiculous lie.
She's lying because she's saying I would like to fix the problem of background checks.
But I won't do anything.
But let's do anything to change it.
I think they're trying that what, I think we go about things and we try and fix it in one fell swoop instead of saying we can't do it all at once.
So why don't we just attack it piece by piece?
But that's far too rational to just take one, like, one bit of the law.
Like, let's just make sure we either cut out straw purchases or let's make sure we have background check.
Let's make sure we have all these agencies that can talk to each other but apparently don't.
Yes.
You can take logical steps.
You can, look, it's like that thing.
It's like, how do you make, how do you carve an elephant out of a piece of granite?
You take a piece of granite and cut away everything that doesn't look like an elephant.
Okay?
So you can start, you make one thing.
It's like, okay, eliminate, you know, the gun show purchases.
The problem is, and then you look at it and go, okay, what else will help this thing?
Right.
But the problem is, and I agree with you, the problem is, is logic has nothing to do with it.
Anything you do, you can't logically argue background checks would hurt except for they say, they scare you with, well, it's going to be a gun registry.
Eventually they're coming for your guns.
Okay.
So make up your mind.
Is this president such a dictator that he's coming for your guns, yet he's the same guy that is hoping it can pass the Senate?
Like, make up your mind.
Is this guy coming for shit or does he actually need everybody to vote for it first and then maybe down the road when he's not in office anymore, he's coming for your guns?
Like, what the fuck are you talking?
Not you, but the logic does not.
Both of you.
Yeah, he's got three years basically to pull all of this off.
There was a stat that came out, you know, through the Rachel Maddow page and the MSNBC page which said, all of the representatives, senators that voted against the gun control bill are getting money from the NRA.
I'm sure all of them are getting money from the NRA.
Oh yeah, that's certainly not just Republicans by any stretch, but Republicans do, are much closer tied to the NRA.
We have a little more.
Well, and forget it, I don't even know how much money, but you guys are tied to getting that vote, getting a good score so they will stay in office.
But yeah, as far as people who voted against the background checks, Mark Begich from Alaska, a Democrat, he went down six points since then.
Lisa Murkowski from the United States from Alaska, a Republican, went down 16 points since voting against.
And Rob Portman went down 18 points, although he also came out for his gay son, so that hurt him.
That was eight points out of the 16.
At least, probably at least.
You know, there's an easy way to solve this problem.
Let's cut out lobbyists.
Oh yeah, you mean legal bribery?
Yeah, let's cut out lobbyists.
Because you know what, our representatives don't even want to follow the same rules that their constituents have to follow.
They're not going to be burdened by Obamacare.
They're not going to be burdened by any of the things that they're allowed to insider trade with companies that they do business with.
So until we start cutting out these lobbyists, these, you know, legal bribery, so let's just get the NRA out of this equation and get all of the pharmaceutical companies out of the equation.
So there's, again, really logical ways to fix these problems.
But of course, we want to go, no, the NRAs are bad guys.
No, they're businessmen and they just want to make money.
They want to sell guns.
Well, yeah, that doesn't make them not bad.
When your logic is not good, no matter what the hell, when your motivation is, I want to, when your motivation is, I don't give a shit what happens.
There is no answer, no answer at all or no question at all where their answer would be, oh, we should probably limit that.
Their whole goal is to sell as men as much gun and ammo as they can.
That's their goal.
So yes, they're, you know, they're motivated by profit.
That doesn't not make them scumbags by any stretch of the imagination.
These are the same guys that years ago went, all right, we're for, we're for background checks.
Not anymore.
Not anymore.
They went, hey, that system that we have, that's all loopholes.
It's not working.
So why are we going to do background checks now?
You're like, well, it's because there's fucking loopholes.
We want to fix that.
No, can't help you.
Can't help you.
I don't want to lose my vote.
Something interesting this week in California, they just set up a task force or found the funds, Governor Brown, to people that have, have obtained guns legally that have gotten in trouble subsequently.
So, so let's say, Ken, you, you buy a gun, 10 years ago, but five years ago, you've either committed a crime or had a restraining order.
Now your gun needs to come away.
So they're finally starting to go after those people to get those weapons back, which is great.
That is great.
Now, we have the systems.
Why aren't we doing it?
Because it costs too much money.
Well, it costs too much money and the loopholes are still ridiculous.
They do all that and then that guy goes, oh, okay, so I just have to now go online or go to a gun show and buy.
That's what I'm saying.
The guys, guys on terror watch lists, 90%, there's 1,400 people on the, terror watch list in the last few years tried to buy guns with a background check and over 90%, over 1,300 of them were successful.
Not a problem.
Sure.
Just buy it.
All right, we got to move on.
They're just, Drew, were you about to say something?
Go ahead.
No, go ahead.
You got, what do you got?
I think one of the biggest problems is just you have the culture where they're saying, look, it's, the cat's already out of the bag.
Okay.
You're not going to be able to get rid of it.
So let's not do anything.
And that's, that seems to be the right side.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The argument is anytime you come up with a system, if I can come up, we can't fix it completely.
If I can come up with a way around anything, then we should just not do anything.
Right.
I mean, the whole logic of people will find ways around, you're like, well then why do you outlaw anything?
Yeah.
You're not going to get rid of 100%.
No one's saying the goal is 100% success here.
Even if the success is 40%, it doesn't matter what number you put to it.
If it is going to improve anything, anything, from what it is now, it's worth doing.
But the other side does not factor into that argument at all.
Drew, Drew, fresh off his month, his month hiatus while working.
Exactly.
Which, which came two weeks after his brief stint with Cirque du Soleil.
I also spread that rumor.
I'm very limber.
There are just too many crazy people in the world, as we were saying, to have such easy access to high powered weapons.
Speaking of crazy people.
Speaking of crazy.
Listen to this about the family of Michael Jackson.
Members of the Jackson family arrive in an L.A.
court for a lawsuit into the death of the king of pop, Michael Jackson.
Catherine Jackson, the singer's mother, is suing AEG Live, the promoters of a series of comeback concerts for negligence.
The family believe AEG Live hired and failed to vet Dr. Conrad Murray before he was employed as Jackson's personal physician.
Lawyers for AEG Live say Jackson selected Murray and he was never an AEG employee.
The Jacksons insist that Murray was under pressure from AEG to get Jackson ready for the tour despite his delicate health.
Conrad Murray is currently serving a four year jail term for involuntary manslaughter after he was found guilty of administering a combination of sedatives and the anesthetic propofol which led to the singer's death.
That was some Euro news.
So, Jackson...
Of course it was.
Yeah, exactly.
So Jackson's family is claiming AEG pushed Michael too hard and didn't prevent the man in the glittery general's outfit who lives in an amusement park from making bad decisions.
Let's ask the Jackson family to do something which is out of character and take responsibility too bad.
You know what?
This is a family that has named their offspring Prince and...
Blanket.
And Blanket.
And Jermaine's son is Jermajesty.
No, it is not.
Is that true?
Yes, it is true.
How could I make that up?
I'm a clever guy.
I can't make that up.
You are a brilliant individual.
Are you serious?
I swear to God.
You are a brilliant individual but you are not a Jackson.
I am not a Jackson.
So I don't have the balls to say I'm gonna name my first son Jermajesty.
That is fantastic.
Okay, so yeah.
So that's what the defense...
That's what AEG should say.
They should stroll in the family names and say, Your Honor, how can we believe this?
No one should be listening to these people.
No one should be listening.
They name their children crazy names.
Yeah, well, what about Prince 2, the sequel?
Exactly.
This is a guy that has held his kids over a balcony on a high rise.
So yes, he was crazy.
I believe they're gonna have Bubbles the Chimp called the Prince 2.
I believe they're gonna have as a witness.
Defense witness.
I don't...
Even though Klee told us he's dead but I'm not afraid to make a Bubbles reference continuously.
I don't...
I mean, I was a big Michael Jackson fan when I was younger.
I still don't understand how they could blame anybody other...
Michael Jackson specifically hired the doctor.
He didn't...
AIG didn't hire the doctor.
Michael hired the doctor and the reason he hired the doctor was because this guy needed money and Michael offered him $150,000 a month.
A month.
A month to just give me what I need.
He didn't hire him to vet him.
He didn't hire him to say no.
Right.
If he would've gone to AEG and said, all right, here's my doctor and they went, you know what?
I mean, this is literally what they're claiming.
The Jackson family is literally claiming AEG should've done research into the doctor's background, Conrad Murray's background and realized he was in such debt that he wouldn't have been trustworthy.
And the only reference that Dr. Conrad Murray had was Motley Crue.
So...
Exactly.
Exactly.
That would've been great.
That would've been absolutely great.
I want you to check my references.
I have here, my, you know, my last client was Motley Crue.
You're hired.
And they're doing well.
I mean, how in the world do you sue saying, well, yeah, Michael hired the guy and we already knew because they already claimed they tried to have an intervention at one point in time and Michael was having none of it.
So, how in the world do you go, well, he was already on drugs and he could afford to pay somebody for drugs and he hired this doctor himself.
I blame the promoter.
I blame the promoter and the company for making him not make better decisions.
All AEG wanted to, they invested in Michael Jackson.
They just wanted him to perform and recoup some of their money.
It's not their fault.
I am sure that they were, you know, just like on a film or anything else, you've got people that were pushing.
I'm not saying they were in the right.
You know what I mean?
It's like, look, we are booking stadiums around the world.
but that's part of the business.
We're putting a lot of money.
Right, but whether he had a drug problem.
We need you at rehearsal today at 9 o'clock.
9 o'clock.
No doubt.
And we are rehearsing until 11 o'clock tonight.
You know what I mean?
but whether he had a drug problem or not, that was still going to be the case.
That's what they do when they're doing, that's their job.
The family is just, and I'm not defending them.
I think the family's wrong, but I'm saying they're just saying, well, they were pushing a person who physically was not up to the task.
What are you talking about, man?
I don't know nothing about that.
I just want to sing my song.
That is unfortunately Michael's fault.
The thing I never understood about Michael was not all the plastic surgeries, by the way, that he had.
It was with all the people in this town, like I, cause I was looking, reading an article and I had pictures of him from when he looked like a cute little kid to all the way up to when he looked like a member of the Lion King.
And I don't understand with LA, with all the plastic surgeons in this town and this guy.
That's the best you could do?
That's what I'm saying.
You couldn't get a good plastic surgeon.
There are people in this town that can make me look like rerun from what's happening and his nose is an innie.
Because eventually if you have too much work, there's nothing there to graft off of or on.
The frame itself, like the universe keeps imploding on itself.
You know who he should have gotten?
He should have gotten Dr. Conrad Murray to work on that.
That would have been good.
All right, let's get the headlines.
You're listening to the weekly wrap-up with Ken August on Xtreme XM 243.

All right, let's go to headlines.
Extra, extra, read all about it.
Extra, extra, extra, extra, read all about it.
All right, the only reason ever to watch C-SPAN was the White House Correspondents Dinner which was on this week which basically has turned into a roast.
Let's listen to a brief clip of that.
I know Republicans are still sorting out what happened in 2012, but one thing they all agree on is they need to do a better job reaching out to minors.
And look, call me self-centered, but I can think of one minority they could start with.
Hello?
Think of me as a trial run, you know?
See how it goes.
Look, I get it.
These days I look in the mirror and I have to admit I'm not the strapping young Muslim socialist that I used to be.
Of course, even after I've done all this, some folks still don't think I spend enough time with Congress.
Why don't you get a drink with Mitch McConnell, they ask.
Really?
Why don't you get a drink with Mitch McConnell?
You know when you're the president, by the way, and he's good at that, but you know when you're the president, you're going to have a good audience.
He's got great writers.
I was going to say, and writers.
But look, delivery is not always easy.
I do give him credit for that.
That's kind of a ballsy statement, though, to say I'm not the young Muslim that I was.
That's great.
That was very funny.
All right, the 22-ton...
That and the pot one.
Oh, the pot one, yeah, the BuzzFeed.
He said, I remember when BuzzFeed was just something I did at 2 a.m.
in college.
Yeah.
That was nice.
The 22-ton Spire was lifted to the top of the 104-story One World Trade Center this week.
I don't know what is in that building.
I'm assuming there's going to be a target, because that's basically what they're building anyway.
Is that not accurate?
It is, but it's such a...
It's a beautiful building.
I think we're all New Yorkers or tri-state New Jersey and New York right here, and that building has to go up.
It's got to stay up.
I mean, it's beautiful, and I got nothing but love and respect for, you know, everything that has happened over there and the way they've dealt with it, but I just...
It just seems childlike to go, oh, you knocked down our big building?
We're going to make one bigger.
What are you, fucking stupid?
What are you...
I mean, every day we're scared somebody's going to come in.
You can still make an enormous...
What was the alternative?
You can still make an enormous, beautiful building.
It doesn't have to be 104 stories.
It doesn't have to be a, hey, look, asshole, look at us.
I got no problem sticking it to them, but I'm just saying, what do you think they're aiming for now?
All right, Danish scientists, which sounds delicious, say they are expecting new results that have left them months away from finding a mass-distributable and affordable cure to HIV.
So we may be months away from being able to take a day off of work for AIDS.
Hey, on Friday, I'm going to take an AIDS day so I get a three-day weekend.
We're close.
We're close to that.
Although other scientists have said, hey, the Danish are a little fucking crazy.
You take personal health days anyway, so why not?
Why not an AIDS day?
Yeah, that'd be great if the answer was like, oops, we were wrong.
You guys might want to stop having sex in the streets right there, you know?
Yeah, your AIDS day has turned into an AIDS rest of your life.
Are we going to send the AIDS cure to Africa?
No.
Or just to the rich countries?
We'll sell it to them.
They don't have any money.
They've got no pocketbooks.
I think you've answered your own question on whether we're sending it there.
There you go.
When I heard that someone was arrested for patient dumping, I thought maybe they were talking about my dad after his morning coffee.
Stop it.
Turns out two hospital employees have been fired and three others disciplined for putting mentally ill patients on a bus and sending them to other states.
Mostly downtown LA.
Oh, that patient dumping.
Oh, okay, that makes more sense.
Yeah, they bought the, Bee newspaper had reported that they, that hospital bought 1,500 one-way bus tickets.
From Nevada to LA.
To LA, to San Diego, 200 to LA, 70 to San Diego, 19 to Sacramento, and then to other states.
We're going to see a bunch of them when we leave the studio today.
You're sitting next to one of them right now.
That's how I got to the show.
I don't watch a lot of BBC programs, but from what I gather from the news recently, it seems that every male actor who's ever worked at the BBC was a child molester.
Have you guys seen the news?
No.
It's like, two, isn't it?
No.
How about Jimmy Savile, who did a whole bunch, and since he has died, they just arrested veteran BBC broadcaster Stuart Hall, who was doing it in the 80s, 70s, and 80s, including going after a girl who was nine years old.
William Roach, the world's longest-serving TV soap actor, also from the BBC, raped a 15-year-old girl.
But they're so charming when they do it.
Yeah, they do do it.
Yeah, it does.
It's less...
It's so regal.
When I rape you, I'm going to do it so wonderfully.
The celebrity publicist over there did it.
Rolf Harris, who's 83, who's a children's entertainer, just got around.
And there's four more names right here.
I mean, everybody, once they figure it out.
The United States, on Thursday, demanded the immediate release of a U.S.
citizen sentenced to 15 years in North Korean labor camp because the U.S.
believes holding someone captive for no good reason is best done in Cuba.
Is that not true?
Is that not accurate?
Just give him his food.
Nasally.
A man in India was charged with indignation for being a victim of a child when his wife posted a video that went viral of their nine-year-old son driving their Ferrari with his five-year-old brother in the car.
It's a Ferrari.
Please, let him go.
Really?
I don't know.
I'm fine with not giving five-year-olds guns, but if you're going to give him a Ferrari, that's just cool.
Let him run over people.
I don't know what they're freaking out about.
There's lots of people in India.
I don't know what they're freaking out about.
If this happened in Kentucky, the three-year-old would have had his rifle on him.
So I don't know what the problem is.
Chris Kelly, half of the 90s rap duo Chris Cross, died at the age of 34 on Wednesday of an apparent drug overdose.
No shit, Sherlock.
You didn't know that?
I do.
Oh, it was a drug overdose?
Yeah.
Chris Cross.
So he's no longer jumping around?
Not so much.
Now he's lump lump.
Chris Cross had the huge hit jump in 1992 and they wore their clothes backwards as a gimmick.
At least I thought it was a gimmick.
Now it turns out he might have just been high on crack.
Who knew?
Dave Gold, the founder of the 99 cents only store, died this week at the age of 80.
To honor him, the funeral home is offered to bury him in a plastic bag for an extra 10 cents.
There you go.
That is nice.
I'll take that deal.
And former Pope Benedict the Creepy returned to the Vatican this week and was greeted by Pope Francis.
I believe we have some tape of that.
Have you seen my Xbox controller?
Are you sure that was what happened?
This was my milk.
Don't touch my stuff.
I like the red slippers.
I look forward to the new cop show, Pope to Pope.
I'm pretty sure that's coming out sometime soon.
A buddy comedy.
A buddy comedy.
A buddy comedy.
Can you tell me if two popes live together without driving each other crazy?
Oh no, they're going into the good Pope molesty Pope routine.
This is tough.
This is not good.
All right, guys, we have a little less than a minute.
Drew, what do you got coming up?
Oh, you can still catch Bad Advice and reruns here at Skid Row.
And if you would like to see Bad Advice, you can go to the Ustream.
Just go to Ustream, look up Bad Advice and you can watch video of it.
