📄 Transcript [show]

Man lives in the sunlit world of what he believes to be reality. But there is unseen by most an underworld, a place that is just as real but not as brightly lit, a dark side. The following content is based on a true story. It contains images of graphic violence. Viewer discretion is advised. Beyond the grave, beyond all sound. Beneath the world in flames. We found a menace spawned from time so deep. And from that abyss, death did creep. To take from us what we could not give. And steal the life of those who would live. He comes through time to finish his task. Steal our might. Tear off. The weight of our mess. With the snuff of life. Cheers no gloppin. He comes through time. To slurp on mennonbin. Against his foe. This matchless strength. His fiendish servants. His probing links. He comes to devour. All that we are. And if he succeeds. The death. The sloth. The sloth. The sloth. Of You Will there be a new master the children will cry For in this new world even death Can Die Die I desire the war of night Against ships on fire Blast more people trees cross the sky Blashing carnage everywhere Stands of dead and burning hand My name may not be for this Masons have a hide Down my head they take you deep The fox heart don't reach a human mind We saw the last slay We saw the last slay We saw the last slay We saw the last slay We saw the weapon We saw the weapon We saw the weapon We saw the weapon The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth The sloth Fire! Attack systems on fire! Attack systems on fire! Attack systems on fire! Attack systems on fire! No, there's a drop in the bucket. You know, I've been around for 46 billion years, and I spent 40 of those asleep. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I want to move on to planetary issues. It looks like a lake has been discovered on Mars. Apparently it's a long, deep canyon with actually having the remains of beaches. What do you make of this? Oh, yeah. Well, there's a reason Mars is known as the Red Planet. It's because it's drenched in blood. I tried it up a while ago, but we used to go there and kill the peaceful people that lived on that planet, the blowtorchs. They were very nice and cultured and very physically refined, and for that they had to die. The problem is that these islands are actually actually actually actually actually actually In my eyes I summon chaos legions From the dead I can have your life Watch the Lord fields glisten On the shores of the world See the sled of Nebulon Raise him to the fire The myriad lights As God ignites The heavens unclog Damnation under God God, God, God I'm paper to gold God, God, God Damnation under God Desecrate the pleasure birds I'll find your father's way Go search for my father On the mountain top of the sea See the feet of God's skull I can find it in his words Go and find my mother God On the planet of the heart On the planet of the heart Interfere with the moonlights To create a master race Consecrate some power To put an end to my day See monasticism Dragon From the cage of cosmic leaks Finally, I'm isolated Of queer things Now Now Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Damnation Damnation Damnation Damnation On Sunday, March 23rd, the sad news from Richmond, Virginia, that Dave Brokey, known as Odorous Orungus of Guar, had passed. Indeed, it was tragic. Especially to hear such a visionary, such a true pioneer, true entertainer, a very talented and creative person with the best sense of humor. He brought excitement and joy to countless millions of kids and old fuckers like myself with youthful souls. You know, at times I despised him for showering me and saturating me in Guar blood and space semen. But in the end, I wish I could have him come all over me one last time with one last Guar show. Indeed. Wow. He came from a place where we all had gone wrong. They said he was weak. I said he was strong. Why don't you go back? Go back to that land where legends are from. Go back and live forever. Safe travels, my friend. Fly on. He came from a place where we all had gone wrong. They said he was weak. I said he was strong. I said, come along. Come along. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. His wisdom But this was his wrath And this was His torment Shattered was his path Rushing through The cosmos To see his soul unfurled He was Cruel yet somehow fair Spurning, turning, twisting Word But his dreams of glory They can never die There you see Your lord and master Striking across the sky Oh Won't you come with me To the place where angels Fear to flight will ravage Untold worlds And spit upon the sky Oh yes There is a place To make the devil Cry Oh won't you come with me To the place where Legends never Die Hey Whoa Yes Now The fate Of chaos I don't want to go No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No The Where angels fear to tread We'll rip apart the sky And have sex with the dead No one can come with me To the place where angels fear to fly Heaven across the world And spit upon the sky Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! We'll rip apart the sky And have sex with the dead No one can come with me To the place where angels fear to tread We'll rip apart the sky And spit upon the sky And spit upon the sky Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Fly out, baby Fly out Warning. The songs you are about to hear are intended for mature listening audiences only. If you have a weak mind or heart and don't like words like shit, fuck, or cunt, then please refrain from listening any further. It's time for some real music. It's showtime. We have seen imitators. We've also seen duplicators. But now, it's time. For the unwritten nature. Well, get out of that bed. Wash your face and hands. Get out of that bed and wash your face and hands. Get out of that bed while it shakes Los Angeles and the rest of the world. You're listening to the very, very accustomed to earthquakes. Very shaken. Listen to the very... Shaken, not stirred. Listen to the very manic Jimmy Cab show. I am your host, Jimmy Cabs, along with... Oh, wait a minute. Ready? Shake! Rattle and roll! Shake! Rattle and roll! Alright, let's cut it out. Let's welcome Los Johnny. Here's Johnny! Johnny! Hey now, hey now. I gotta tell you, man. Everybody's... Here in Southern California, we had a tremor. Actually, we had two. When was that? Friday night? Friday and yesterday, actually. And by the way, both times I was stoned. Let me just say this. For those of you that are outside of Los Angeles, you're not gonna relate. You're not gonna understand. For those of you that are in Los Angeles that are native Angelenos, how annoying are all these implant motherfuckers? Oh, they're bummed. They're so bummed. Okay, you came to the lovely city of Los Angeles. You have to realize... This lovely weather that we have year-round, it comes with a fucking cost and a very high risk in moving here. Okay, let me just say this. And please, retort. Please come on in here. I don't know about you, but I'm very open and honest with my immaturity. I've embraced it very well. Okay, one of the things that I understand that as time goes on, things change. I'm just barely getting accustomed to the whole transformation of... Downtown Los Angeles becoming this New York-type bizarro world. It's a hub now. Yeah, I mean, I'm just barely accustomed to... I mean, I'm not used to white people as it is, but, you know, I'm just barely accustomed... White people. White people. No offense to Mr. X. Yeah, Mr. X. Why don't you chime in here if you can? I'm just becoming accustomed to their rituals, their... I mean, we grew up in a very... Their culture is, I mean... They must not... They must not get slapped in New York. They must not get spanked in fucking Chicago or... Well, those are two rough cities, but you're talking about anywhere outside of those two cities. The culture is very... And I'm being polite here by saying linear. Okay, well, here's the deal. So we had an earthquake, all right? Mind you, it wasn't that big. It wasn't that big of an earthquake. Listen, it wasn't that big. You came to California. You came to Los Angeles. You know, you're walking your dog, shitting all over the fucking street. You're bumping into fucking... You know, people from fucking, you know, East Los and not saying, excuse me. You're going to the farmer's market and bitching about the lack of organic kale. Yeah. I mean, just shut the fuck up, okay? I mean, this is what Los Angeles is about. You know, if you don't have a stockpile of water, food, and ammunition, shame on you. Straight up. You're living in these converted buildings that... I was just talking about this earlier. Here in downtown Los Angeles, I'd say about what? Maybe seven, eight, ten years ago? When this whole real estate boom came in, where these abandoned buildings that used to be commercial buildings that had strict regulations here in Los Angeles. True. To meet up to earthquake, you know, code. Yep. Once they became residential buildings, guess what? Whoops. What? What codes? What? A couple million in my pocket? Oh. Oh. Huh? Shit. So, here you are here in Los Angeles, living in beautiful downtown Los Angeles, where fucking, you know, homeless fuckers are shitting. And pissing outside of your fucking window. And Zac Efron gets beat up. I'm trying to look for sushi. Okay, so... And you run the risk of having your building collapse if a serious quake comes into play. Which is seriously a matter of moments. Yeah, I know. It's really on deck. Stockpile water, food, and ammunition. Is there an app for that? Don't bitch about it on Facebook. Don't be crying. Don't be crying about, oh my God. This is Los Angeles. Okay, counselor. This is also very true. And it's something that needs to be reminded about everyone who lives here. There are six or seven faults. Not one, not two. Seven faults that are going through the metropolitan downtown Los Angeles area. There's one that goes literally down Hollywood Boulevard. There's one that's going under right here, right now. The San Andreas Fault cuts right through downtown like a knife. Right through the middle. There's some out in, like the one in Fullerton. There's some out in the west side. There's six or seven within, I would say, a 12 to 15 mile range. Seven faults. We are fucked. This is a matter of time. Gather your shit. As a matter of fact, I need to gather my shit because I only got water. Get ammunition. I'm going to get, you know, I'm going to indulge in my second amendment right. Yeah, you know, so listen. Welcome to California. If you don't like it, go back to fucking. Ohio. Ohio. Go back to Pittsburgh. Go back to Pittsburgh. Go back to Pittsburgh. Go back to Pittsburgh. Go back to Pittsburgh. Go back to Pittsburgh. Go back to Texas. New York. Chicago. You know how many Texas license plates I see a day, counselor? It's not even funny, dude. It's a day on the, what? While everybody's. Again, this America, America, let it be known. Los Angeles is that hot chick that everyone wants to fuck, but she will fuck you right back and then some. Yeah, yeah. Learn it. She will fuck you right back. Seriously. While everybody's crying and whining about fucking the earthquake. I can't believe I. I can't believe how serious. How serious it was. Like, dude, it's a five. It's a five point. Relax. My $15,000. Hey, New York, we have the changes and the seasons. We don't deal with this shit. Yeah, but you have like below zero weather. Yeah, dude. You know what I mean? I think the worst that happened. Pick your poison. Yeah, I think the worst that happened to me and Mike was our bong moved. It got shook to the other end. All right, we started the show with a nice little touching tribute to, I'm sure I butchered his name. Dave Brockie. Dave Brockie, a.k.a. Odorous Serungus. How tragic was it when he passed away last Sunday? That was such a bummer. Such a bummer. I gotta say, I had the chance to meet him a couple of times. That guy was really a great fucking guy. Coincidentally, last week we had Jim Reed of Occultus on the show. They're from Richmond. He works as a tech for GWAR. So, I mean, it's just really sad. We extend our condolences out to the whole GWAR family, especially to Dave Brockie's family. I mean, it's just a fact that an individual like Dave Brockie. That died at 50. Yep. Fuck. Sad. Really sad. And the fact that they're speculating. I mean, toxicology reports haven't came in, but I hope it's not drug related. Yeah, that would be a rules. That would really. I mean, that guy brought so much joy. And you know what? I am so glad. What's up, Darmike? Last year, we attended the GWAR show when they came to town. Wasn't I bitching? I was there. You were bitching. Were you there? I was there. I was at the Glass House. No, House of Blues. It was at the House of Blues. Sorry. Am I complaining? Yeah. Oh, fuck. Go to the kids. I'm glad that I attended because, number one, it was such a great show. They always put on a good show. Yeah. You know? Always. Never disappointed. There was that period where my fucking toxic, fucking manic depressive, fucking extreme anger side came like, ah, it's the same shit. You know what? When I went to that show last year, man, it wasn't the same shit. It was entertaining. It was fun. I mean, I was excited. I felt like a kid. And just the. The great idea of GWAR no longer being fronted by odorous is just tragic to me. I know that they announced that they're still going to continue with the GWAR barbecue. Right. I guess they're going to make a tribute out of that. Which I'm in agreement with that, you know. But. Celebrate his life. But. But. But to have GWAR continue without him, I don't know about that. I don't know about that. You can say the same thing about Slayer. No, Slayer's done for me. I know. But quickly, Councilman, one of the best shows, again, we're talking about GWAR. I saw GWAR at the Palais. And the Melvins opened. That was. I was there. How great was that? Almost turned into a riot. Dude, I. Again, I didn't realize. I mean, I didn't realize. I knew what I was getting in for, for GWAR. But I was not prepared for the Melvins. And again, that just shows the. I don't know. Awesome. What was that? 1990? 1991? 93? 94? Yeah. Because I remember the. I remember literally it almost turned into a riot during the Melvins set. Because they played all the songs slow. No, they played one song and it was like 30 minutes. I know. I know. I was not prepared. What the fuck is this band? Who's this sideshow Bob looking motherfucker playing these slow ass riffs? Yeah. I was not prepared. And then, yeah. GWAR came on and, you know, cum and blood everywhere. It was awesome. It's amazing. Again, it's just sad. It's really tragic. I've been actually really bummed out about this death. And I just hope it's not in any way, shape, or form drug related. The fact that he died at 50 is tragic enough. So, we send off our condolences to Richmond, Virginia, and the whole GWAR crew. And especially out to Jim Reed and the cultists and all those guys. Man, we wish you the best. All right. You know, this week was very interesting. There was, I, it's very rare that I'm actually moved and also where I'm in awe of respectable people. Let me mention this. In Boston, two firefighters died heroically. Yep. As you know, I'm not an avid law enforcement fan. Last week, you know, I gave out best wishes to the canine. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Heroic. Heroic. Got blasted in the fucking face and then the bullet an inch from his heart. Fucking A, man. But in Boston, two firefighters died heroically. And that right there really goes to show you how dedicated these men are. In Houston, Texas, a firefighter. Did you see that image where the building, there was a construction site. Oh, yeah. Yeah. And this firefighter on a ladder literally was extended and saved the guy minutes before that whole building collapsed. I mean, so in Houston, Texas. We salute you as well. In Washington, with the mudslide that went on over there, man. That's fucking tragic right there. But the heroism and the dedication of these firefighters looking for survivors. Balls out, man. Just searching for survivors. You know what? We got to congratulate these guys. Let's give these guys firefighters worldwide, man. Oh, yeah. By the way, pay them more. Yeah, pay them more. Pay them more, please. You know, I'll take a half cent fucking pay rate or tax rate hike. Pay these fuckers, please. Because that could be very, that could realistically be us under a pile of rubble. I know my apartment is, it's being held up by matches. I'm so not looking forward to being fucking crushed over my fucking, my neighbor's apartment, dude. So bummed. Yeah. At least I got Wi-Fi. Real quick, let me just throw this special dedication out. Saul Ontiveros. He was one of the. As I mentioned before, when I was a kid, he was one of the guys that turned me on to this addiction called the music. So he's also a fighter up, a firefighter up north. We want to. I personally want to send him best condolences. All right. Let's talk about odorous real quick. That death really right there is trash. Let's hear this soundbite. Approximately 6.53 p.m. on Sunday, original police officers were called to a residence in the 4,800 block West Seminary Avenue for a report of a deceased individual. When officers. Arrived, they found David M. Brocky 50 deceased inside the home. And right now, detectives do not suspect foul play. But the minute we're waiting on the medical examiner's office to determine the cause and manner of death. Fly to where angels fear to fly. Go to a place where legends never die. Fuckin a man. Odorous rung is dead at 50. Fuck. Yeah. Let's get into some music. This this set right here is dedicated to all you hipsters out there that are reciting. In Los Angeles. I've been crying all week. I've been crying because odorous is dead. I don't know about you. Lost. I'm crying because gas is $4 again. God damn it. I'm glad we're drinking. Last week, a lot of you sent me emails in Texas telling me that, you know, you wanted me to drink. I'm drinking now. So real quick, we got a great show for you today. Joanna. The Donis. I can't platon. Plots the Donis from the oath. Are you familiar with the oath? I'm going to be very familiar and I've seen pictures and I'm excited. Let me just tell you this. This band is so in the underground. They are one of the new, exciting, fresh things. This is a band coming out of. Well, it's interesting because, well, you know, we'll just leave it. Just fucking play the music. Yeah, let's just get into this block. We got a great interview with Joanna Sedona's of the oath and then Inquisition. The interdimensional entities known as Inquisition will be stopping by here and hopefully we won't have a quick where this. Building will fucking collapse. All right. That's a nice little set dedicated to all you Angelenos out there, especially you transplants from God knows where you're coming from. Shake, rattle, roll. Lost Johnny, what did we hear? Oh, man, we heard a rocking and rolling quite literally in the set. We started it off properly at the top of the set with obviously the shout out to Odorous Urungus. Guar, Intro Madness at the Core of Time from the record Battle Maximus. After that, we heard Sick of You from my personal favorite war album, Scum Dogs of the Universe. After that, we heard Damnation Under God from Lust in Space. And we ended that set with Fly Now from Battle Maximus. After that, we heard Dawnbringer, Heavy Shit, Like an Earthquake. Yes, we feel them here in the Pacific Rim from the record Nucleus. After that, we heard Massacre as We Want to Wait to Die. From their record Back from Beyond. After that, we had Bloodhammer. Yes, Destruction from the record Obsidian Thetanalysate Aureate. Oof. Pretty intense, but I did pronounce it correctly. After that, we heard ACDC. Dude, do I even gotta fucking explain the name of the song and the name of the record? You Shoot Me All Alive. All Night Long from Back in Black. After that, we heard Crucifix. Yes, Blind Destruction from their legendary Dehumanization record. After that, we heard Texas' Own Buddy Holly, Shake, Rattle, and Roll. And we ended the set properly with another Buddy Holly fan in Lemmy with Motorhead Shake the World from their record Overnight Sensation. You know, it's funny because when that earthquake hit and all the pandemonium that was going on, especially on social media, and you could just tell all these people that are not from Los Angeles Oh my God! Don't fuck! Let me give you a really good advice what to do when you have a tremor like that. What I did is I grabbed my special gal pal and you know, did we go and check our stockpile of water, ammunition, and food? No. I choked the fuck out of her. I pissed on her. I inserted a Twix in a bad place. Actually, it was her own dildo, but anyway. By the way, let me just say one thing. If you're gonna have a female insert things on you, make sure that it's lubricated. Oh, what? Wait, she's not a lady like that? She didn't at least fucking spit on it? It's kind of gay when you're like having things up your orifice. Hands off, Jenny. Make sure you do that. Make sure you lubricate your personal toys. Hey, babe, could you spit on your dildo before you stick it up my ass? Thank you. But yeah, you know what? When you have a tremor like that, just go fuck. It'll calm you the fuck down. You know, again, both the tremors that was felt, I was very high. I was home. I was super stoned. Friday and Saturday. I'm just sitting there. I don't know what the fuck I was doing, but I was like, that's an earthquake. Am I high or is that an earthquake? Yeah, am I really that high? Because I had some shit where I was just like, I thought, I'm just getting out of a car. Is that an earthquake? No, I'm just high. Or I'm just drunk. And then when there's an actual earthquake, I'm like, oh, dude, it's a fucking earthquake. And again, I'm waiting for my apartment to collapse. So if I go out like that, then fuck it. Whatever. At least I'll go out high. Well, here's the deal. June 14th at the observatory in Santa Ana. There's gonna be another earthquake. The crucifix, which we just played a tune. Ooh. They're coming out here? Yeah, they're gonna be out here. June 14th at the observatory in Santa Ana. They're gonna be playing with Final Conflict. Whoa. So that's gonna be a nice little earth shaker. Rattle and roll. I'm excited for that. You know, it was funny. I was bummed out. As I mentioned before, the death of Otaris has really affected me, especially since he died at 50. And I'm in my early 40s. It really makes you think about your longevity on Earth. But I want to thank War Pig, who is a morbidly obese, extremely sweaty individual. We saw him last night at Destruction. How grotesque is this guy, man? I've only met him in passing, and he definitely lives up to his name. Like, when he talks to you, he's like, Hi, Jimmy. Like, I feel so sorry for his heart. It's gotta pump all that blood through the heart. Dude, those clogged, arteries. Jeez. Oh, my God. But he shared a video with me on Facebook. And for those of you that follow me on Facebook, it has, as a matter of fact, Hands Off Jenny let me know that the audio when I was watching that segment came on the air. Whoops. Can you play that audio? Do I need to... Alright, let's play this video here. Listen to this audio. What it is, is it has, like, a sheep herder. Sheep herder. Tacos? Was it over in Scotland? Yeah, let's just play this audio. It's fucking great. Terrible. Oh, shit. Whoops. I bet you PETA loved that video. Oh, that's just a massacre right there. I like how that last sheep is freaking out, like, oh, shit. What the fuck? Now, for those of you that come from, like, a Hispanic-Latino background, you know that is, like, birria being served on the fucking asphalt right there. What is birria? In English there. What is it? Sheep? Goat? I wouldn't say it's, like, lamb. That's some butchered lamb. I know. There's people in Scotland and England who are bummed out because they're not gonna get their lamb and mint. So, someone's gonna pay. This is really interesting. So, this is another thing that really freaked me the fuck out. Last week, I shared with Salvador and Mike that I went to go see a movie with Matthew McConaughey, called Dallas Buyers Club. Dallas Buyers Club. Which I have yet to see and I really do want to see. Okay, let me tell you something, man. When you watch that movie and if you're, like, a carnal fucking, uh, you know, a very debaucherous person like myself. You're a ravenous fornicator. There's a scene in there, and especially in the beginning, it's, like, within the first 40 minutes, where, you know, this guy, you know, he's, like, a fucking bull rider, you know, rodeo guy, real alpha male, fucking all kinds of horrors, and, you know, even when, like, he goes before he competes, and somehow he ends up going to the hospital and he has an AIDS test, and he turns out to be, you know, negative. Positive. Positive. Positive for HIV virus. Ugh, that freaked me the fuck out. I literally was having a panic attack. I'm there. In the theater. Yeah, I'm there with, like, my special gal pal, my fucking soulmate and shit, right? And I'm fucking literally choking on the Twizzlers or fucking Or is she? Because, you know, it's like the Christmas carol, you know, when Scrooge is in bed and the ghosts of Christmas past are coming to haunt him? It's like that Chris Rock line, the ghost of pussy past is coming back. Oh, dude, the horrors of Jimmy Cat's carnal past were coming to haunt me, dude, as I'm watching the movie, like, I'm like, oh my god. And then... I fucked that chick? Oh, fuck. Yeah, and then I read this, that somewhere, where was it at? It's in Kenya. There is a very attractive... She's fucking smoking hot, man. There's a very attractive young lady that has been infected. She's been infected with the HIV virus, and she has taken it upon herself to get payback, so she's fucking anybody, anywhere. She's literally infected 324 men. Awesome. Dude. No, I'm joking. That's shitty, dude. That's like straight up serial killer shit, dude. Yeah, like, really? Like, that really... I mean, yeah. Like, you're a dick. You're a fucking dick. You're a cunt. Total cunt. You know, and... High level. Truly, I don't know about you guys, but I mean, I've been open and honest about, you know, I'm not really a condom guy, and so when you read shit like this, it just makes you not... You're not gonna eat your burrito cool. It just makes you want to reach for a fucking... There's a line that I heard. It was, you know, you had me at hello and goodbye at condom? And then this is interesting. You know, this has been in the news for a while. So there's a female student out of Duke University, Ah, Belle Knox. Who has gone into porn. I actually like her porn. She's a horrible actress. She's not really all that. Well, what do you expect? You know, but it's just something awesome about seeing, like, a regular girl being, like, fucked to death by these dudes. Plowed. Plowed. Literally. But, um, this is interesting. So her dad returned from Afghanistan. Apparently he's, like, a medic, and he came back from Afghanistan. He's a doctor. He's not just a medic. He's a fucking high-level doctor. Can you imagine that? He's dealing with, like, Taliban incoming. Dealing with all the fucking casualties that are going on all the way. Which, by the way, the horrors of war. For those of you that are nice and safe here in the United States, Afghanistan is still a very hot zone. Very, very hot. There's just so, I mean, the news has been just fucking saturated. They moved on, but it's still a gnarly place. It's not on your travel-to-go list. Yeah, I mean, it's just a very hostile place. So the troops out there are dealing with, like, some real serious shit. So this guy, he does this tour. He comes back, and then guess what? Your daughter's a fucking... Hey, dude, look on this. What I saw on Pornhub. That would be fucked up. That's a... Dude, that looks like little Jenny. Not that Jenny. Not that Jenny. I just threw out a name. I'm sorry. Okay, Jenny. Heads off. Jenny's like, what? How did you know? Mixer X is like, because I'm pimping it. Mr. X is like, we need that weed show. We were supposed to have a weed show today. We were supposed to get stoned and then listen to sleep. Yeah, that's been postponed. Hey, you know what? Counselor, we should save that for April 20th, which happens to land on a Sunday. Ah, there you go. Nice and scheduled. All right, so... Jeez, I lost my train of thought. And that's also Easter, so that just makes it even better. We're gonna get so high, we're gonna see bunnies and shit. How fucked up is that? Like, you know, like, hi, I just came back to the world. You know what I mean? I'm trying to acclimate myself into normal life. The first thing you find out when you step off the plane, like, your daughter's fucking on film. And the whole fucking world knows about it. You know, she's fucking too, man. I gotta tell you, like, she's a pro. She's doing really well, man. I mean, but she's very articulate, very intelligent, but when you watch her videos, it's not that she's, like, very sexy. I don't think she's hot at all. That's just my opinion. No, she's not, but the fact that these dudes are fucking her sick. Straight up, you know? And I just had a sex session a couple days ago, and you know, I'm not very proud to say that my stamina wasn't as it should be, but when you watch this chick... You gotta change your diet, counselor, but that's another story. Literally. So, anyways, welcome back to the United States. We missed you. Open arms. While your daughter has open legs. Hey-o! And cum on her face. There's her empowerment. Hey, but on the real... That's so awesome. Like, I'm studying to be God knows what at Duke University, which is a very prestigious... Yeah, it's a very elite, private university. You just don't... You don't waltz into Duke unless you got a basketball scholarship, but that's different. I like how they make fun of her in these videos. Like, oh, so you're a prestigious student at Duke University, and then, like, second letter, she's covered in semen. You know, the funny story about how that came about was she was doing her thing on the side, you know, kind of... She would fly out here and, you know, no one knew. But, of course, some dude was on the internet, looking around, was like, oh, shit, that girl was in my fucking whatever class. And so, he goes up to her and is like, I know what you do. And she was saying, like, please fucking don't tell anybody. I'm really trying to keep this low pro. Come on, dude. He fucking ratted her out. That... That's a dick move. Well, you know, come on, dude. Like, if you're not gonna do the same... Well, no, I wouldn't do that. I mean, just saying, like, you know, if it's one thing to keep your low pro shit low pro, that's fine. But, you know, when you... When someone else finds out about it and then goes out and just, like, blabs it to the world, dude, that's fucked up. I gotta tell you, let me mention this. It wasn't that long ago that I was dating, like, a young porn actress. Which, by the way, they're fucking all head cases. It's not cool. No! What? Get out of here! I'm the only guy that had to, like, have a porn actress cry for head. You know, like, oh, you're gonna suck your dick? All you care about is what you want from me? You're like, please. Where's the powder? You know? But anyways, um, but we were... This reminds me of when we were out, you know, because you gotta play the role. You gotta take the call out. You know, this is when I had money. And, um, this dude comes up to us, right? We're, like, in this little casual restaurant. He comes up to us. He's like, I have all your movies. You're so beautiful. Oh, man. Oh, shit. And I'm sitting there going, like, oh, really? Oh, I love... I love your scenes. And, like, dude, like... I love your interracial scenes where you get plowed. You can just see the deprive... You can just see the sickness in this guy. Like, he was slash borderline stalker, you know? Like, fucking Bonneria Tony kind of like. Tony, Tony. You know? Handsome Tony. Yeah, it's a lot to deal with. So, anyways. That poor father. Alright, let's get back on track. Yes. I conducted an exclusive interview with Joanna Platone Sedonis from The Oath. I know I butchered that name. Sorry. This is a band that is being discussed highly in the internet and in the underground. This is a band that really is just, just, like, similar to the Tremors here in Los Angeles. Causing a lot of shaking and rattling going on. So, why don't we listen to a track and then we'll get into an exclusive interview I conducted with this young lady. The Oath. Let me just mention this real quick. The Oath will be releasing their debut album here in the United States April 15th on Rise Above Records. And they've been putting out the good shit lately. So, my ears are... Lee Dora knows his music. Exactly. I'm already interested and I might as well say I'm gonna buy it already. So, fuck it. Alright. So, let's get into it. Hands off, Jenny. Hit it! A bizarre little item here offered to the gourmet who takes his banquet seriously. If sometime you're invited to a picnic under the moon, you might best check the other guests. The ones who didn't arrive in automobiles. Who, as a matter of fact, parked their brooms in the corner of the meadow. This little nocturnal clown make is called Witch's Feast. Her name is We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. and in this kind of thematic since I was a young teenager and very morbid-minded and very drawn to thinking a lot about death. And, you know, I started working in an occult bookshop when I was a teenage girl 20 years ago after school, and that actually shaped me a lot, you know. I think I'm a very spiritual person. You can read that in the lyrics. Though, I must say, you know, when I use words very bluntly, like Satan, Lucifer, demons, and so on, you know, of course, I'm aware that it might sound very blunt, but then again, I thought using this as a sign method, you know, we are a fucking heavy metal band, and I do relate, you know, to these topics. And some of it is metaphorical, of course. You know, demons can be all kinds of things, you know. Yeah, exactly. When you have a big night out and you end up doing a bunch of blow, you know, and then you regret it, you know, or whatever demons you have. And then lyrical content. I mean, all of it, it's not like fucking fairy tales. I do draw things and pick up stories from my life just in a way that it turns into something else in the songs. And there's some very personal things in there, you know. There's this one ballad, Leaving Together, that's actually about the death of one of my best friends that died more than 10 years ago. And, you know, the thought of suicide. Because I get very heavy sometimes, you know. And then I always think of my friend who left. And, you know, and sometimes I think, you know, if we could leave together in the comfort. But anyways, it's very personal. It's very dark. But it does evolve around the typical rock and roll topics. And I admire that because that is why when the listener listens to this record, there's a very... There's a very simple sincerity to the lyrical content, which is, again, something that sometimes lacks with current music, where everyone wants to have a showmanship of how evil they are, whatever. The real darkest and evil entities are within the human nature and the human subconscious, in my opinion. So I commend you on that. I think so, too. And I try to purposely actually keep it kind of simple, you know, with the wording. Well, first of all, I wouldn't say, like, I'm a super gifted lyricist, you know. I'm maybe not so good. And that's why, you know, we didn't want to... I didn't want to print the lyrics. But I wanted to keep it simple because when you listen to a rock and roll language, like of bands, hard rock and metal bands and so on, from the 70s and 80s, you know, the lyrics are kind of simple. And it's not like overly stylized, like black metal bands or whatever, you know. They're trying to be super musical. And I mean, how many fucking goat whores and the others can you have, you know? Exactly. It gets mundane after a while. Yeah, exactly. Another thing that I really liked about this record is your melodies. There has been recently in underground extreme music, especially here in America, the bands that are fronted by females, they are bringing back melodies and they're taking away that stereotype that melodies is weak. I really like the fact that on your record, it's so diverse, but also that it includes melodies. How do you feel about that? Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I must say, you know, even though I listen to so much black and death metal in the 90s as a teenager, the older I get, the more I go back into musical history, you know. And I mean, nowadays I listen to so much 70s stuff, you know. I'm a big fan of, it's completely not metal, you know, old, like 70s Fleetwood Mac and 70s Heart and Jefferson Airplane and stuff like that, you know. So I think I'm very influenced. And I love bands like Led Zeppelin and so on. And then, you know, I'm a big Westwood Fade fan on the other hand, and dancing and so on, and all these people sing, you know. And yeah, I mean, I'm not trying to be tough, you know. I'm a musician and I like to make melodies. Well, I commend you on that because it really does, it's very refreshing as an art. It's very refreshing to see artists that are really coming back and bringing back real traits into music. The Oath. The Oath. Will be released April 15th on Rise Above Records. Yeah, in the States, yeah. In the States, correct. Is it released, what is the release date for Europe? That was already on March 17th in the UK and a few days later throughout all of Europe. And yeah, there's a lot of different formats of the vinyl and of course the STDs as well. There is going to be a Japanese edition later on too. Wow. Which has actually a bonus track on it, which is a cover of Demons, Night of the Demons. Oh, wow. Yeah. So, and we recorded that actually with a new bassist, Leo Smee of Cathedral. He used to play at Cathedral at least. And yeah, that was fun to do. We just went back to the studio to do that. Now, this is very interesting. Eric Danielsons of Watain is the one who designed your logo, is that correct? Yeah, that's correct. Okay. Wow, that's pretty impressive. Yeah, he's a friend of us. So, it was a personal decision to, I asked him and he said yes. And the first thing he sent, that was fire and flame. You know, it was the perfect thing. I do feel like a spiritual connection to him. So, it meant a lot to me. But we've been friends with him for years. She has and I have. So, yeah. And now, I might butcher this because I'm known for butchering names. But is it Henke Palm of In Solitude? Oh, it's fine. You get to butcher this. You know, I lived in Los Angeles for three years. So, I'm very used to people butchering my name too. Henke. Henke Palm. Henke Palm. Now, he also played on this record, correct? Yeah, he played, he contributed a few solos, yeah. Nice. And he was hanging out a lot at the studio because we were recording in Stockholm. So, a lot of people would hang out. Even Eric came by many times. And Keith of Destroyer 666 was there. And somebody from Ghost visited us. And it was fun. Yeah, it sounds like a really good environment there. It's really good. Yeah, completely. Yeah. The Oath. This is coming out April 15th in the United States. This is on Rise Above Records. I strongly recommend everyone to pick this album up. Again, what I really like the most is the fact that it's raw, simple, comfortable, and human. I want to thank you very much, Joanna Sedonis, for taking the time to talk to me. Thank you so much, Jimmy. It was really, really good talking to you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I got to tell you, The Oath, not only are they physically beautiful, but they're spiritually dangerous. If you are going to take that oath to damnation, make sure you pick up that record on Rise Above Records. And you know it'll be on vinyl too. Yeah, that's one of the most talked about bands in the underground right now. April 15th for all of you from North America, make sure you pick up the O's debut on Rise Above Records. I want to thank the very lovely Joanna Sedonis for taking the time to speak with me. Boss Johnny, what do we hear? Yes, we hit a double dose of the oath. Night Child and Black Rainbow. Oh yeah, I'm going to be excited when that record gets into my hands. And we ended this set properly with Denmark's own Merciful Faith from their EP. The name of the song is called Nuns Have No Fun. All right, man. Cheer up. Los Angeles, for those of you that have been shocked and traumatized by the tremors, let me just say this. April 5th at the House of Blues, the Metal Alliance tour is coming to town. Talk about an earthquake. Yeah. Let me just mention some of these bands. Behemoth, Goat Whore, 1349, Black Crown Initiate. But I want to welcome my guest. And this is a band that you most definitely need to experience. Let me just say this real quick before I introduce my guest. As you know, for over 30 years, I've been involved in the underground extreme scene. Within those 30 years, there have been some amazing bands that have really have gone beyond the creative element and also interdimensional element where not only do they open the portal and make you experience the infinite, the dark, the macabre, but as time goes on, especially as you get older, you lose the magnetism due to maturity and you become somewhat disappointed. This one band, though, that I'm about to mention, Inquisition, not only are they creatively, creatively, let me mention that, on top of their game, and not only do they truly have the integrity of the dark, but live is where they display their mastery. I want to welcome Dagon of Inquisition. Thank you for being here, sir. Good afternoon. Thank you. We have spoken before. One of the things that I've always enjoyed about speaking with an artist like yourself is the fact that you are real. You're also very intelligent, very articulate. So this is going to be a very interesting interview because, not only are we going to deal with the Inquisition world and what have you, but one of the things that I've always enjoyed about our own conversations is the fact that you really do display and you are very, very versed in the dimension that you deal with. So let's first off mention April 5th. You're going to be playing the Metal Alliance tour. How do you feel about being about that tour? We're very motivated, very excited. I have no problem admitting that. Excitement in black metal is a very human thing. It's a good thing. And, you know, you talk about aging and all this stuff. The adrenaline is still there and it only gets better. Of course, I don't know who would sit here and say, oh, we're not looking forward to it. I mean, of course we are, but... Heavy hitters. We are very much motivated. The day I lose that, I think it's the day to at least get off the road and get away. I think when you, when you hit the road, you need to do it with full force. And that's what people in metal want to go see is, you know, the bands they like giving everything they got regardless whatever genre or style they do. That's what it's about. So we're very excited about it. Now, this is really interesting. This tour is really, really interesting because as I mentioned before, this is the heavy hitters. But one of the things that I really, really am captivated by is even though each and every one, each and every one of these bands has their own merit and they hold their own underground credibility. Inquisition is a beast upon, that is elite in this bill. One of the things that I've always admired and I've always expressed to you as an artist is the fact that you do not fall into that mundane cookie cutter, black metal, repetitive, boring category. Mm-hmm. I would say that, within the last 10 years, there are very few artists that, within that genre, that have fallen into that creative capability where, yeah, we're dealing with the fallout of the whole influential black metal, you know, panda makeup and all that. There are very few artists that have really taken it creatively, but retained the integrity of, of what black metal is, and ventured off and created a whole new dimension. This is what I attribute to you and to Inquisition. When I listen to Inquisition, there is a whole new injection of not only subversiveness, rebelliousness, what the whole black metal genre is supposed to bring out of you, a whole uprising, but there's a very intellectual aspect to it, which I, I admire. And I think if the listener really tends to put aside what the black metal mystique is supposed to be, it really opens up your mind to a whole new portal, creatively. Explain to me the new record and the premise of it, because it really is beyond. Correct. The topic you're, you're pointing out is very, very complex. It's an album for a person who's a thinker. If you're not a thinker, some people may not get, or understand maybe even what you're talking about or pointing out. This is a thinker's album. It's a, it is. And I think regardless of what style of black metal you do, whatever, whatever you're making or creating, an artist will always justify what they do, of course, as real and authentic. And I guess I have no problem admitting that this is art. It's, it's, it's spirituality, it's art, it's many things. It's what you want it to be. I could sit here all day and explain to people what this is to me and what I'm trying to project. But at the end of the day, it's how it's interpreted. And this is where sometimes there's some collisions. You know, some people will have an opinion of, well, Inquisition isn't reinventing anything or not original. I would disagree with that. Of course. And I say, of course, because there's the other spectrum that will say, wait, you know, red flag, where are you getting this from? When there's, you know, not literally, but a million black metal bands out there, you know, hailed, and nobody's ever raising a red flag on them, calling them out. You know, not to start off the interview like this, but it's a very important element because we're starting the interview or this conversation with what your opinion is. And I, not because I'm in the band, I agree. It's, this is very thought out what we do. It's very thought out. Everything that's done is done from the heart and it's done from the mind. And I, I think that's what I'm trying to say. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. My strategy is actually very neutral. the simplicity that's behind it that some people see as simplicity is by design, is to allow you to think more. And the way I'd like to try and impress people is by opening their mind, being somewhat traditional form of metal, but being a very deep, non-traditional form of black metal, especially in the theme itself or in the message. You know, staying within that particular area of darkness and obscurity, bringing in some realistic elements, scientific elements, you know, cosmic elements, on a science level even, to show people the mythologies that people dream about or imagine are being proven by science as something real. And I think that's what black metal is also. It's a dream world. It's a dreamscape, black metal. It's a mythology. But there's also a degree of realism to it. And that's what I'm out to prove, is that black metal is more than just a dream pipe. It's based on realities. When it might, to a certain degree, be viewed as a dying breed, but when a... a particular Satanist says Satanism is reality, it represents the obscure hidden side of man, you know, it's... that's what the universe is to me. The unseen, but because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. Would you agree that the premise of Satanism is intelligence? And what I mean by that, and I know right off the bat we're getting hostile here with, especially in this country where it is extremely addicted to these entities, such as God and what have you, but the premise of Satanism is intelligence. In other words, to counter think what you are being bombarded with. Correct. One of the things that I've always admired about you, not only as an artist, but as an individual, because I've got to know to know you as well, is the fact that not only do you encompass and embrace this and you live it, but you really do in your music and in your art inject intelligence. There are going to be... there are going to be many individuals that listen to this album, especially now because these kids are very critical, man. They really are. They're going to be like, hey, there's no references to like, you know, Beelzebub or Lucifer, what have you, but they don't grasp what the true black metal integrity, the trait is, which is independent thought, exposure, rebellion. Correct. I would say on this record, not only have you achieved that, Yes. I would say on this record, not only have you achieved that, Correct. I would say on this record, not only have you achieved that, Correct. I would say on this record, not only have you achieved that, but you would say, honestly, this is a masterpiece and it shows a maturity, a maturity growth, because not only does it take this into a whole new other dimension, but not only as an artist, but you break the ground and really expand on black metal. Feel free to express. I think what you're saying is, I mean, I agree with it. You truly are... I can relate to what you're saying. Let's just put it that way. Is that because we're both diabolical fuckers? Yeah. Or because we're intelligent fuckers? I'm going to get... I need to gather my thoughts because sometimes I get so many thoughts at once. I need to kind of organize them, you know, one through ten, because it'll affect the outcome of the message. Well, it's because you're not... This isn't a shtick for you. Unlike, unlike other... And I'm not reflecting this on... No, no. You live this. Yes. And... As I do. And the thing is, the word rebellion. Rebellion can be viewed as many things. I'm not trying to rebel against traditions of black metal, but at the same time, I guess I am, unconsciously, when I think, you know, we can go with traditional black and white covers. We can go with, you know, overly exposed black and white band photos. We can go with a different form of... You know, a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. You can go with a lot of these things. this colorful artwork and I'm not doing it so much to the point to where I invite controversy within the own genre itself but I am wanting and craving to be highly artistic by breaking limitations that a particular form of radicalism is being imposed on me that to me is a con is is controversial in itself because black metal is about breaking barriers yet there's this small little checklist and I do understand that it's called identity you know it's it's it's fine it's okay and it's good to have identity and stay within a certain perimeter so you kind of you know know who you are know what your band represents not just anything goes I mean I understand that so that being said uh the maybe the least important but the album cover I enjoyed highly reading all the comments about you know what's this what's that you know nitpicking every detail this is a thinker's music this is a thinker's art form and immediately this is a good way to kind of sift through those who just gobble up black metal albums after albums like fast food I highly advise that even if you don't think you'll like it in the long run whatever band you listen to or new album comes out we need I've said this before in interviews we need to slow down and if you order music on a monthly basis or every two weeks and you know by bulks of 10-20 albums don't just start going through all your albums take your time let it sit there and simmer until you actually do that which is actually a huge problem which is actually a huge until you're ready to really listen to it and read the lyrics. And in our case, every color, every movement, quote movement, every action on that album cover, every, and I repeat, color again, even on the fonts, everything ties in to a theme. Okay, well, yeah, a lot of people do that. That's okay. But it's not done just to be done. That's the thinker's part. That's where if somebody engages into the album, and when I say be engaged, I don't mean sitting there trying to see how many headbanging riffs are on the album. That's fine. I do that. I'm still like that. I want a lot of neck-breaking stuff going on. But are you able to go deeper? Are you really able to question, like, you know, instead of saying, wow, a band like this, painting a demon, that's horrible on the cover. What kind of demon is this? Well, it's Pazuzu. And he's green because he's a reptile. And that's exactly how the statues of Pazuzu look. Exactly like that. 5,000 years ago. I think it's interesting in the day and age that we're living in now, especially in the genre that we deal with, because even though people portray themselves to be subversive, rebellious, and they embrace the black metal mystique, they really have no idea what it really is about. I have a question. I'm going to jump in. I've listened to what is said, and I mean, I'm a fan, too. Don't get me wrong. How would you want the listener to go into this record, not only musically and visually, already having an awareness of not only the band, but the genre involved? Where is the responsibility between the listener already having an idea of what the person's getting into and your, I guess, your intent in pulling them deeper into where you are coming from creatively? That's a very good question. And if I understood it well, this is why I don't want to interfere with nature. Really? I told Incubator. Incubus, the drummer, for those who don't know, you know, about forum talk, critique, you know, we don't want to argue with people and try and prove something. And tours, when we're, you know, we have fans asking us questions or criticizing up front, which is respectable, but whenever we feel challenged, I always remind him and he reminds me that that's how it's supposed to happen. Think of... You know, photographers going out into the wild on these, you know, runs and, you know, prey, preying on the prey. They don't interfere. It's... That's nature. That's a great example. That's a great... That's actually a really good analogy. Don't get involved. Just let it happen. The brutality of nature. Let's not do... Let's not make phantom accounts on forums and back up the band like we're friends of the band or let's not do that. Just let people do their thing. And eventually, they might get some things. And I want to make this clear. You don't have to like Inquisition. I mean, I'm not saying we're the greatest of anything, but some of the feedback does remind me that we need to slow down and take our time. So what can I do so that happens? Well, all I can do is play from the heart, write from the heart and mind, you know, absolutely be authentic and listen. Love what I do. Know why I'm doing it. And that's my half of the whole. We can't complete the whole... I mean, you know, there's the side that a lot of people don't want to go over. You know, there's the marketing and there's the packaging and there's the... I mean, man, you can... The presentation of it all. I mean, you can wrap it up, make it smell like bubble gum. I don't care what you do to it. At the end of the day, it's a listener's responsibility. You know, are they going to be... I'm a simple consumer trying to be the coolest metal head with the most patches on their back and, you know, and I'm just this and this is what you should do or, you know, are there certain particular thinkers out there that are metal as hell but they also want a little more sophistication? You want more, man. You want more. Totally. You want someone to keep breaking. Even though... I'm sorry, Don Shani. Even though we are in... in this extreme rebellious scene. And no, you're right. It has become commercialized. It has become sanitized. There's a disconnect. There are these artists that focus on what they think the audience wants instead of what the integrity is. Correct. And they get sucked into the whole packaging of it. Yes. There's a disconnect with what a true... Well, and the thing is, and to add on that, on both of you, to build off of what you guys... what you're saying is, what can we do? That's kind of what I got from your question is... You've done it here. I just said it. We are half of the whole. And the beauty of not interfering with nature and having a forcible marketing campaign is it allows really... It's a... I can't think of the name. Basically, it's a filter. It sifts out. It weeds out the consumer mentality, which extremely exists in the most obscure levels of the underground. It is a parallel of what they criticize. Now, that's fine. Again, that goes into me. As far as black metal is concerned for me, I'm very... I keep it at arm's distance. I like it. It's not the first thing I put on, but... As a culture, as part of the other subcultures that we call metal, I've noticed that black metal types tend to be really fucking snobby, more so than any other genre music that I can think of. I can't even think of... Even hipsters aren't even that... Extremely judgmental. You've been dealing with that because you're... I'm saying that was the basis of my question in terms of they already have this... And again, this is a generalization. Of very... I mean, for lack of a better phrase, elitist mentality when it comes to this very distinct, pure music. Sure. I'll never argue that. But you've been dealing with that, Dan. Because of your vocals. You've been dealing with that aspect since the beginning of your band. You don't fit. Yeah. I know who I am. I'm fine with what I'm doing. I'm fine with everything. And you persevered with that. You know, I won't criticize you. I understand this elitist thing or being a little too overly proud. But, you know, there's pride that stems from... There's a sense of pride that... Well, you put the work in. Yeah. When you earn it. I'll just be straightforward. You earn it. You're proud of something. That's great. Now move on. Get over it. You know, but just to be an elitist because you listen to something that's just cool and extreme. That's an overly used word. And, you know, there's so much psychology going on. You know, I'm an older guy. I think things out more. You're mature. Yeah. You know, some people feed off of this music just on an adrenaline level. And black metal is just adrenaline to them when they're justifying saying it's ideology. But if I... I like to reverse interview sometimes. I think it's a low blow. But if, you know, sometimes I think some people deserve it. And when I redo a reverse interview, it's kind of like, well, I don't mean an interview like this. If I feel like a fan, well, a son, a wannabe fan or who's trying to come across as one. So if I start feeling challenged, I start questioning, well, where is this really coming from? I mean, you're not making sense now. I have tried to have more logical thought and it's wrong. Anyway, what we're doing, I think to summarize this part of the interview, it's what I'd like to say to people who may feel a little confused on really where we're going. Where we're going is, this is about, Inquisition is not, you know, just out of the same mold. We'd all like to think we're that way as people, as artists, yes. But we, really, I mean, you know. I mean, the comparison and the music speaks for itself. I mean, that distills everything, the philosophies and the attitudes and so forth. The music does speak for itself. Thank you. That in itself is, I mean, to be an asshole, that's the biggest fuck you everywhere, you know? Let me add to this. The creativity, the intelligence, the whole integrity, that's the word that I really want to interject here. The integrity is what makes this band stand apart. Yes. And what really, till this day, in a genre where there is a disconnect, and I don't want to insult anybody, but there is a disconnect to what true subversiveness, true rebelliousness, true black metal really is. And this is why you display this very well. This is why you encompass this. And let me mention this. If you want to see this live, because you are a live act. Absolutely. April 5th, the House of Blues, Metal Alliance Tour. Go see what I already know. Dude, let's listen to some fucking songs, man. We're going to do it right now. Los Angeles, stop, shut the fuck up. Inquisition, Goat Whore, 1349, Behemoth, Black Crown Initiate. Hands up, Jenny. Let's play some Inquisition. Now. I'm a witch man. Like my papi a fool me. He was the seventh son of a seventh son. And I was his seventh son. I know conjure stuff forward and backward and up and down. And I had no problem with that. And I had no problem with that. And I had no problem with that. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. before they go into battle, you know, I mean, even women feel great and a little better when they put their war paint on, right? Now, let me ask you this, though, because what's interesting about Inquisition is you also encompass the amplification, your instruments. Yes. Which is sometimes lost in the art of extreme black metal. That's another thing that I've always admired about yourself. Talk to us a little bit about that tool. Sound. Sound. And I'll be careful because I can be there for- Because visual and sound are two different demonic entities. And I can be there for a very long time on that topic. The, you know, I'd like listeners to look at it this way. Yes, black metal should or must, I guess, be raw. Well, raw can be many things. Polished can also be- Beautiful. Raw can be beautiful. It's how you present it. And when it comes to sound, what are you presenting? Are you thinking about presenting sound first or the songs first? Now, this is where I would argue with everybody. Raw doesn't mean better. Raw doesn't mean truer. Because sometimes people need raw sound to sound better. But then you're paying attention. The listener doesn't realize it, but there's some conscience. The way the brain works is now you're not paying attention to the song. What you're really blown away by is the sound. What I like is a balance. For Inquisition, I love the rawest of the raw, man. I mean, I'm even heavily into noise. But for Inquisition, I want a organic raw. Meaning I'm not trying- I don't- I'm not- I mean, I'm not the one behind this, but some of the ideas, yes. What Inquisition is after is, you know, not too warm, not too cold. Trying hard to stay away from the volume wars, if anybody knows what that is, and the mastering phase. Trying to get everything as loud as possible. It's a risk we have taken. We won't stand out as much immediately when people get, for example, like I said earlier in the interview, you know, they- I know most people these days buy a lot in bulk. Like, not bulk. I mean, they select what they're buying. I know they know what they're doing and picking out. But they get a lot through the mail usually at one time. And, you know, on a radio program, all this stuff. But in the long run, and this is something that was taught to me also, you know, and in the long run, a little bit of the organic sound, a fine line, that old school Slayer production really stands the test of time. And it allows for the- It allows for the songs to be heard more than the production itself. I like variety. I'm thinking about maybe us going a different direction a little bit in the next one. But this is just one tone or one color of many different albums. And this newest album is more about organics, which ties into the concept of the album too. I wanted everything to tie in closely. And, I mean, you need to ask me, because I can go- I can go- I can go anywhere when it comes to the sound. What I really admire the fact of not only live but on this album is that, aside from it just really having a true, what I would say, integrity factor, not only musically, not only intellectually, not only visually, but you can tell that there is a very true devotion to the sound. Yes. And when you say sound, I can take that two ways. One is that stamp we have of the style, the sound that the band produces or the production. Do you find yourself having a conflict when you're dealing with these engineers, these producers, especially these ego-minded producers who they think they're like, no, I know what's up. Yeah, that would be him right here. Were you the one? Really? Spotlight. Spotlight. Yeah. That would be him. Okay, this is a valid question. Do you find, being that you are an engineer and a producer, I didn't know that, by the way. Why don't you introduce yourself? I'm not an engineer. I just produced these two albums. By the way, long time no see. Why don't you introduce yourself? Oh, hi. Sorry. Yes. Long time no see. Long time no see, Jimmy. I'm not an engineer. I'm just a, I just produced the two albums, the last two albums of this band. And I have to say that I did it. First and foremost, from a fan standpoint. Perfect. Perfect. Because I've been a fan of this band since 1991. Even before they were black metal. You know, I saw Jason perform live in 1992 back in Columbia. So I've been following their career. You're not going to tell me, you're not going to reveal something like a Manantabba thing, are you? No, no, no. They were a killer thrash band back in the day. You know, badass thrash. In your face, can I create a German-ish thrash. Which we're going to get into that part of the region where you come from. Because there's talk about really, truly rebellion. But go ahead. I'm sorry. And so eventually we knew the same people, the same scene. And eventually we had a conversation back in 2006 about production. We just had a friendly talk. You know, we had a couple of beers. And we discussed many concepts about something. And then they went to Texas to work on their next album, which is Nefarious. And I heard the album and I thought it was killer. The music is fantastic, you know. But then it was birdied into this noise, so to speak. You know, into this very hard to digest production. And so I thought, like, it's going to be very hard for the regular metal listener, like myself. You know? To really dig into it and discover all the virtues of this band. Yeah. You know? So then we had a conversation again. And I told Jason, it would be nice to have a production in which you could really show everything you've got. You know? If you have a solo here, we want to hear it. If there's little nuances here and there, we want to hear these things, you know. Because they're part of your art. And this doesn't mean selling out. It doesn't mean washing it out. I mean, it means that everything you want to express is going to be more in the face of the listener. They're going to get it. They're going to get your product. Early in between the break, Counselor, you had a very great analogy in terms of what was just said about the sound coming across more like a painting by H.R. Giger. Oh, absolutely. And that on the surface, they're very monochromatic and, well, they look great. But once you really look into it, you can see the different hues. You can see the contrast. You can see how the colors on the surface look very flat. But when you look, and in this case, listen deeper, you can see where the hues separate. And that's when it starts growing in an organic sense to a much bigger plane. I have to cut into that because I've said this a million times. On the surface, it can appear to be simplistic to a lot of people. And then you dig. And I always tell people inquisition is emotionally complex. So it's not just an instant orgasm. I mean, you need to… That's foreplay, baby. Elongate it. I would say that inquisition, much like as the reference that I used during the break of being an H.R. Giger painting where you sit there and you know you're dealing with the macabre and the dark. I would actually say that inquisition is much like… My heart. My heart. My heart. My heart. My heart. My heart. My heart. My heart. My heart. My heart. My heart. My heart. My heart. My heart. CDC deals with, which is a disease that they do not know what they're dealing with and it becomes highly contagious and extremely dangerous and there is no cure. Be that as it may, April 5th, the House of Blues, the Metal Alliance Tour. Do I really need to go on and tell you this? It's just a fucking sick show. Inquisition, playing with Goat Horror, 1349, Behemoth, Black Crown Initiate. Hands off, Jenny. Jenny, let's play this. Now, let's spread the disease. Hit it! Satan. Satan, I call upon you. And in so doing, I revoke the name of... Go on, Joe. Read it. It calls upon us to revoke the name of God. Go on. Go on. Go on. Go on. Go on. I wouldn't say that I never did like you. I have disliked and detested you with great cordiality. I found you to be, from the moment you came into my office, a predatory, grasping, conniving, acquisitive animal of a man. Without heart, without conscience, without compassion, and without even a subtle hint of the common decencies. Shall we go on from there? I will make it work. From a flood. From a flood. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. I will make it work. date, Paravegium from Medellin and the album under the sign of evil from Sodom and then Hello Eights. That was early 86. And man, I just, it's like, I wanted to kill. I wanted to, I wanted to be bad. And then I managed to get a guitar. That's a long story just about that guitar. And that's where all my violence went into was that. And some of the things I saw, I mean, you know, I, I, Yeah. Poverty, suppression. I got to see dead people, man. I've seen it. I've seen, you know, 80s drive-bys, all that stuff. You know, it's, it's nothing out of this world extraordinary, but it's stuff that leaves an image in your head that, wow, you see the dark side of humanity right there before your eyes and you're into these extreme bands. It just goes together. Was that an influence? Yeah. Probably even on a subconscious level as a person. How do you feel about Inquisition being, and this is a fact, because I've been dealing with extreme metal fans from South America, especially in Venezuela. How do you feel about them being, I got to watch what I say because of the NSA. How would I say creatively being inspired to subverse and rebel with their tyranny that they're dealing with day now, present day? Are you aware of that? Are you also aware that in United States operations around the world, especially in Afghanistan, there's a lot of fans of Inquisition. Yeah. And they're listening to Inquisition while they're massacring the Taliban. They're listening to Inquisition. That's also a fact. That's awesome. Yeah. That's a, that's a fact. That's a, that's a, that's a ritual of war carried far. That's yeah. That's of course, very inspiring. I hope they continue to be inspired and you know, master their craft, you know, do, do, do what they're supposed to do. And how does that make you feel? Are you inspired by that? Are you flattered by that? Are you disturbed by that? Are you detached? I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. You know, one thing I hate about myself being so analytical because I even break that question down. If I, if I start to feel flattered, I warn myself because sometimes feeling flattered, uh, I don't want it to affect, I want, I want to keep things humble. You know what I mean? I feel it's a, yes, I do. I do feel flattered. I feel flattered when somebody, I feel flattered when you mentioned our album, how much you like it. And of course I feel flattered. And then I move on. Done. I heard it. It's great. And I, but yet I'm so focused on the mission I have, for example, for the next album. You know, it's kind of like maybe, I guess I'm not trying to say I won anything, but it's the only example I can say, you know, I won the battle and I move on to the next. Right. People are, are now it's starting to sink in. And that's one thing I want to hit real quick is simmering. And feeling flattered when some people don't like the album when it initially comes out, because everybody's in such a hurry. The fast food effect months later, people start to get it. A lot more people are starting to get this album that really flatters me. It's it's a big breath of a sigh of, oh, okay. Now they're connecting. I feel good. I think what you're dealing with is the fact that there are, first of all, not only are you not only in the United States, worldwide, there's a dumbing effect of society. But at the same time, there are pockets of resistance that are fighting the dumbing effect and are seeking intelligence and they're, they're seeking other resources of independence and they're rebelling, especially like. That's black metal. That is black metal. And you encompass that. Being an individualist when you're alone. When you're alone. And it's quiet. You think you're either going to enjoy it and think more or you're going to start to think about things you don't want to. And so you need noise. You need to be busy. You need distractions. You need to be angry. Yeah. And that's okay. But, uh, the essence of black metal is, you know, not, not to sit here, do the preaching thing, but in my opinion, it's at times the solitude thing is, is good. And the silence is good. And to think and take again. When you listen to. It, read into it. Some, not all black metal is meant to be so highly analyzed and you know, we have a big metal, heavy metal aspect to our music too. It is okay to just turn it up and go with it and not analyze anything. Now you're here in Los Angeles because you're doing a video, which is kind of funny, right? Oh, it's funny. A video. No, no, no, no. This is part of modern technology and communicating. How do you feel about doing a video? Well, well. You're the first one. Well, we just broke the news now. This is, this is cool. I, uh, for no reason, I don't know why, but instinctively I haven't wanted to tell anybody. Anybody. I'm sorry. Did I just fuck that up? I am a true Satanist. I gotta give you a fuck Jimmy cap shirt. So the world. I want one for real. The world or universal. Yeah. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. The world. Just so you know. It's not, you know, it's a good thing. If it would have been, if there was some, you know, evil plan behind this whole thing, I would have let you know, hey, during the interview, don't, you know, bring it up. Let's talk about this. But it came out the way I wanted it to. Hey. Naturally, you know, it's like, you know, I'll be direct. People deserve for me to be completely direct. I did not want people to start forming misconceptions. You know what I didn't want? To do the typical announcement. Typical is okay. But I was a little bit cautious about getting the reactions of, oh, here we go now. Now it's the video. Now, yeah. The big cabs is right behind the key bar. Fucking shit. All fucked up. Yeah. No, it's going to be very serious. See what happens when you drink, Castor? It's going to be. It's going to be right. It's going to be interesting. It's going to be very non-typical at all. Well, here's the deal. You know what? Let me just say this. And I say this in all sincerity because we keep it real on the show. Inquisition has displayed. And for those of you that have been listening, you've heard firsthand live. Not only the integrity factor, not only how creatively and how masterfully you master your craft, how honestly you are. Thank you. And true. This is what needs to be. This is what needs to be voiced the most. I thank you very much. Is that around the world, we are living in turmoil. Economically, in some cases, literally, unfortunately, under the savagery of tyranny. It is music what gets us through life. April 5th. For those of you there in Los Angeles, you blessed, miserable, inconsiderate motherfuckers. This is truly. A show that I believe is sold out. Boom. How the fuck am I going to get in? Okay. Boom. April 5th. The House of Blues. The Metal Alliance Tour. Behemoth. Goat Whore. 1349. Black Crown. Initiate. But this is truly the ceremony that you need to see live on stage. The Inquisition ceremony in full effect. Multi-dimensional. Absolutely. You need to experience this live because it goes hand in hand. And. And. With. Sonically. The Black Ceremony. Obscure verses.
