And also with us today, we're going to be talking about We got Frank here. He was going to tell us, how was your party? It was pretty kick-ass. It was crazy. It was good. Is it hot or is it just me? I think it's just you, man. You alright? I think it's the shirt on your shoulder. I think it's just music, man. The music is hot. What are you playing? The Waitress' Christmas rapping. What's up, man? Welcome. I want to welcome you. Thanks for coming down to the Pinhata Hour. I got Henry right here, too, in the house. What up? The man. Hey, grab a headset. You can grab a headset, man. And also, we got a big chain running the board tonight. What's up, man? How you doing? How's your traffic now coming this way? I'm sure it's pretty light. That's the nice thing about L.A. during the holidays, man. It's going to be a ghost town pretty soon. Yeah, the freeway is clear. Enjoy it. Yeah. Yeah. I think I'm going to run. I'm going to run naked through the freeway one of these days. Like Friday or Saturday. Just do it, man. Do it. Do it. That'd be so sick. Like, look at that guy. Do it. Take a picture and put it on Facebook. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do one of those, too. I think Facebook needs that. Just more naked pictures. More crazy shit. Tumblr's got it. Talking about nakedness. You guys heard about the XXX domain? No. Yeah. What is that? It's like, you know, there's .com, .org, .net. But now the porn industry. Or anything, you know, crazy. You can just get it. And it's XX. Do they really need that, though? It could be www.beingcrony.xxx. That does sound pretty hot, though. Right? Are you going to get a pinata hour .xxx? I'm looking, man. As soon as I get the money. Pictures of you and his chonies. Yeah. Just to get it, you know? Yeah, just to have it. You never know. Yeah. Crazy. We can change the format here. Right? We tried to do it before, right? With Big Chain. Ava Vincent. Yeah. This chick that came down. It was kind of weird. Who is she? That was kind of awkward. I just wanted a porn star. Oh. Were you here? Oh, no, no, no. No, I wasn't here, dude. No, no, no. A porn star. What? But you were here for that. You got a lap dance, though. Yeah, thank you. That was nice. What night was that? Huh? That was at the old spot. Yeah. Yeah. Good times, man. Yeah. I can say this year has been a lot of fun. Dope. 2011 has been... It's an unexpected year. Yeah, it's a crazy year. Nothing was planned for this year. Yeah. No, well, I had a plan, but, you know. It was a bad year for tyrants, you know, like Osama and all these fools just died off. Well, yeah. Well, those guys are asking. I don't know, you know. That's their business. And it's weird because... That kind of business you die. That business and being a rapper, maybe. Yeah. Fidel Castro is still around. Dang. Eyebrows went up. What's the name of that little Korean guy that just died and you see people crying? Kim. Have you seen him? Yeah. Lil' Kim. That's insane. People crying. It's like... Nah. Dude, they have a sign on Korean saying, cry or we shoot you. They're all just... That's what they have. They have a sign somewhere that says, cry or we're going to shoot you, you know. That's what it is. Come on. Really? Really. Yeah. Come on. Well, you never know. I mean... No. Nah. Nah. It looks too... Too like, you know, like... Not really. Half of North Korea is starving. That's what you just said. Staged. That's what it is. Was it... What are you guys talking about? It was staged or... It was fake? Yeah. I think it's a staged... Yeah. There's a video on YouTube where it's all these Koreans crying hysterically. Yeah. Just like this Occupy thing, you know? It's also staged, you know? This is crazy. Fuck. But that's everything. Everything's fucking fake. So, whatever. Yeah. You know? Yeah. So, what's up, man? What's on your... On this 2011, what have you done lately? I know you came out with some comic books. Yeah, man. I did some comic stuff. I came out with this like coloring comic book. Right. Because I'm like that simple of a guy who's like, ah, I just want to color some shit. Right. So, I made this thing. I want to do a lot of kids' children's books. So, that was kind of like my entry point. I saw some of the illustrations and I saw the response. How was the response for that? How was it? It was really good. Kids are amazing. It's amazing how they receive stuff. Like, we did a couple of book festivals and comic conventions and stuff to give my book to kids. Because it's all like superheroes of color. So, like brown superheroes, pretty amazing. Kids don't really see that stuff. So, to see it, it was either like, what? And just being totally amazed or like completely quiet. And just kind of like taking it in, you know, because you don't know what to think about something like that. Because you've never seen yourself as like a superhero before. So, yeah, I've been working on stuff like that. The comic. Lots of comics. Yeah. Where can they go and see that? They can hit me up on Facebook. I'm on Facebook. Vimcrony.com. Dot XXX. No. Don't do that. Next year. Next year. And Dwap Productions put it out, actually. So, you can go to like DwapProductions.com, I believe is the website. But yeah, shout out to them because they totally, they handled it. And how does that work? Like when they just come to you, like we want you to do it or you? Dwap is all. You present it to them like, oh, here's my some sketches. I presented them something and they were actually like just people I knew from like school and like an old instructor and her husband. And they're just kind of like big into industrial music and comic books. And that's how we kind of. Connected. Just being like super heavy and evil together. Also, Vimcrony brought us some, what do you got? Some punk rock, some stuff we're going to play later, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I got some punk. I've got some thrash. I've got some. What else do I have? Just, yeah, just all around. Just rock and roll. I hope you got some new bloods in there. Maybe I got some new bloods. For sure. Uh-oh. We're getting to. We got some breaking news here. What's going on? No, I'm just kidding. Yeah. That's right. What's going on? What's going on? What's going on? Quick question. Zombies attack. Quick question. If you were a superhero, what powers would you want to have? One superpower. That's such a good question. Okay. Man. I mean, I've always thought like flying is pretty amazing, but it might just be teleportation. And I say this because I've thought about this before. And, you know, there's like that jumper movie or whatever. Yeah. I like that movie. It's pretty cool. It was entertaining. It wasn't bad. I do the same thing. I do the same thing. I do the same thing. What he was doing. Just going to banks. And, you know. I know. He'd be loaded. Shit. But recently, like a few days ago, I did have a dream about like being able to teleport. Yeah. And it was pretty sick. So I think that's probably my calling is teleportation. Yeah. What about you guys? Yeah. Lee? I don't know. The power to. I would like to fly. But I'm already doing that already. What? What else? I don't know. What about you, Henry? What superpower would be? I've always liked flying. I would want to fly. Yeah. I want to fly. Fuck that. I'm afraid. What about you, Big Chin? You want to fly? Yeah. He wants to fly from Santa Monica to downtown for sure. Teleport. I fly every day, man. The thing is, if you could teleport, then you could just kind of like teleport into the sky. Yeah. Teleport is. And then just do kind of like free fall and then teleport before you hit the ground and be like, I was flying. Yes. No, don't do that. I want to have the power to be invisible. Like, you know. Invisibility. Yeah. Nice. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Super strength. No. Did you have these two? Did you get. Did you have those sketches before or something you just worked out of? Yeah, man. Dude, I've got like ideas for days. So that was kind of like I was doing a lot of projects and nothing was really seeing its way to completion. I feel like. So in that within that month, I was like, fuck it. I'm just going to do my own comic and just write down a bunch of characters. And I just drew like 30 characters with like their backgrounds and origin stories. And. And I just kind of made it happen. So they were already in my head and I've got like thousands more superheroes kind of waiting to be set free. So, yeah. All right. Doing that. And I'm doing like another comic next year. It's more of an actual comic. It's very like, I don't know, Buffy meets some kind of galactic space. I guess I guess I keep saying Blade Runner, even though I say Blade Runner, but I do not like Blade Runner. What? It's. And I'm. I'm a cyberpunk fan. I'm a cyberpunk fan. It's so boring to me. Cyberpunk. I like that. Yes. What was a cyberpunk band? I mean, what is a cyberpunk movie? What's a cyber? Yeah. A movie. What would it be? Tetsuyo. That's cool. Yeah. Tetsuyo is amazing. You mean with Jackie Chan? No. No. No. No. Jackie Chan. I can't. The director's name. He's done really, really amazing stuff. But he's also did something called Burst City, which is really amazing. A lot of the Japanese cyberpunk is just. It's just fucking rad. You know, Hackers is like the standard American. That was popular. That was with. Angelina Jolie. Yeah. And. And her. Which she was actually kind of good looking, but you know. What about Johnny Mnemonic? Johnny Mnemonic is really sick. It's like the first Neo like ish. Yeah. I really, really like Johnny Mnemonic because it's one of those. It's so bad that it's good. Isn't Henry Rollins in that movie? Yes. Yeah, he's in it. That's sick. Immediately cyberpunk right there. Henry Rollins. Yeah. He's been a lot of stuff. But we're just talking about that, right? No way here. Rollins, the actor. Yeah. He's been in a lot of stuff, man. Crazy shit. But yeah. So working on that, working on another comic that's going to actually be promoted with a short film. So I'm doing like this short live action. Have you seen the cartoons lately on TV? I mean, do you watch TV? But I don't watch TV. But have you seen the new cartoons out there? Yeah. Yeah. There there's some really bad shit. But. I mean, I'm not going to say that. I'm not going to say that. Because I mean, it's been like years. I wish I can go to Comic-Con or one of those things. I think I'm going to do that next year. Nah, you don't want to do that shit. Yeah. Just see what's out there. Like, you know. I'm too punk, I guess. Because I'm just like, look at all these posers here. Yeah. That was a good one. Oh, man. Yeah. Cartoon set were pretty bad. That was a break. That was a break? Yeah. Fuck, dude. My body needed a break. Have you guys seen? Okay. If you're going to see a recent cartoon, Avatar, The Last Airbender. Watch the film. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I saw it. What do you mean? That's a cartoon? Yeah. That's where, yeah. That's where they cut that. Don't watch the live action movie. The most awful movie I've ever seen. Avatar. I hated the way that thing ended, man. It was just like, what? The Last Airbender? Yeah, man. I mean, it looks cool. I've never seen it. The cartoon or the movie? I've seen the movie. Oh, yeah. Don't watch the film. No, the movie is, it was like, they could have done more on the movie, but they didn't. They went cheap. I tried. But the cartoon, I just saw it on Netflix. When you see all the good stuff in the commercials, that means it's not going to be a good movie. You know? What? Oh, yeah. You saw it on Netflix, though? You saw the cartoon? Yeah. It's on, yeah. That cartoon's amazing. Afro. I just watched the, we're talking about this Japanese guy that brought the, what's it called? The anime. The anime. I don't know. How he influenced the American drawing to, I forget his name. Makanda? Takanda? I don't know. Copacabana? I don't know. I don't know. I don't like him. Anyway. Akira Toriyama influenced my style. He's the guy that did Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball, yeah. That's how much of a nerd I am. Yeah, that was a Dragon Ball. Yeah, I like that. I like Dragon Balls. Yeah. You like Dragon Balls? Yeah, I like Dragon Balls. Where's like the drum roll thing? That was good. Come on, man. Cheap, but good. Yeah. So, yeah, what else were we talking about? This is so random. Yeah, I know. I know. I know. I know. It's so random. Yeah, this is cool. But anyway, listen, we're going to come back. We're going to come back, talk more about you. I want to talk about film and the bands. I want to talk about the bands that you film and also how far you went with your film that you're in. Yo, what's up? Who's this? Yo. Yeah, this is Fernando. Oh, he's- Oh, what up, Fernando? All right, all right. We're going to come down right now. We're going to- I'm outside in the hallway. All right, all right. I'm coming down. We're going to go up in the dark right now. He's my dog dealer. You're on live. Send me in. Yeah, he's my dog dealer. Let him in. Let him in. Does he have any cheesecake? Yeah, he's my dog dealer. They deliver now, huh? Yeah. So, yeah, so we're going to play some music right now and then we're going to come back. We're going to come back and talk about the films and the- I'm going to hang up now. And all that. All right, good night. And the Kill Rockstar thing and MTV and all that cool stuff. So, go ahead, Frank. You ready? MTV. Listo. We're going to play some Norteños and shit? Some punk Norteños? Here we go. All right. Go. What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? It was December 24th when Hollis happened to dock. When I see the man chilling with his dog at the park. I approached him very slowly with my heart full of fear. Looked at his dog, oh my God, a ill reindeer. But then I was ill and called the man at a bin. Had a bag full of pudding, 12 o'clock at night. So I turned my head a second and the man was gone. But he left his droppings while he smacked dead on the lawns. I picked the wallet up and then I took a pause. Took out the license and it called, said Santa Claus. A million dollars in it called hundreds of G's. Enough to buy a boat, magic call was E. But I'd never steal for Santa, cause that ain't right. So I was going home to man up back to him that night. But when I got home I bumped, cause under the tree. Was a letter from Santa and the door was for me. It's Christmas time in Hollis, Queens. Moms cooking chicken in collard greens. Rice and stuffing, macaroni and cheese. And Santa put gifts under Christmas trees. Decorate the house with lights at night. Snow's on the ground, snow white so bright. In the fireplace is the Yule log. Beneath the mistletoe as we drink eggnog. The rhymes that you hear are the rhymes of carols. Like each and every year we bust Christmas carols. Ooh So why Can I touch it? Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're back. That was a nice set, Frank LePaul. Gracias. I like your stuff, man. This guy, you know, makes it right. Those are some jams right there. Oh, dude, that's sexy. Is this me or? Let me see that. Look at my hair. All day. When I wake up in the morning, this is how I look. The hair. When I wake up in the morning. For the audience, I just drew a picture of Trump. So here at Piñata, we have, I got Vin Corona in the house, you know, so I got Henry and Fernando dropping by and Frank LePaul doing the mix. It's a party. So, okay, so you, what was your most interesting video you've done? I know you've done a lot of videos. That was a nervous laughter right there. I know, you know, you, you, I saw all your videos and I saw, you know, like your work, they're all different. All your videos are different. Cause I know a lot of people that do videos out there. They're like, oh, I'm a videographer. Oh, I can do a video. Look. And yeah, it's done. But there's, there's, you know, people like you, when you do your videos, it's like, I can see the artwork and I can see the. You're going to make me cry, dude. That's all right. Can you, here. Here. Here. No, I can do it on the art. Yeah, man. I think I just, it comes down to me just being really, getting really bored. And it's like, I have to do something different like each time. Even if it's, you know, like we were talking, I'm working off of other influences and I'm being influenced by things. So I'm recreating stuff also, but I'm still just like every time I want to do something different. And yeah. Yeah. So my most interesting, was that the question? The most interesting? Yeah. You know, I'm, I'm sure there's like all different bands, different sounds, but out of all your projects, you know, like. Man. What's your favorite? I guess. You hit me with a good question. Let's say, let's, let's say like you, you were doing an interview show too, right? Yeah. It was called, what was it called? Oh, there was two. There was The Gaze and then there was Debunk Punk. Debunk Punk. That's something that I used to watch. Like I saw it here and there. Yeah, Debunk Punk was cool. Yeah. Yeah. That was a good thing. I'm going to skip over the question. I want to answer that fucking question. You know what? I like that video, that one where like the boy doesn't have his dad. Yes. That one was cool. Okay. So yeah, to go off of that. And the recent one that you made with. It's a loss for words. Yeah. So that's why. What's in the video? What's in the video? That. That. Talk to the microphone. I forgot her name. I forgot her name. Oh, I mean. Yeah. I mean, there you go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was sick. Yeah. So I mean. Dude. Okay. So both of those. So the one with the boy. Shit. I can't remember the title, but that's reaching away. That's working with like a really old friend that I've known since I was 18 and doing. I've done like three videos for them. And that was really cool. Interesting, because that was a really fleshed out idea, you know, and we talked about it and we had stories. We had storyboards and drawings. He had drawings. I had drawings. And it was just a fun experience like in Bakersfield. So automatically it's interesting, you know. And with Hanin, that was just just a crazy interesting because I've been an Atari Teenage Riot fan since I was like a teenager. Atari Teenager? Oh, yeah. Atari Teenage Riot. Yeah. Yeah. So to connect with her and to have her come to like L.A. and for us to. Yeah. To shoot the video. It's your thing about the do you know video, the one with the crazy stuff? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So. Yeah. And that's all just like, wow. Yeah. Thanks. Yeah. That's a good. That's pretty much all like in a hallway with like her and a TV and, you know, some lights. But that's. Yes, that was really interesting. Yeah. Old school. I really and, you know, it's kind of a shout out to them, too. But the tremolo video I really, really like doing just because that that had a lot of elements to it. Mm hmm. And I really like the whole idea of like, oh, I can shoot that whole video over again. And like with all the knowledge that I have now, because I really just like the concept with like the skateboarders and like the coolness. But then there's like the girl with the wings and just and those guys are really awesome. I really like that song. So that was an interesting video, too. But oh, yeah. Yeah. I think when you when you do a it's like doing like a movie score. Yeah. Like you want to put a like this music, the sound out there that. Yes. You can see you can picture you can see visions about it. You like, oh, I can put this on the film. Yeah. Within three minutes or four minutes. Like I can just deploy like a story right away. Yeah. Yeah. Something. Yeah. There has to be that. And I mean, recently, I guess I've gotten more offers to do videos and that's not always there. Like, I'll get a song and I'm just like, oh, man, this. Hey, tell me. You just did. You just did. You just did. A heavy metal video. How was that? And then I saw it and then I saw it later because I saw like you were posting pictures like, oh, is this how it is? And I can see, you know, you know, like, OK, the behind the scenes. But then I saw the video later and I was like, hey, it's like the whole like you had you had some magic to it. Cool. Yeah. Yeah. It looks like it was done in Berlin. Oh, like medieval times. Cool. So, yeah, that's that's Hyrax. Yeah. Cool. And hopefully we get around to playing. I have a song from that from a band that Caden used to be in. But yeah, Hyrax has been around since the 80s. They're like legendary thrash metal band. Yeah. So that was where and he lives like I don't know if I should say this, but he was like right up down the street from me. So, you know, they're from SoCal. We probably got one listener right now. And one guy was like Caden's in SoCal. So, yeah, that's that. That's that. That's that. That's that. That's that. That's that. That's that. That's that. That's that. That's that. That's that. That's that. That's that. That's that. So, yeah, that was an amazing experience because one, I'm a huge fan of Hyrax. Two, well, shooting it was so awesome and fun and hilarious because they're totally the typical like heavy metal band. Yeah. I can tell from all the pictures. They're really intense and like but they're really goofy at the same time because, you know, they're just like, we're drinking beers. and we're just going to get wasted and we're shooting a video, heavy metal. And it's just like, it's like that for like eight hours, you know, it's like, I got to go home. But yeah, I love that band. I love that video. Broken Neck is the name of that song. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I saw it. Yeah, two minutes of just explosions and heavy metal. So I did it early. Yeah, man. And how was your experience with doing that little videos for MTV and Kill Rockstar? I don't know if that label is still around. I know. Is it Kill Rockstar? That's so sad to say. Yeah, well, with that, it felt like that. Yeah, I'm trying to like choose my words carefully with that because I love the New Bloods and I love Kill Rockstars. I love like the... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.! Yeah, just that whole experience was great because that album and even like before, because even I knew about them and I knew them before they had, they got on that label and they just had the seven inch and I had them come down to the gays and had them play a couple of songs live and they were just really amazing just to see, you know, black punks just touring and playing music and actually putting out music. That's amazing. And women also. So I don't know if I think Osa, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know if I asked her. I have, I can ask bands too. If like, yeah, you want to shoot a video? But that was like a dream come true because they had, they flew me out to Portland and we shot the video and stayed there for like a few days. That's cool. And yeah, it was just a really amazing experience. And I saw that band, he and you, Desmond and like, oh yeah, you were there too, right? Yeah. Henry. That was amazing. Yeah. I think you got a tape out of them, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And you still have it. I never got it back. Well, you lived there. You lived there. You left it behind. Yeah. It worked both ways. That's funny. But yeah. I got some stuff of these. Yeah. Oh shit. The little stuff you leave behind. But yeah, that was great. Going up to Portland, shooting that thing, shooting the video for them, going to see the actual Kill Rockstars like office and seeing the people behind that. And. They released some good shit. Good band. Kill Rockstars. Yeah. I'm saying if they're still, because I haven't seen anything or, you know, I saw other labels, but Kill Rockstar, I like how they put out their shit. They're strictly Seattle based, you know? No, no, no, no. I know. But like. Or I mean, Portland. Yeah, Portland. Yeah. Like, but like, like I haven't seen, you know, like something put out by them. So I was wondering. Yeah, they were doing it. I think recently they were doing a lot of singer songwriter stuff. And I love there's some singer songwriter stuff that I love. Anus Kings for one. Oh, yeah. Oh, rest in peace. Don't say that. No, they're still playing shows. They're still playing shows. Yeah. But yeah, the Kill Rockstar started putting out some kind of weaker. You know what? We're talking about the new bloods. Why don't we why don't we play your your your favorite pick right now? So we have. Do we have those ready? Yeah, I think we do. Can we can we go with whatever is that? Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. It's Sally from the Valley. Oh, my God. What's up? How's everyone tonight? Pretty good. We're doing just fine. We're we're about to play some some new bloods. Hey, Jerry, you think we can get to that song? Well, that new bloods track is I mean, it's from the their last album, but it's more like an acapella. It's more like a transitional thing. So what do you want to do? You want to play that and then go into, you know, fuck it. Why don't we just go with? Are you taking requests right now? Yeah. Do you have a request? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? I think you lost her with that. You know what digital underground is? That's where Tupac come from. Yeah. You just made her cry, man. She just found out. She's probably Googling right now. Wikipedia. Where you calling from? What part of the valley? What the fuck? I'm only 16 years old. There you go, baby. Holla. Tupac wasn't always gangsta. She's still alive, right? He's in Cuba. He's in Cuba. He's kicking it, dude. Notorious B.I.G. With Aaliyah. He's like, hey, yo, nigga. He's over there with Heavy D also. So sad. Heavy D. I love Heavy D, man. He's badass. He could dance, too. So sad. Yeah, so let's play this track. Okay. Can I talk? Can I talk about it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So let's talk about the... Phantasm, man. Yeah, Phantasm. And that's Pray For Power. Pray For Power. So this is Phantasm. Where is it from? This is California. This is L.A., I guess. Because this is Caden from Hyrax in an old band when he wasn't in Hyrax called Phantasm. Pray For Power. It's fucking... If you don't like metal, this song should get you to like metal. All right, man. Let's do this. It's intense. It's intense. Let's do this. Let's do this. Let's do this. That was fast. Yeah. Pray For Power. Two minutes. Two minutes and one second. What's the name of the song? Pray For Power. Pray For Power. Yeah. Don't pray for me. Pray For Power. All right, so the next band, I was trying to get this band to play, but they said they were busy in January. Clorox Girls. Oh, Clorox Girls. They're like, why are we busy, man? I think they're recording or doing something. I think this guy is in another band too. Yeah, they're a busy band. They're a really busy band. Yeah, Justin's in L.A. Drugs now, so they're playing shows. But that's the dude we met at your apartment once, right? That's right. Yeah. Yeah. For the video. Wow. Yeah. So, yeah. So this is Clorox Girls, Bad Girls. Oh, by the way, we were at his apartment. We were just making cookies. Yeah. We were baking cookies. Peanut butter cookies. So, yeah, this song's awesome. Justin's really amazing. He's totally punk, really weird. And he helped produce a couple of videos. So, like, shout out to him for that. I mean, he's pretty awesome. So, yeah, I don't know if we want to go right into that or... Yeah, yeah. Let's play. This is Clorox Girls, Bad Girls. Bad Girls. Yeah, Pinhata. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. guitar solo solo solo solo solo solo solo Bad girls, bad girls, bad things Bad girls, bad girls, bad things Bad girls, bad girls, bad things Bad girls, bad girls, bad things Bad girls, bad girls, bad things Bad girls, bad girls, bad things Bad girls, bad girls, bad things Spent twenty years on the run Each and every time Each and every time I'm drifting further away I'm drifting further away I'm drifting I'm drifting I'm drifting I'm drifting further away You just gotta get the right, I guess, market or... I guess we're back, huh? Yeah, I guess we are. Alright, so this is Piñata Hour. If you guys are listening to this show, it's every Wednesday here at SkidRoadStudios.com. Every Wednesday from 7 to 9. This is gonna be our last podcast here at the studios. For this year. Yeah, for this year, yeah, 2011. And then we're gonna come back in January, right? Are we coming back? Sure. Sure. Yeah, we're coming back. Just checking. Just checking, man. Sure is a good answer. Sure. That's awesome. It looks at me like... As long as it wasn't hell no. Right. But like, can I talk to you after the show? But anyway, so yeah, so this is gonna be a love show. And I got a Vin Crony here. Vin Crony in the house. Okay, so we were talking about your films and, you know, with the bands and stuff. And talked about a little bit about your photography too. You need some photography or... Well, yeah, I mean, I guess, you know, the new era of filmmaking. Oh. Well, did we get a call? We just got a call. Are the calls random like this? This is awesome. Yeah. Hey. Yo. Who's this? He's out there. Oh, it's a child. Oh, yeah. We got a crazy caller. People have called to get in. So now there's a dealer coming in and dropping some stuff. Yeah. That's how it's cool. Yeah, yeah. What up, y'all? What up? There's a lot of drugs here. I need a pizza guy. Hey, didn't he ask me on the way out about the key? Oh, was it you? That was me. It was you, right? We had to leave the door open. Yeah. I straight up slammed it like, pass. And then I'm outside. I'm like, ah, shit. I'm gonna have to call. I have to call the show. I'm like, hello. That's funny. Yeah. So films. Yeah. Yeah. Photography. Are you planning to do like a documentary or a little movie in the future? Man, it's all documentary. That's the conclusion I've come to. No matter if you've got actors or whatever, it's all you're documenting the moment. So not to be all fucking heady and shit, but it's true. It's all documentary. It's all right. I like your jacket. Thank you. I like your face. You like my face? I know. I love the flyer. The pinata hour flyer. It's so good. But yeah, so photography. It was kind of like a transitional thing because all the most recent film equipment with the DSLRs and shooting basically with a still photograph camera. Man, I saw a really good. Lee's got the bad dude shirt on. I saw a really good bad dude show. I could smell a long, long time ago. But yeah, so it's kind of like one of those natural things because I've been shooting, I guess, a lot of fashion too. And I think it's just kind of my way just to hang out with really hot women and it's working. So yeah, I'm going to stick with photography. You remember the guy. What's his name? Say cheese and die. Preston. Yeah. Preston. Preston. Palindrome. Yeah. Palindrome. That dude, man. He's always taking pictures and hot chicks all the time. Yeah. Shout out. You know, it's not a bad thing. So, but no, it's just, yeah, just working with like just beautiful people in general. You guys are beautiful. I was like, Bastida's music video. Yeah. I'm fucking cute. I look good in camera. Cute as a button. I look good on HD. There were a lot of shots of me. Yeah. Henry looks good. Look at him. Good profile. Yeah. Good profile. Yeah. That's why I hang out with him. Cause he's a look. That's all it is. That's it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You too, Fernando. All right. Thank you. Just give me the look. Just give me the look. Don't leave me hanging. Yeah. You too, Frank. Frank. Oh, Jeremy. Yeah. What would we like to see like trying to like travel like trying to travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel like travel be listening right now and they'd be like oh you know check the videos and then they're like yeah these guys this is what he's doing right now yeah yeah if you're an artist whatever you're doing you just have to like super hustle it yeah you know and um i don't have like a manager or anybody representing me or anything so it's kind of like i have to be very grown up yeah too in a way which is really weird because i just want to be just like oh it's cool you know whatever but then i have to be like where's my money you know that's when it gets intense but you have to be you know your heart and uh when you do something good you don't do it for free you know yeah exactly and i mean there's there i learned that because i was watching batman and that's what the joker said sitting on the table with all those bad guys you know they're like how much do you want it's like one half right yeah half of our money yeah what did you think about i mean i really like that movie that was a can't wait for the new one yeah that was like the best three studios are coming out oh that looks awful man did you see the trailer yeah i thought it was like are you serious i thought it was like a serious movie about their life and everything oh man no but it's nice man i love it man i don't like it frank doesn't like it i was like i was intrigued by the idea and i was watching it kind of like smiling it looks too high definition for me like i feel like i want to see well you know what i noticed i noticed that it looks like they brought the high definition but on on i think around the different time like a different era i mean they still wear the same clothes right right in the haircut yeah they still got the haircut hey you know that it looks like they brought the hd to what what what what what era they filmed this 19 it's no it's the present time yeah it's got what what's the thing oh it's supposed to be like a present yeah it's just three days yeah it's like with everything like with smurfs they're just no they're just taking everything oh yeah hollywood's running out they got snooki in it yeah a lot of people dress old-timey nowadays so yeah man i guess it could be too are you justifying i see some people dressed like i'm not saying if you see the trailer look it up on youtube it just looks awful yeah yeah they're gonna do whatever they want to because they have millions of dollars so it's like there's a lot of garbage i've seen that hobbit trailer that looks pretty sick i haven't seen it i hear i hear you can't smoke in here right no no no it's shaking shaking you never know so you can watch the trailer okay so we're gonna go ahead and play another song it's called uh uh so this next one is a volcanic and they're all right let's hear it here so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so Thank you. The name of the song is I Just Might I Just Might I Just Might I Just Might Go to the Double Double Kickstarter and donate to Backseat Bingo's cause Yeah, so these guys are trying to raise some money for it. They're almost there and So they came down to Pinata Hour to see if you guys are listening and you can go ahead and help out with this. They're only, I think, 200 bucks away. So if you guys can go to their website at Backseat Bingo, you can see on Facebook. And they have a website there. www.kickstarter.com slash projects 1727, I think. But you go there and you're gonna see, basically you go into this website and I guess you PayPal, you know, give them some money and whatever you can donate, I guess, helps with the cost. These guys are trying to release a 7-inch on vinyl, so that's pretty cool. Wish you could donate hugs. But this song... Well, it's like pre-buying the record. But this song is pretty much... I Just Might, you can download it for free too right now. It's a good song. Yeah. Really powerful. Apparently it's unmixed too. Yeah, they're a local band. Anyways, so we have one more song of them. It's track number three. This song is called Yes Yes Here, Pinata Hour. Pinata Hour Pinata Hour Pinata Hour Pinata Hour Pista You know I'm a bad boy You must understand I'm going to have you This isn't the right moment But I lust for love, so You know I'm a bad boy You know I'm a bad boy You're not my type You're not my type You're not my type You're not my type Fall into my stare Am I satisfied? He's living in Koreatown. Yeah, I know. He's in Koreatown. So that was backseat bingo. So yeah, go to the website. Okay. Backseat bingo. They're on Facebook. Or I guess you can go to kickstarter.com. And I guess search project. And then you're going to see the project, backseat bingo. Sick. I like the theatrical vocals. Really good. Yeah. What do you think about it, man? Kind of like Talking Heads meets... I was thinking that. Rocky Horror Story show or something like that. I've seen this dude's life. I'm obviously a Cars fan. Really? Yeah. Huh. Cars, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. For sure. I'm into it. I hear a caller. Hell yeah. Oh, we have a caller here in Piñata. Who's this? It's Bob. Oh, it's you. What up, dude? We just play your stuff right now. Yes. Thank you. Thank you. Oh, no problem, dude. Thank you for playing our stuff. Hey, you might want to explain to our listeners right now what's up with this Kickstarter. Okay. So the Kickstarter, basically, we have a deadline. Our deadline is... It's a stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. And we have to meet our goal, which is $1,500. And we're only like $200-something shy of our goal. And we meet the goal. And if we either meet the goal or surpass the goal, either or, we get the record comes out and all the money comes in. If we don't meet our goal by the deadline, then everybody just gets their money back. Cool. And that's pretty much how it works. And then the 7-inch will come. It'll come out. And you'll get a 7-inch vinyl with two of the songs on it, both sides. And then you get all four songs as MP3. Nice. Nice. Yeah. Well, congrats. And we recorded all analog live in the studio to 2-inch tape. Then we mixed it down into another studio to quarter-inch tape. And we just have to master. Just have to master that shit. Sounds good, man. Yeah, man. We'll just mix it and deliver it to the people. The people want to speak now. Go ahead, people. Anybody want to say anything now? Sounds good. I'm sorry. The people agree. The people agree. Yeah. The people agree? Yeah. Yes. Re-order all records. Good idea. So the songs that we just played are going to be on this release, right? Yeah. What about the song? Yeah, the song we play, are they going to be on the release, right? Sorry about that. That one's going to be on the... Yeah, the songs that I just played. Yeah, are these songs that we just played going to be on the... Oh, yeah. Those two songs are going to be on the... Those are just mixed. Those haven't been mastered yet. Okay. And those two songs are going to be on... Well, we haven't decided yet. Because we know that the first one, I just might. Is... It's definitely going to be on the vinyl. But the other one you just played, which is called Party Favor, that one, we haven't decided if that one is going to be on the vinyl, the seven inch, or just the EP. But we have... The other one that I sent you called Yes Yes My Favorite, that one's the other one we're kind of deciding whether we want to put that one on the record as well, the vinyl as well. Yeah, we just ended up playing Yes Yes. Cool. Nice. You're going to play Yes Yes My Favorite right now? Oh, we already did. No, we didn't. It was in... Oh, no, that was Party Favor. Oh, that was Party Favor? Okay, so we're going to have to play Yes Yes. Yes Yes My Favorite is actually the... It should be the fourth track on there. Hey, V-Chain, you got that song right there? Which track? It's... Yes Yes, the fourth one. The fourth one. Yeah. If we play that. You want to play that right now? Yeah, let's play it right now. So this is Backseat Bingo. Hey, thanks for calling, Bob. Yeah, no problem. Thank you. All right, man. Peace. All right. Thank you. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Peace. All right. Thank you, guys. All right. That was Bob from Backseat Bingo. All right, so we're going to play this track now. This is called Yes Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. See?! What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? What would we like to see? Yes, yes, my favorite I can't get this play off of the ground I'm going insane without making a sound Yes, my favorite Yes, yes, my favorite Now that you've cracked the code I'm in the right mode Let's get this played off Some cheers with our clubs Yes, my favorite Yes, yes, my favorite Yes, my favorite Yes, my favorite Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, Evil Dead. Bruce Campbell. Bruce Campbell, yeah, man. The chin. The chin. The chin. The chin. So yeah, like seeing that, seeing like Evil Dead 2 especially really influenced me. But seeing like just growing up watching a lot of like 80s, early 90s horror, science fiction, Critters. That was a good one. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Just all this stuff that was just kind of like weird and like just fresh, I guess, when Hollywood, I guess, was making fresh stuff. You could say that now. But yeah, so watching that stuff and just wanting to make films and comic books too. I grew up, you know, reading comic books ever since I was really little. So the combination of that with punk rock and going to punk shows and documenting just kind of like has made whatever style I have right now. But yeah, yeah. So what was the initial question? I fucking forgot it. No, that was like what was your main, like your influence? What did make you say like, oh, I'm going to do it. So you saw those as your influence. But like what do you think of today? Like videos, videos like I noticed everybody can do get a camera. And it's so accessible now, like cameras and stuff are so cheap. I mean, your cameras in your phone. So HD cameras in your phone. So videos today. I don't know, man. I kind of I kind of hate them. You know, they're I mean, because there's there's a point to where I just don't like doing music videos at all. But that's when I kind of I have to flip it. I have to flip it for myself and make it fun and interesting. Yeah. Because, yeah, it's like it's that weird balance of like, hey, I'm an artist, I guess. Yeah, I am an artist and I'm making something. But I also have to make these people look really cool, too, at the same time or help them, you know, progress in their art making also with music videos. So it's this weird balance that I actually really like because it's a challenge. It can it can be a real challenge. But, yeah. As far as like influence. Yeah. Influencing, especially influence me, I guess, to be professional with it is I which weird, I guess, is writers. There's a comic book writer. His name's Dwayne McDuffie. He passed away recently, probably like in February. But he's been writing comics since the 80s, early 90s. Definitely. He's really inspired me to do really professional stuff just to kind of make it happen. My friends, you guys inspire me all the time to do work, whether it's film or. Music or drawing or, you know, I like I draw you guys because I'm inspired by you guys. So. Yeah. Yeah. What else? What else you got for me? Quick question. What do you think? This is what he draw. And this is what I inspire him. Yeah. He saw me. He draw this. I love it. Yeah. It's my little dog. Rock. That's a million dollar idea right there. Yeah. That's a cartoon. Yeah. It's got to be a cartoon, right? Yeah. Yeah. Dog. Rocky. Little Stoney. Little Stoney. Little Stoney. Little Stoney. That's what that reminds me of. He was the punk rock Garfield. Were you going to say that? Yeah, he was. I was going to ask you really quick about Trent Reznor and this, you know, the soundtracks, you know, that he's doing for the movie Girl with a Dragon Tattoo. I don't know. Like, what do you think? Have you heard any of the music? I haven't heard any. I've been hearing about him collaborating. He's a collaborating with like the Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Karen O. Karen O. Yeah. Did the Zeppelin song. I mean, Trent's amazing. He's a definite, I mean, I, you know, listen to him as a kid growing up and visually the music videos. Yeah. Amazing. Amazing. Yeah. So yeah, it's kind of getting to that. It's getting to that level, I guess, but not even, it's kind of just going my own path and just doing my own thing. And it just kind of ends up looking something like that. Where is he from? Are you from Atlanta? Where is Trent Reznor from? Who? I think he's from Arizona. Reznor, I think he's from the East Coast. The East Coast, right? Yeah. Yeah. Look on the internet real quick. Google, Google it. Yeah. Google it. Google it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Man, fuck, dude. I can't stand it. I can't stand it. Especially when he was even first starting out. It was like, man, Lil Wayne. I was like, fuck that shit. I mean, I get it. I totally get it. I don't get it. I love hip. No, I get it. I love hip hop. I just don't get that. I get their mission. Like, I know what they're. To make money. It's to stay on top. Because these dudes, they always release. They're not like a band, like a punk rock band. These dudes are always constantly releasing music. And when they release it, they release it like. But what happens to them. They just release it. And when they release it in the masses. I like bands. But I heard that a lot of bands right now, they're trying to take that kind of way of doing things. Like how hip hop does it. Like releasing the music, you know. Like rappers release music like every day, every week, constantly. It's interesting with rappers, though, because they don't perform as often. As. Rock rock or rock bands do. You know, it's very like they'll do a showcase and play two songs and then be done, you know, it'll be like a show every three months or something like that. So, yeah, there's just like different approaches, which is really interesting. I think probably hip hop is more like more of a merchandise thing. Like you have to like, oh, I'm connected with this brand of clothes and I've got. Yeah, it became like a culture, you know, it's everywhere. Right. All over the world. It starts raising like. Dr. Dre. Dre beats. That's why they were making their money, too, because they saw that people were like attracted to anything that they do from shoes to clothes to sweaters. But if you look, there's a lot of. Now they're selling drinks, you know, energy drinks and shit. Exactly. Exactly. But if you look, there's a lot of like band, rock bands, punk bands that do are doing that and getting big, too, you know, like associating themselves with clothes and sunglasses and whatever. Yeah. Like the logo. Like the Misfits goals everywhere. Exactly. Exactly. It's all about that dollar, you know, it's all about the dollar dollar dollar dollar dollar dollar billion. But it's cool because I'm glad and I've been talking. I've been saying this for a while, too, but or recently that I'm so glad I'm I'm kind of not in that that in that mindset, I guess, because I'm so happy doing what I'm doing now. Like, I don't I don't care if I ever become super famous and make a ton of money because I'm pretty I'm pretty good. Like, I can eat. I have a roof over my head. I can make whatever I want to make and just be totally chill about it. So be the last thing. Be the last thing. Be the last thing. Be the last thing. Where the neon signs flashin' in the winter man's fashion. All those homes down the drain. Be the last thing. It's turnin' day and night. I'm turnin' night into day time. If you see it once, you'll never be the same again. Gotta keep on runnin'. Gonna have to meet somebody. It cost me my very last dime. If I wind up the roadside. No, no. Please remember that I had a swingin' time. Oh, I'm gonna give it everything I've got. Lady luck's with me. I stay hot. Gotta cook up my nose to dry away the snot.
