Man lives in the sunlit world of what he believes to be reality. But there is unseen by most an underworld. A place that is just as real but not as brightly lit. A dark side. The following day. Contains images of graphic violence. Viewer discretion is advised. One man's castle. One man's woman. One man's heaven. Is another man's reason. To raise hell. This is a Fox News alert. An active shooting scene in Texas. A shooting at the Fort Hood Army Base. And the Texas Department of Public Safety. Confirming to Fox News there are casualties. Police and the FBI are responding to the scene. And right now, Fort Hood telling everyone at the Army Base to shelter in place immediately. I'll kill everyone, you mother*******. And there are 16 injured being treated at Scott and White and here at Darnell. This is another sad day for Central Texas. They've had a variety of injuries that we've been treating, ranging from gunshot wounds that involved extremities, abdomen, chest, and neck. I never shot nobody. I didn't have to. I never shot anybody. That's what happened at Fort Hood five years ago. I've never killed anyone in my life. Sandman, terminate runners. I've never killed anyone in my life. AK-47, the very best day is when you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfucker in the room except no substitutes. Hello, I'm Johnny Cash. I hear the train a-comin' It's rollin' round the bend And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when I'm stuck in Folsom Prison And time keeps draggin' on And I ain't seen the sunshine since But that train keeps a-rollin' On down the San Antonio When I was just a baby My mama told me, son Always be a good boy Don't ever play with guns But I shot a man in Reno Just to watch him die When I hear that whistle blowin' I hang my head and cry! I bet there's rich folks eating from a fancy dining car They're probably drinking coffee and smoking big cigars Well, I know I had it coming I know I can't be free But those people keep a-moving And that's what tortures me guitar solo Well, if they freed me from this prison If that railroad train was mine I bet I'd move it on a little farther down the line Far from Folsom Prison That's where I want to stay guitar solo And I'd let that lonesome whistle Blow my blues away guitar solo Warning. The songs you are about to hear are intended for mature listening audiences only. If you have a weak mind or heart and don't like words like shit, fuck, or cunt then please refrain from listening any further. It's time for some real music. It's showtime! We have seen imitators! We've also seen duplicators! But now, it's time for the originators! Yeah! Los Angeles! You know what time it is. You're listening to the very manic and unfortunately, uh, no class Jimmy Cab show. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Hey, hey. I'll get into it later. Let's listen to the wise words of Lemmy. Shut up! You talk too loud! You don't fit in with the crowd! I can't believe you exist! Jimmy Cabs? I crossed you right off my list! Too much. Too soon. Johnny? You're way out of tune! We have no class! All right. Los Angeles and the rest of the world. Truer words have never been sung. Wow. First of all, I want to welcome you to the very manic and violent Jimmy Cab show. We opened the set there with a nice little violin block and we ended it with, uh, Johnny Castro. I like that scream where, uh, that fucking 1960... What is it, 68? 68. That 68 fucking convict where he goes, I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die. And you hear the guy go, Woo! You know that came from a real place. That's some dude from El Cerrito back in the 60s. All right. Fuck that puto. Let me welcome my, uh, very handsome and physically fit co-host, uh, Lost Johnny. Here's Johnny! Daddy! Hey now! Hey now. I also welcome that drunk fuck, illiterate dumb bastard I hang out with over there. Stop the door, Mike. How you doing? Stop the door, Mike. What's up, kid? Let me welcome the very lovely and beautiful, uh, hands-off Jenny and Mr. X. Thank you for being here. The power couple of Skid Row Studios. Ah! What a week, Lost Johnny. Yeah. There's been stuff going on. Uh... Yeah. I've kind of kept my head in a hole because... That's too much, dude. I'd rather drink and smoke. I gotta tell you, one of the things that was very interesting that happened this week, and I'm not referring to, uh, uh, nationwide news. I'm referring to me. I was very hostile this week. As opposed to the week before? No. As opposed to the last 30 years? Let me just very, uh, let me just, uh, go into detail. I was extremely hostile this week. Okay. And one of the things that I found, uh, as far as losing grip on sanity, is how easily you can become physically violent towards people. That is true. And as Johnny Cash, uh, sang his song at Folsom, which is, you know, the Folsom Blues, if you decide to become violent, you will eventually end up dead or in, you know, a prison institute, which, by the way, that's a big business here in the United States. Yes, it is. But, uh, I was referred to meditation. Are you... Now, you, Lost Johnny, you practice, like, martial arts. Physical fitness. Yeah. Cannabis. Yoga. I, I do... Do you meditate? Do you do Buddhist meditation? No, but I have a high respect for it. And, uh, as someone who has done the yoga thing, uh, for a while, it really does work. I mean, I don't, I don't, that's, that's totally worthy of respect. I'm trying all avenues to get a grip on what is going on with my, uh, mental breakdown that I'm having. Yeah. Uh, the drinking does not work anymore. No. Uh, the drugs, I, I can't partake in that. I don't want to end up, like, fucking Salvador and Mike over there. Very depressing. Um, the overeating, unfortunately, I can't do that anymore. The sex, I have no interest. Who, wait, who, who is this guy? Yeah. Is this the manic, manic show with Jimmy Cass or... This is the manic depressive show. Is this, is this, are we on the show with Ellen? What's going on here? What's going on here? This is the manic depressive show, man. I swear to God. And it's true. Is this Richard Lewis? What's going on here, dude? The drugs don't work. The drinking don't work. The overeating I can't do. I mean, you know, you sound like Tony Soprano. I mean, dude, I'm serious. Like, I, I, I've reached, let me just share with you this. This guy right here, who I bash all the time, and who I'm, I hang out socially, and I'm not very proud of that, because it just really shows you how fucking rock bottom I am. But, uh, you know, so... Salvador and Mike and I went to go see Neil Young. Can you cue that music for me, please? We went to go see Neil Young. A Canadian legend, by the way. Dude. One of the all-time greatest fucking songwriters ever. Okay. Now, this was a very intimate show. In other words... Wasn't it at the Dolby? It was at the Dolby. Very, very prestigious. Very... That's an immaculate theater. That's a swanky joint. Okay. Now, this was a, this was a very intimate show, an acoustic show. Ooh. Okay. And, dude, we were, what were, were we like, what, three rows from, like, the ceiling of that theater, right? Tickets for, like, a hundred, what'd you spend, like, a hundred bucks? This guy was gracious enough to get me a ticket for that, because obviously, you know, I don't have the pull for that. Right. I've been stressing out all week. I said, you know what, Neil Young, that's gonna be cool. That, that could be a form of meditation. I mean, this song in particular, very meditative. Yeah, right? You listen to this, right? Okay, so we go, and just picture me sitting there on ten, trying to watch a movie. Trying to watch a movie. Trying to watch a movie. Trying to watch a movie. And I'm lying down to the very, very caring, very, very articulate, very, very professional, very, just beautiful music of Neil Young. Soothing. Soothing. Relaxing. Right? And there's some asshole in front of me fucking babbling. That song! That song's fucking awesome! Oh, my God. Okay. I just want, before you, I hate that. I hate that shit with a passion. All right. Go ahead. Okay, so I'm sitting there, and this is what I'm feeling. Okay. Okay. I'm thinking. You're a worry me cocksucker. You know that? This is fucking Neil Young. I'm trying to relax. I'm posting on Facebook which my lawyer even reached out to me and said, what are you doing? Because if you do anything, this is going to be used against you. If you react, if you have any form of a fucking breakdown, keep your mouth shut but stop posting. Yeah. Hey, you want to go to Neil Young and relax, man? Yeah, I'd love to. And all of a sudden, I'm sitting there listening to this very beautiful song, right? Listen to that. I feel like I'm floating in lukewarm water. Love that song, man! Fuck you, dude! Blow, blow, blow! Blow, blow, blow, boy! Shut the fuck up! Shut up! Mike! What am I? You were there? Am I lying? No. Counselor, this is where I have to back you. You were completely in the right for one feeling this way and if you were to react like that to that guy, you totally deserve. Fuck him. What did I tell you, Mike? What did I tell you? Because the Dolby Theater, please keep this song going, by the way. I love this song. It's a nice counterbalance. What did I tell you, though? Do not get involved because there was an intermission, right? Even Neil Young said, listen, I'm already paid. He wasn't directing this to this individual because, like I said, we were like in the Raptors, bro. Right. But apparently in the front, somebody spent like $2,000 and they were fucking, you know, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. He said, hey, I already got paid. You bought tickets to attend, to see me perform and to hear me speak. If you don't want to hear me fucking perform, get the fuck out. But there's a lot of people here that do, right? Yeah. Dude, when the guy himself is saying that shit on stage, come on. All right. Hello. Hello. All right. Here's the deal. Mike, the intermission came in. What did I tell you? Do you remember? Because I know you're not really smart. No, I'm not smart. You remember me telling you, listen, at least he's honest. Yeah, he's honest about it. Do you remember me telling you, listen, I'm going to look for this fucking guy and if I do not get involved because that Dolby Theater security, they're way in contact with LAPD patrols that are outside. You know, it's on Hollywood Boulevard. Yeah. It's a high tourist, you know, area. So the fuzz will be there in two seconds. They'll detain me and the cops will be there within at the maximum five minutes. What did I tell you? I'm going to find this guy and I'm going to kill this guy. Did I tell you that? Am I lying? Am I lying? You're not lying. I was going to kill this fucking guy, dude. Okay? All comments expressed by Jimmy Cabs is that reflect any Skin Rose Studios management and or publishing or advertising. Do I have a beard? I have a beard. Yeah. Yeah. So this guy's blah, blah, blah, blah, talking about, oh yeah, that song's awesome. I like to get hot. And I'm sitting there and finally, when Neil Young made that comment to some other assholes, I said, why don't you shut the fuck up? And being that it's Los Angeles, super alpha male, bunch of idiots around fucking town here. I mean, I mean, they're, they're no shortage. They're coming in from all over, but we also breed them here. I said, you know what, Mike, stay away from me because if I see this guy either in the restroom or in line to get a beverage, I'm going off. I don't give a fuck. I got all the time in the world. I need to go to jail. I need to work out. I need to run in. I need to run into past friends. I need to find out what's up with, like, my mafia friends. You know what I mean? Hey, you know, reconnect. I need to be on a diet. You know, I need to lose some pounds. Like, I don't give a fuck about you. I got nothing but time on my fucking hands. Hey, they only get you at 1600 calories a day up in county. That's, that's a quick way to lose weight. That's no joke. Yeah. Luckily, this individual obviously picked up the tension in my voice. And for those of you that know me very well and who know that dark side, you know, I am not kidding. For those of you that think this is shtick, well, you know what? He'll run. And if I stay this tense, I'm sure you'll see this side. But, Counselor, you need, like, a serious fucking... I need to kill somebody. Well, that too. I mean... That's why I'm so fucking angry. Because I don't have any friends. I don't have any friends. Hey, you have Salvadori and Mike and on a bad day, Gonorrhea Tony. But, seriously. Gonorrhea Tony thinks I'm a fucking loser, man. He actually, can you believe that? Can you believe Gonorrhea Tony told me I'm a loser? Wow. That is... Whoa. Okay. Well, anyways, as I... No, seriously, you need to do some heavy duty fucking downshifting. Like, do the yoga, smoke tons of weed, do some fucking meditation, do the acupuncture. I mean, you got to turn everything that is meditative up on 10. You have to be so fucking hard and you're downshifting. Like, you might as well... You have to turn into a slug, basically. Well, you know what? That's funny. Turn your shit down. That's funny you say that because, you know what? I agree with you. Not only in a couple of weeks am I going to, turn 44. Yikes. But, I like how no one clapped. We're glad you made it this far. On April... Jenny, clap. On April 20th... Sympathy clap. This goes to my Skid Row family here. On April 20th, we are all having the marijuana show. Yeah! Fuck yeah! Hands up, Jenny. Are you looking excited to get stoned and eating some pizza? Woo! All right, look at Mr. Ice. He's happy. All right? We're going to go in the lobby. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! We're getting stoned on 420, baby! Yeah, see, you know, that guy that was in the Johnny Cash song for, you know, killing that guy? Woo! Woo! That's how I am about weed. Boom! Learn that shit! All right, apparently there was somebody at Fort Hood that did, uh, did not take your advice. Hands up, Jenny. Play that soundbite, please. All of these patients are in our ICU or will be there very shortly. All of these patients are in our ICU. All of these patients are in our ICU. All of these patients are in our ICU. All of these patients are in critical condition and the remaining are all seriously injured. First responders streamed toward Fort Hood where for the second time in less than five years an Army soldier had gone on a shooting spree. The military has identified him as Specialist Yvonne Lopez. It is believed that he walked into one of the unit buildings, opened fire, got into a vehicle, fired from a vehicle, got out of the vehicle, walked into another building and opened fire again and then was engaged by the military. The shooting is a chilling reminder of those that happened at Fort Hood in November 2009 when Army psychiatrist Major Nadal Hassan shot and killed 13 people and injured 32 others. It's really unreal. Really unreal. Because in 2009 I was here and this thing happened again. And it's unbelievable. But unlike Hassan, a military court will never get a chance to tell you to try Lopez. The shooter is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Go ahead and kill me, you cocksucker! I can't believe that. You know, I... I laugh at that sound bite, not what happened. So make that clear. The fact that this happened twice at the same fucking base, base camp, is just... I mean, within a matter of what? Like a couple years? Two. I mean, why aren't these people fucking walking around armed? I mean, I honestly, seriously... I mean, to be fair, Counselor, it's an army base. Yeah, but I mean, you know what? Here's the deal. I was talking to... I was talking to something on Mike about this and it's so fucking... How desperate am I am for an intelligent company? You know, we're dealing with a very strenuous situation with these military incoming people that are coming, these veterans that are coming back. Yeah. Okay, they've been dealing in these hostile regions of the world with these fucking animals. Yeah, I said it. I don't give a fuck. Send the general manager a fucking complaint. These animals out in fucking the Middle East and Afghanistan and all this shit. I mean, we're dealing with like stressed out, you know, post-traumatic stress disorder individuals and the military is still way behind the times. If you go and you say that you have post-traumatic stress disorder, you're looked at like a pussy. Yeah. Not only that, you know, it's one of those things where like they say on paper that they want you to admit, but it's... No. No. The culture does not allow that. It doesn't allow it, man. It's the same thing as like being gay. You know, you know, you got to suppress it. You got to keep quiet. And so they're coming back to society dealing with all this shit. And what happened was is this fucking individual, this poor guy... Flipped out. Before he's... You know, I mean, listen, it's tragic that he took the lives of innocent people and shot people, but that could have been me on Wednesday at fucking Neil Young, man. I was ready to kick that guy's head in, you know? And we're dealing with a society where we have all these outside pressures with our military staff that they're coming back to our society and they can't deal with what's happening here with the loss of jobs, they're losing their homes, their fucking wives, their whores. If they can find a job. You know, I mean, dude, you're coming back and your house is gone, your fucking wife's filing for divorce, she's fucking your friend, you got all these... Kids don't like you. All these bills. Yeah. You know, you go to Neil Young to fucking smoke a joint and watch the show with some assholes. I mean, dude, come on. I mean, it all comes back to you with, I mean, regards to the veterans. All this is coming to a head. What happened with the wars that went in Iraq and Afghanistan. All that shit that happened 10 years ago is coming full circle now. All of this is basically the continuation of the casualties of war. It is not gonna stop. It's only gonna get worse. That's the sad part. This is only the beginning. That sucks, man. This is only the beginning. Let me just say this to these individuals that are self-centered, narcissistic. We know a lot of people especially here in this station. These narcissistic fucking self-absorbed fucking individuals, especially the ones. Mike, didn't we just see some guy with his dog and the dog was shitting on the street? Oh, God. Yeah, whatever. Whatever. All right. Let me just say this. And then he's stepping it. Watch yourselves. And this is not a threat. This is just a warning. Watch what you do. You know, I live in a neighborhood that has raised me, that I brought up with a mental conscience of not to bother anybody, respect everybody, you and I both, buddy. Keep my eyes to the fucking ground. You and I both. Okay, listen. Watch what you do. Watch what you say. Try not to bother anybody because we're living in a very, very, very powdered keg society. Absolutely. And people are ready to fucking bust. Motherfuckers are tense. Yeah. They're tense. They're very tense. With that, we got some very great guests today. Hey. And we played some music too. Let me break it down very quickly. Yeah, why don't you tell us what we played there? As we talked about earlier, we ended this set with the legendary Man in Black, the original Man in Black, Johnny Cash, Folsom Prison. Woo! Woo! Got a man in El Cerrito. As taken from the legendary At Folsom Prison live record. I mean, Jesus Christ, this is about as American as American can be. That is as heavy as you can get. That's heavy shit, man. Before that, we heard Boston's own SSD, Nice Choice Counselor, Teach Me Violence from their classic first album, The Kids Will Have Their Say, Before that, we heard Infest, True Violence from their record, No Man's Slave. Before that, we heard Spaz. Fuck yeah, man. I'm gonna try not to fuck it up. Revancha. Did I get that one right? You got that right. All right, thank you. Before that, we heard Fear and Flower Power Violence. The name of the song called, oh, the band's called Raid and Hate. The name of the song is called Fear and Flower Power Violence. Before that, we heard, I'm gonna have to take a breath on this one, Opposition to All Violence If Committed in Self-Defense, NEOs, the name of that band, from the record, Hasiba Gets the Martian Brain Squeeze. Whoa. That is a lot to absorb for a fucking band in a song. They're pissed, too. Yeah, they're fucking pissed. And they have a thesaurus. Before that, we heard Exciter, Violence and Force from the record of the same name. Before that, we heard Midnight. Yeah. Actually, we had a double dose of Exciter, Oblivion. And before that, we heard Midnight, who are, by the way, are playing the Scion Fest that we're all attending. Very excited for that. The name of that song is Violence on Violence from the record, Satanic Royalty. It took me a couple spins to dig on that record, but now I am a fan. We started this set properly with the one, the only, we all know and love him, El Diablo Negro, Hyrax. Violence of Action from their latest record, Immortal Legacy. Love that guy, but he's getting on my last nerve. All right, we got a great show for you today. I have Alex Camargo of Criscian. We did a great interview with him last week. That guy is really great. Criscian, they're three brothers that have been dominating the underground for decades from Brazil, Brazil. If you don't know who they are, I strongly recommend you pick up their records. Then we got a nice little interview with Tony Forresta of Iron Reagan, which you probably know from Municipal Waste. They're coming into town next week. The poor kids are bringing them to town at Sunset Strip, as a matter of fact. At the Roxy. At the Roxy. And then we're going to be speaking with the one, the only, the, what I would say, godfather of double bass drumming, Dave Lombardo. No fucking introduction. I got to say, those two words. I know. Do I really need to? Dave Lombardo. We all know it. All right. Before we start the set, this morning, I got the tragic news. Again, like if last week, it wasn't fucking tragic enough. Gates, a slumber bass player, Jason McCash, passed away. What? You didn't know about that? I did not know about that. Yeah. He passed away last night or apparently within the last 24 hours. So, Oh, man. I knew that. That's terrible. Yeah. We want to extend our condolences to the family and to, even though Gates, a slumber had disbanded, we want to send out our condolences to the rest of the guys. Those guys are great guys. Hands off, Jenny. Let's start off with some Gates, a slumber. Hit it.! Bastards will pay The four horsemen rise Screaming for vengeance Run for your lives Over the mountain Over the mountain Into the void Gods of wrath howling Built to destroy Destroy Learning to die Dead by the sword Flash of the blade The onslaught of the horde Gods of wrath howling For power and might Demon king running On through the night The night guitar solo Rise meal guitar solo guitar solo guitar solo You are about to enter another dimension. A dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination. guitar solo Got to hurry. Got to hurry. guitar solo I don't believe you worry. guitar solo Take it back, take it back. guitar solo You know you can't relax. Don't want no sleep. Just hide and seek. Cause I'm a speed freak. Baby, I'm a speed freak. guitar solo Way too fast. Way too fast. Gonna be the first and last. Shoot you down, shoot you down. Wait till you hit the ground. Not for a week. I don't want to go to sleep. Cause I'm a speed freak. Baby, I'm a speed freak. guitar solo guitar solo I don't believe you worry. I don't believe you worry. I don't believe you worry. I don't believe you worry. Let's go, let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Let's go Maybe next week Next month You'll never know Think about it We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. No, no dick Some loudmouth rambling Some other poser talking shit Speaking of talking shit Last night, I was VIP and miserable At the Metal Alliance show But one of the things that really cheered me up Was I was speaking to One of our dear friends From Iconophobos, Alvin Oh yes, yes I was having this really nice conversation with him Which is very rare because How agitated was I last night? Very agitated I was fucking pissed, right? VIP and miserable And I mean we slammed like what? Like eight fucking modelos Between both of us before we got there? You know, quickly I just noticed to my right Mike just He's always a step behind when he answers you He's like Ed McMahon Yes Yes! I like to refer to him as my rain man actually Except he can't count But what was funny was last night I'm having this conversation And some young lady comes up First of all The black metal scene has not only evolved But my god How many hot black metal bitches were there last night? Too many to count Right? Speak into the mic, son Too many to count Spanish or English, it's all good I mean, dude, it was a fucking Like so many hot chicks I love it And I'm I don't Because I got to go home and masturbate It's ridiculous Well, you know But this very young, lovely, sweet, attractive black metal girl comes up to me With a mayhem shirt on Actually it was Inquisition No, sorry She comes up, she goes Oh, you interviewed Dagon from Inquisition on your show last week? And I'm all Yeah? She goes I did some art for him She literally like made some art, right? Right And I thought, oh, that's I looked at her I said, oh, that's so sweet Unfortunately, he's looking for someone to suck his dick right now Yeah But I'll let him know I'll pass the message I'll pass the message I want to thank Dagon and Alfonso Pinos I hope I pronounced that correctly Dia de los Muertos for hooking that up It was a sold out show I should have been ecstatic What was I doing? Drinking fucking coffee in the VIP room, fucking pissed I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm fucking pissed Yep Why were you pissed? I don't know why I'm angry Because I have a blood thirst I don't know I mean, usually there is a basis to the anger When you had a legitimate reason at the Neil Young concert I totally understand that Right You were backstage at a sold out show Sold out Sold out show To see four or five awesome bands And you're pissed Angry Irate Raged Enraged Parking Parking watered down beer, Salvadori and Mike, come on, man, let's get to the bottom of this. That's American version. I need, I need, for any of you out there that are involved in psychoanalysis, I seriously need like a therapy session where I could sit down and just, I don't know why I was pissed. I was just fucking just mad. Dude, you're totally, Tony Soprano, you need some serious therapy, man. I need marijuana. I need vape, I need the vapor pins so I could puff like we did a couple weeks ago. That's what I need. I need to get stoned. No, no. You need to get some herbal fucking sedatives. 420 will be the marijuana show here and that's where hopefully with meditation I will be somewhat today. But no, I'm serious. There's no such thing as an angry stoner. You know what? So that's why I'm so fucking angry because I don't have any friends. I don't. I was very angry. All right, speaking of angry, I spoke with Alex Camargo of Christiane last week. They put me they're on tour right now with Destruction. For those of you that are outside of Los Angeles, they're on tour with Destruction. So make sure you look at their tour dates and if it's that tour is coming to a city near you, make sure you go check out Christiane. I could give a fuck about Destruction and Shmier and his crybaby bullshit. Make sure you go see Christiane. That is a really hardworking three piece, which they really do in my opinion embody what it's all about, man. They're really hardworking. They're really genuine. They're really nice guys. They're sincere. But when they get on stage, they are fucking deadly. So why don't we listen to some Christiane and then we'll listen to an interview I conducted with Alex Camargo. And then later on, we're going to be giving away a pair of tickets for the oh, this is the poor kids invading. They're back invading the Sunset Strip. They're not only invading, they're going to destroy. This is a great show. Lost Johnny, are you aware of this fucking fantastic show? Yes, I am. Let me just mention this for those of you that are not. This is the Weapons of Mosh Destruction. Mosh. Mosh. Weapons of Mosh Destruction. This is with Ghoul, Iron Reagan, our dear good friends, Occultus. For those of you that are unfamiliar with Occultus, if you listen to this show, get on the fucking train pronto. Don't piss me off. A fantastic man that you need to check out and also our local good friends, Witch Haven. This is happening at the Roxy. This is next Sunday. Make sure you... Dude, that place is going to go off. Dude, between all the rock stars at the fucking... at the... Rainbow. The Rainbow and then this whole invasion? Oh. Awesome. It's going to be sick. It's going to be great. Mike, didn't you see the Bullet Boys that are playing next door? Jesus Christ. Don't piss me off, man. Are you fucking kidding me? Are you serious? I think so. I can't even... I don't even know the name of their song. I'm going to jail. All right. We're going to be giving away a pair of tickets for the Poor Kids Weapons of Mass Destruction. But let's listen to this Chris Sealon tune and we'll have a good interview with Alex Camargo. Hands off, Jenny. Hit it.! I'm on the rise of the sun, for I fear no one Rolling on the open sky, I'm just flying above my path Land of lions, worship to my face, coming in corners of my heart Land of lions, worship to my face, in death or victory, as a man in integrity Land of lions, worship to my face, in death or victory, as a man in integrity Land of lions Here we come, and it's been a world without sound Running fast in the ways of an award In my world, only evil for advice Ways of chaos to purify Procreated on a killing ground And in my large, jeopardizing blood My fatherhood, I defend and fight for I've raised no law My destination is eternal Eternal law Eternal law Eternal law Eternal law Eternal law Eternal law Eternal law Eternal law Eternal law Eternal law Eternal law Eternal law! Eternal law!! guitar solo guitar solo Land of lions Land of lions Ruled by the fates of vindication Collector of this assassination In a portal to the punishment To the failure we've left The breed of a foe, the devouring spice Born to be cruel, not God Your sin and your life My existence remains undefined Guitar solo Guitar solo Guitar solo Guitar solo Guitar solo Guitar solo Guitar solo Guitar solo Guitar solo Guitar solo Guitar solo brew as well, but not that we're just talking about, like, you know, man, gore shit or evil shit. It's all good, you know what I mean? Realistic. Yeah, we got to be realistic at some point, you know what I mean? And definitely it's a great subject, you know what I mean? Like the whole new thing, you know what I mean? The uprising, the opposition, you know what I mean? It fits with the music and the way you sing things. We're like grown-up men, you know what I mean? And when we first started playing, we just wanted, you know what I mean? Like sound as evil and brutal as possible. We're still doing it, but, like, after all these years, we got to, you know what I mean, find out, like, different ways to keep doing it, even though we still attach it to our roots, you know what I mean? But there's a point that you've got to be more realistic, you know what I mean? And it's definitely like this whole thing, not just in Brazil, you know what I mean? Venezuela? Yeah, South American countries. Over Russia and even here, you know what I mean? People always got a voice, you know what I mean? And if it's time to protest, you've got to go and fucking do it, you know what I mean? And it's definitely a very nice subject, and I'm definitely going to go talk about it, man. Being that it has been over 20 years since Christian has been together, and you've had matured, do you find yourself coming into barriers where, as an artist and as the fact that you've been growing throughout all this time, do you find yourself barriers where you maybe felt uncomfortable in the past to cross, but now that you're older and wiser, are willing to cross? Yeah, man, sometimes. Sometimes. Sometimes, you know, the kind of music we play, it's, you know, it's not as easy, you know what I mean? Like, it's not as popular as, like, melodic heavy metal, or the new wave of thrash metal, you know what I mean? It's all labels after all, but the way the band's played, you know what I mean? We're like, we're just three guys, you know what I mean? Trying to step up and play what we like, what we believe. So it's definitely, sometimes there is barriers, you know what I mean? And, like, sometimes there's a lot of overrated shit out there, you know what I mean? Like, this is a flavor of the month band. You know what I mean? Like, with the visual aspect, like, sometimes counting more than the music itself, you know what I mean? But so far, so good, man. We're still here. We're still having a good time. It's, we've been doing it, and we're still, like, somehow we're here, you know what I mean? Like, we found out a way to keep doing it and looking for better opportunities and stuff. Yeah. I mean, it's a struggle. The struggle is part of its business, you know what I mean? And it is what it is, you know what I mean? But sometimes, definitely, there's, like, doors slamming in your face, you know what I mean? And we go look for some other interns, you know what I mean? Like, just try to keep rolling, you know what I mean? But it's definitely tough business, man, especially for South America. We're a three-piece band playing death metal, you know what I mean? It's, people don't really, you know what I mean? Especially, like, the... The big media and shit, you know what I mean? They don't have much eyes for it, you know what I mean? But we're here to piss them off, you know what I mean? We do what we do, and we believe in what we do. We're gonna keep doing it. As long as we're motivated, we're gonna keep doing it. One of the things that I've always admired about Christian is the integrity. Not only musically, but amongst your bandmates. There's this very strong union that seems unbreakable. With many bands, especially bands that have been together over an abundance, over time, there seems to be egos, there seems to be rifts, there seems to be creative differences. I know. Especially in this scene. In the United States, the American death metal scene has become mundane. It's become somewhat repetitive, not really as dangerous or creatively expanding as it once was. It's bands like yourself that not only have lasted the test of time, but have also established accreditation. It's a belly factor. Cool, man. Thanks for noticing. How have you done that, though? Because it is the three of you. Yeah, man. Like I say, it's all about the way you get along with your bandmates. We've been together since we were born. I think this is a plus. After all, it's all about the music. You've got to do good music, no matter if for brothers or for good friends. But definitely, being brothers, it helped. It helped a lot. It helped a lot through the years. Like you were saying, that ego shit. The way people are doing their things. Sometimes they've got albums done, and the band is not even jamming together. With all this technology, somebody's going to get their parts done somewhere, and then some of the other bandmates are going to get it done somewhere else. We still like... We're having the passion to jam. We love jamming. We got together and still having a good time. We jam chorus songs, old rock and roll songs, just for the fun. We're still working out. Like I say, it is an advantage having our brothers as bandmates. But after all, it's all about the music. We don't go around saying, we're three brothers, we're a three-piece band. It's such an awesome thing. It helps, but we keep it down. We think about the music. I've got along with my bros. We have been educated to respect each other and be there for each other. And it's like the music itself helps. You know what I mean? To keep... To keep it tight. To keep it as a union. Like I said, we still love what we do. Somehow, like you were saying, the bands, the lineups, it's always a problem to keep the same lineup and to keep the same guys. It's always the ego shit. We're good with that. It's all about the music. We're committed to each other in the band. We're like, I respect what they do and they respect what I'm doing. So when we're jamming, we're like building up songs. We got differences, you know what I mean? But after all, it's all about the music and the union, you know what I mean? That's really interesting. Does that sense of mutual respect and trust and the bonding come from your childhood and your parenting? Definitely, definitely, definitely. Like since the high school days, you know what I mean? I remember when my boys were getting in trouble and we would stick it up to each other. You know what I mean? We would step up for each other. Like if we mess with my bro, we mess with me, you know what I mean? It's always been like that. Like since the early days, sometimes I got to, you know, the phone was ringing in my house. It was like our teachers were calling me like, oh, your bro is in trouble here. You better come and get him. And it's been like that, you know what I mean? Every time my bros were in trouble and vice versa, you know, we're there for each other. And it, you know, it developed as, you know, as men, you know what I mean? Like the music itself and it's just, I know it's kind of a cliche like saying, oh, we're fucking, you know what I mean? We take care of business and all this shit. But we definitely do, man. We love what we do. I love my brothers. And, you know what I mean? As long as we're passionate about it, we're going to keep doing it. All right. Thank you. Thank you. All right. They are literally a family. You know, the Christian brothers are tight as fuck, man. And as you heard on that interview, they are family. All my brothers in bed are with me. They're on tour right now with Destruction. If they are coming to a town near you, make sure you get your ass fucking out there. All right. Let's listen to some more Christian while I indulge in marijuana. Yeah. I'm bringing home some home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home home In the pit of the waves Cuties, as your frustration Proclaiming defenders Of hell of broken beliefs Like an open-hearted scar That burns and never ceases to bleed The sin is so called sin, your The best of lies Everlasting, universal lies The powers of broken grace In the fields of decay Deception and sorrow The proselytizing Vanity of hypocrisy The rest is a shame In the world of misery By the daydream Rolling free As many take rendition To the centuries of perversion The past of religion The past of intuition Broken processes The secrets of regression The fundamental fate of mankind Is the law of failure and decline The fundamental fate of conformity To sell all their children To slavery To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty To royalty Blood and scar, spilling black blood, eternity The fundamental pain of mankind Fallen to decay, to everyone goes blind The fundamental pain of humanity Everlasting cancer of slavery! The Christian sound not only has lasted throughout the decades, but it still retains a very distinctive sound where much, many bands, they tend to lose the foundation of what brought that fan base. That's not the case with your band. Your band is able not only to have been able to withstand that and keep it real. How do you do that? And where are you going from this day forward? Well, like, for the next thing, we're already thinking about it. We want to just keep moving forward. We're going to step up and we're not running away from a death matter world or anything. But we got to definitely look for something else. Try to make it a new world. And fresher, you know what I mean? But we're not saying, like you were saying, like some bands, sometimes after a few years, they even feel ashamed or consider themselves like metal bands or death metal bands. We got no problem about being called a death metal band or a brutal band. This is what we do. We're going to keep doing it. We love what we do. But definitely, we don't want to repeat ourselves. You know what I mean? Well, somehow, we got to, you know, find out. Well, I don't know. Find out, like, different things, you know what I mean? We've been doing that acoustic guitar thing, you know what I mean? I know it's nothing new about it, but the way we got things, you know what I mean, built up, you know what I mean? Like, it's something new. But, yeah, man, it's just a matter of enjoying what we do, you know what I mean? But we're definitely, you know, going to step up and try to keep shit rolling. And bringing home some of that royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty royalty after this tour, we're going back home and then go for it. You know, I mean, we got a few ideas, a few riffs, a few things, you know what I mean? But nothing like, nothing solid yet, you know what I mean? We got to stop. You guys take your time, huh? Yeah, yeah, we got to take our time. And, like, after this tour, we're not doing any more of these long tours. Like, for the next few months, you know what I mean? We got to stay home and work hard on the songs. And it's also a nice process. We like that. We like driving up to the rehearsal room and build it up, you know what I mean? Like I was saying, like jamming, we're looking forward to the new stuff. You know how rare that is, though? It's very rare. Most artists, they feel pressured when they have to. Right, right. Be creative because the record companies are. Yeah, definitely, yeah. It seems that with you guys, not only is it still enjoyable and you enjoy yourselves, but it's a process that comes organically. You got to, man, definitely. Everything has got to be organic. It's like even the touch, the human feelings, you know what I mean? Like I was saying, some days they got an album recorded and the bandmates are not even talking to each other. Everybody's doing the share and sending it over to a computer file. No, they don't know where to see each other. Yeah. Here's my wrist. Leave me alone. Yeah, that's right. And there's a natural process for us. We like jamming. We were like, oh, all right, boys, it's time to fucking build it up, some new shit. And we go to the practicing room and we're having a good time and barbecuing and having a little beer and jamming and like recording the rehearsals and looking, like finding out what's going to work or not. Definitely it's like old school style, you know, like it used to be. And we're still digging it like that way, you know what I mean? It's always, you know what I mean, a challenge, you know what I mean? If you don't go that way, it's never a challenge, you know what I mean? It's never a struggle. You've got to love the challenge, you know what I mean? Like get it done like the right way, you know what I mean? And jamming like a band, not just like anything plastic or mechanic, you know what I mean? You see, many of these bands, you can tell the sound. Like just, you know what I mean? Like something plastic, you know what I mean? Mechanical. Yeah, mechanical. We've got to jam, you know what I mean? Does it make you feel proud that now you are recognized not only in your country, but you are also appreciated and you are also as inspirational as Sepultura? Definitely, man. We're definitely proud. And by the way, I don't mean to use that, I don't know if you feel comfortable with that comparison. No, definitely it feels good. I mean, Sepultura is the shit. They used to. They used to be like the shit. Actually, they were our biggest influence. Like, you know, not just the music or respect, you know what I mean? The way they move up and they get things done. If you talk like Sepultura, like back in the early 90s or something, they were just as big as Slayer or Metallica. They were fucking growing and everything was like, and definitely it was, you know what I mean, a great influence. Yeah, definitely. They broke the barriers for every South American band. It made us believe that we can do it as well. But of course, the way they did it, the recognition they had, it's like I don't think any band from South America will reach that point, but it's not, you know, I mean, not just about recognition. It's about getting things done. And definitely. We're proud about everything we've done. Like, we're here and we're getting the chance to play, like, festivals over Europe and Brazil. Like I say, Rock in Rio. You yourself are being an inspiration to the young kids. Definitely, definitely. I know these kids out there are digging our shit. And the same way you're motivated, Dan, they motivate us, you know what I mean? It's the kids with the crazy tattoos and shit. Sometimes. You can feel embarrassed about it. But it is a great motivation, man. Definitely. It's been like, you know what I mean, ups and downs, you know. It is like stick around doing, like, playing metal. Like we say sometimes, people don't give a shit, but we keep doing it, you know what I mean? And definitely, we're definitely proud about things we've done. You know, we fuck up here and there, you know. Nobody's perfect, you know what I mean? A couple of mistakes along the road. But we were here together. We stick it up to each other. And having a good time and still digging what we're doing. Like I was saying, we're proud about things that we had accomplished for sure. Right on, man. I want to thank you for taking the time to talk to me. Thank you, Jimmy. Thanks for reaching out, man. This thing right here, it's also very important for the whole thing, you know. Like I was saying, some of the big magazines and shit, they don't really got eyes. For this type of thing, you know what I mean? But I appreciate you guys reaching out and helping us out. Thank you, man. Much appreciated. Thank you, man. All right, man. That was Alex Camargo of Cristian from Brazil. I want to thank him for taking the time to speak with me. And as always, always a gentleman and always real and always honest. I like how when I was doing this interview last time, you know, he invited us on to the Destruction Cristian bus. And he was very, as a caballero, hey, would you like something to drink? Like a beer or whatever? I'll just have a water or soda. Fucking Mike. I have a Corona. And as you can hear in the background there, you'll hear Mike belching and, you know, opening up the beer. So thank you so much, Mike, for always being the professional. Fucking Salad Orange. All right. We're going to be giving away a pair of Poor Kids and Golden Boys tickets for Weapons of Mosh Destruction. This is Sunday. April 13th. Next Sunday, by the way. Ghoul, Iron Reagan, Occultist, Witch Haven. Boom. Listen to this bill and listen to the credibility and the weight of each band. Ghoul, Iron Reagan, Occultist. Good friends of the show. And also Witch Haven. This is happening at the Roxy. You want a free pair of tickets. Here, let me give you this. You want a free pair of tickets. To see this real deal show brought to you by the Poor Kids. And this isn't us just talking because we're stoned. This is real shit, man. Oh, we're getting stoned every Sunday now. I feel fantastic. This is a new thing. It's like Sons of Anarchy, you know. You got to, you know, we got to all vote on this. Do we agree to get stoned? Exactly. Yes. Yes. Yes. All right. Send me a message. Inbox me a message on Facebook saying marijuana is great. You get a pair of tickets courtesy of the Poor Kids. To witness Ghoul, Iron Reagan, Occultist, and Witch Haven. Each and every one of these bands are amazing. All right. I believe I have an interview coming up next with Tony Forrest of Iron Reagan, who's on tour right now. For those of you that recognize that name, it's municipal waste as well. These kids love these bands, man. They love them. This is like the, I would say, the second generation of D.R.R. Like when we were kids. Yep. Dude, it's like ants on a picnic. Yeah, crazy. You can't fling these kids off the stage fast enough. They love stage dance. I'm sure their parents don't, but they love stage diving to Iron Reagan. All right. Hands up, Jenny. Play whatever we have legs. All right. This is Jimmy Cab's tape to broadcast. I have Tony Forrest of Iron Reagan. You are on the Weapons of Mosh Destruction Tour. How's it going? I'm doing really good. Yeah. We are actually starting out the tour. We're heading to Arizona. I think Thursday we'll be in Tampa. We're going to start the Weapons of Mosh Destruction Tour. Right now, we're driving. We're heading out there. We're playing shows to get there. But, yeah, we're playing Nashville. We're going to go to Flashville. It should be good. And Dallas tomorrow. Wow. You know what, man? You guys have some great dates coming up here. Next week, you're going to be playing the poor kids at the Roxy. This is going to be with Ghoul, Occultist, and Witch Haven. Yeah. Yeah. How do you feel about playing Hollywood, man? I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. This will be Iron Reagan's third show in Hollywood, but I haven't played there. I've played there probably like eight times. It's never disappointed. It's always a good time. The poor kids are eating it, guys. They know how to throw on a show, so I know it'll be a good one. Yeah. You know, let me ask you this. What is the difference between this band, Iron Reagan, and Municipal Waste? Um... Well, they were members, and I would say more darker, a lot faster, and heavier. But it still has a thrash edge to it. Yeah, because I was going to say, you know, when I first heard that you were doing this band Iron Reagan, I didn't know what to conceive of it. But when I listened to it, it seems to have the same elements that the youth are so attracted to you about, which is the whole aggression and the whole speed, man. Yeah, you know, I mean, I'm 37 years old. I'm still trying to do that sort of stuff, too. I guess not a lot of people my age are. But, yeah, I guess that's what the kids are listening to these days. I like to piss off and short and, you know, and fun. Does it bother you that, like, my generation compares your band and Municipal Waste to, like, the D.R.I. influence? Oh, it's fine. I love those guys. Yeah, those guys are great. I love D.R.I. I love all that old shit, you know? If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be here, you know? I don't know where they're at. Do you trip out on how fanatical the kids in Los Angeles are? Or do you see that throughout the whole United States? Because, I mean, Jesus, dude, it's like ants on a picnic when you play. I feel like, yeah, I mean, for, like, the stuff we've been doing, it's really taken off. And I'm like, oh, that people are into it. Like, it's really cool. It's, yeah, it's kind of picked up like that all over the place. L.A. definitely has a more passionate scene, though. Kids there love their metal. And it's fucking great. It's always a good time. Are you ever horrified when you see how much air some of these kids get and then the legalities that come with that? I don't really care about the legalities. Are you going to sue me? I'm broke. I'm broke. You can't squeeze blood from a rock, man. I do hope people kind of, you know, watch out for each other, you know, because we're not all trying to kill each other, you know. But it's fine. I've seen some really crazy stunts at Iron Regan shows. People get fucking rowdy. Last night got pretty rowdy, too. So, you know, last year we started a tour, and, you know, we're heading out there. And, yeah, I think it's just going to escalate once we hit the West Coast. team up with Gould. Yeah, man. How do you feel about playing with Gould? Because they're on a whole other level themselves, man. These guys are like family to me, man. This is kind of, we're actually just talking about it because this guy flew out, flew out to Richmond a couple days ago for Dave Brockie's funeral. And we were all there and we were kind of talking about how this is therapy for all of us. It's like us and a cultist are from Richmond. And I've toured McGuire about five times. And I'm very close to them. And so is Gould. You know, Gould did a couple months with them the last year. And we're all just this weird family. Like, me and Salacing Gould have toured. And I've been friends with some of those guys since I've been playing music. So it's this weird family. And everybody's kind of having a rough time right now. And this is, you know, getting out on the road and, you know, fucking shit up and having a good time with your friends. It's very. It's very beautiful. And it's good. We're really, really glad to get out of town. And, you know, like, push our message of having a good time out to everybody. Yeah, you know, that death was not only really tragic, but it really hits home how literally time is short and we just got to really just make the best of it while we're here, man. Absolutely. Yeah, so. Yeah, let's talk about April 13th. You're going to be playing, as I mentioned, the Weapons of Mosh Destruction. That's the game. That's the game. That's going to be with Ghoul, Iron Reagan, and Occultist. Occultist is a sick fucking band, man. This whole bill is just incredible. But before that, you're going to be playing April 11th in Santa Ana at the Galaxy. And then prior to that or after that, you're going to be playing the Tank Crimes Brain Squeeze. How do you feel about being in that festival in Oakland, man? Oh, that's great. We're all double duty in that show. Everybody's bands are playing, like, a couple shows. Like, I got to do Iron Reagan's show. And then. And, you know, I mean, that's the waste cake the next day. Cannabis Corpse is playing. That's Phil's other band. So we're going to be working pretty hard. We've got Ghouls playing two shows that weekend. And I know Occultist is playing somewhere. So, yeah, it's going to be a cost for fuck in the best way possible. You know, it's going to be a really busy weekend for me. I'm, like, working double time that one. Yeah, man. I mean, fucking A, man. I don't know how you keep the adrenaline going on that. How do you do that, man? I just flutter, you know. When you do it, you're not that cheesy, you know? Yeah, I guess. It's all about having. This is the fake world. I don't know. I don't know what the real world's like. All right, man. Well, listen, right now you have an EP called Spoiled Identity. That's on Tank Crimes. And then you did that split with Exhumed. Do you have anything else that's going to be coming out this year? Uh, we're going to be doing. We actually put our finishing touches on our new album. So when we play it, we'll be in the studio finishing the last of the record, which is crazy. So, yeah, we have a new LP coming out by the end of the year, which is one of the best things I think I've ever done. I'm really fucking proud of it. Wow. Is there anything you could reveal? I'm not. It's still, you know, we're still testing it yet. I don't know what you mean. I'm not. Do you know? Right. Right. So I don't really like, you know, what's staying and what's going, you know. But, yeah, we have a record coming out. It's very fucking awesome. I'm really proud of it. Will you be playing any of those songs live? Um, we might play one or two. We've been busting some out. Depends on what stuff's like. We're going to have a bunch of songs that we just throw in and have them set. We might play a show. We might play some. It depends on how we're feeling and what it is, you know. Right on, man. Well, listen, I'm really looking forward to seeing you play here in Hollywood on the 13th. As I mentioned before, this is the Weapons of Moss Destruction. This is going to be with Ghoul, Occultist, and our local band called Witch Haven here. I'm going to be giving away a pair of tickets for this, man. So this is going to be a sick shit on the Sunset Strip. Talk about destroying the Sunset Strip. Hell yeah, man. I want to. Can't wait. I want to thank you, Tony, for taking the time to talk to me, bro. Thank you very much, man. I really appreciate the support. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the show. Cheers, brother. Cheers, brother. Cheers, brother. Your command will take you away We bring on the sealer of souls Your command will take you away Why? How you doing there, Dave? Hey, I'm doing pretty good. How you doing? Good, man. You know what? Thank you for being on the Very Manic Jimmy Cab Show. I want to first welcome you. You know what? I gotta just say, first of all, before we even begin this, you are indeed a very classy and true gentleman, sir. I just wanted to say... I just wanted to tell you that. Well, I try to conduct myself as best as I can, but, you know... Well, thank you. Thanks for noticing. Yeah, man. You know what? I'm not gonna get into the whole Slayer thing, but what I really want to commend you for is that you're playing April 11th. This is interesting. This is the Rockers against human trafficking. This is interesting, Dave. Why are you a part of this, and what made you feel that you had to be... assist your talents to this event here? Well, I've heard of human trafficking, you know, probably... I heard about it about 12 years ago. Actually, Grip Incorporated did a song called Skin Trade, and it was about human trafficking and what was going on in Eastern Europe. And, you know, I was always aware of it. And, you know, it's horrible what happens to these girls, as well as the way... And, you know, when Kevin Estrada, you know, approached me with this idea of performing at the show and, you know, helping them out with it, I was like, man, you know, this is a good thing. So, I agreed, and here I am. And also, you know, I have a 13-year-old daughter. And, you know, it's horrible when a parent, you know, realizes that the child has disappeared. And, you know... You know, one of the things... Go ahead, Dave. No, what I was going to say is one of the things that's most traveling here in the United States, I mean, this is an international problem, but it's also a United States problem. A lot of people... A lot of people... A lot of people... Yeah, a lot of people don't realize that. A lot of this, like, cheap labor that's going on within the United States is affiliated, in some cases, to human trafficking, where people come in here illegally, and then they're forced to be, like, slaves, literally. Yeah. This is an event that's going on April 11th. This is at Palladino's. This is an event brought to you by Kevin Estrada, who's a world-renowned photographer. This is Palladino's. Let's just listen who Dave Lombardo is going to be jamming out with. He's going to be jamming out with Phil Sandoval from Armored Saint. He's going to be jamming out with Robert DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots, Gonzo Sandoval of Armored Saint, Chris Broderick of Megadeth, and Burton C. Bell of Fear Factory, and a whole other array of local great artists coming together for this event, man. So, I think that's great that you're a part of this, Dave. Dave, Sunday. Yep. You're going to be... You're going to be... You're going to be... Sunday. Yep. You're going to be playing... The film is going to be playing at the world-renowned Rainbow, celebrating their history. How do you feel about that? Yeah, it's a lot of fun. You know, I've been going to the Rainbow now, you know, probably for the past few years, you know, more than I ever have before. You know, and I have a lot of friends there. You know, the owner, he's a great guy. And their staff, you know, they've been always, you know, cool and, you know, when the opportunity came up, I was all for it. You know, it's a fun... It's going to be a fun day, especially with all those other guys. One of the things that I've always... One of the things that I always admired about you since your departure from Slayer is the fact that you've musically gone on to play with so many different artists. As we mentioned before, you've jammed out with Fantomas. You've done your own projects with Grip and now with Film. Film, by the way, is an... It's an exceptional band because the new Dave Lombardo fans get to see your other side of your percussion talents in film. But let me ask you this. What artists have you not played with that you want to play and record with? Oh, man, there's many. There's many. It's limitless, you know. And I don't know. I don't know. Right now, I have my plate full with what's happening. You know, with several, you know, projects that I've got going. And so I don't know. If something else comes up, I don't know if I'm going to be able to take it because I'm already, you know, pretty busy. You know, are you actually right now in a whole other high band now that your, you know, your departure from Slayer, unfortunately, has come to fruition? Are you excited now to be jamming out with the different diverse artists, man? Absolutely. Yes. Several shows lined up with John Zorn and Bill Laswell, which is my avant-garde jazz side that most metalheads or, you know, fans don't know of. I have to stop. I'm a quiet fan. Yeah, that stuff is pretty crazy, you know. And they think metal is hardcore. This stuff is like you really, really have to have some serious, how do you call it? G. I can't think of the word. You just have to be patient with this music. Are you right now in a whole new other level as far as a musician where you're inspired creatively and, of course, musically with your talents? Yeah. Yeah. And now I could express that in many different avenues. And, you know, because Slayer is only one formula. So it really doesn't leave me much room to grow. Because, you know, all they expect from me is, you know, to have a couple of days to crash beats and crazy rolls. You know, so, you know, play with other bands, you know, definitely lets me be a little bit more creative. How excited are you to have Bill Ward officially come out and say that you're a fucking talent, not only in the underground, but in the mainstream, man? I am so honored. That guy's been so cool. It's Bill Ward, dude. It's Bill Ward. I know. I know. He's a big influence to me. I remember playing his songs when I was, you know, probably 16, 17 years old in my garage. You know, playing along to Iron Man and, you know, War Pigs. You know, all those classic albums. So for him to say something like that about me is phenomenal. I'm really honored. He's a great guy. Yeah. Fucking A, man. That's awesome. More power to you, man. Talk to us about film. What's going on with film? I know that you're... I know that you're playing two shows, as I mentioned. Are you recording any new material? Oh, we're always writing and we're always recording. We have Fresno coming up the day after this upcoming show, April 11th. We have Fresno on the 12th. And then on the 13th, we have the Rainbow Show. We have an album, which is ready to be released. Right now, I'm working on the deal. To release the album with this company from Germany that I'm affiliated with. And hopefully, you know, we can set up some tours and, you know, start playing around town a little more often. Are you... How do you feel having your loyal fan base, young and old, support you throughout this whole Slayer tragedy, man? You know, it seems like that I do this... Hello? Did we lose him? Did we lose him? Did the NSA get involved? Uh-oh. Why is that Slayer mafia so potent? Jesus Christ, man. Are they a film... Of course. Yeah. Why don't we listen to some film? Before I mention this... Wow. Fucking NSA, man. All right. I'm not joking. You know, C-12. Anyways. Here we go. So, Sunday, April 13th, we mentioned the poor kid's fiasco. This is fucking really great. Right next door, for those of you that like to be hip and party at the Rainbow, go on down there, man. Fucking invade and saturate that place. Because Phil... Wait, Phil? What the fuck am I talking about? Film. Dave Lombardo from Film is going to be there jamming out next to Heretic, Bitch, Bullet Boys, Grey White. Tracy Guns. Yeah, pretty cool. It's going to be a great show, man. Go see. Go see the film. Go see him. Film is a sick fucking great band. And then, you know, bounce back to the fucking Roxy and go support the poor kid's show. All right. Let's get Dave Lombardo back on the phone. But let's listen to some music. Hands up, Jenny. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. The eyes, blinds are from the age Gaining up in the powers of desire Dreams, chains of things to come Everything in your mind has just become grey Colours are to burn, colours are right All the time Sorry is the word, it's a statue of All the mean ones to our generation All, all is nothing said Nothing heard or felt that stays in my breeze Breathing all in fire Flames pushing the visions of the way Kiss, kiss into my heart This way I can always understand All that's in my heart Forever to die, forever to die And just become grey Colours are to burn, colours are right All the time Sorry is the word, it's a statue of All the mean ones to our generation Dreams, chains of things to come Everything in your mind has just become grey Glder is bringing home home We'll be right back. We'll be right back. It's called Film, which features Dave Lombardo along with Gary Nessler and Pancho Tomaselli. They're going to be playing. This is very important. For those of you that are Dave Lombardo fans, which is all of us, make sure you get out April 11th to Palladino's. This is going on in Tarzana. This is a benefit for rockers against trafficking, a benefit to end human trafficking. That's a very noble cause. That is more rampant than you know. Make sure you go and check that out. This features Chris Broderick from Megadeth, Gonzo Sandoval from Marble Saints, Robert Tello from Stone Temple Pilots, Burton C. Bell from Fear Factory, and Phil Sandoval from Marble Saints. But most importantly, Dave Lombardo will be also featured in this benefit. What a great cause, man. I got to tell you, dude. Dave, you there? Pretty good. Yeah, man. I'm here. I'm sorry about that. I'm driving, you know, going through the hills here. So if I, you know, get disconnected again, give me a call back. Absolutely. One of the things that I got to tell you is since I've seen you perform with film, there seems to be such a happiness and sincerity with you, man. Like, it seems like you really do enjoy playing with these other two individuals. And to see you so masterfully perform. Your talent outside of the quote unquote speed metal is incredible, man. How do you feel about playing with film? Oh, it feels good. It's like a breath of fresh air, you know? I mean, like anything, like any job, you know, you get, you get tired of the same old thing, you know, and it happens with bands as well. You know, I could not be playing, you know, in that other band before. I was in the player, played with them like 20 of the 30 years. And, you know, I'm not going to lie. You know, it's, yeah, you do get a little, you get a little burned out. But, you know, this is definitely a breath of fresh air and I love it. And, you know, it goes with every project or band that I'm a part of. You know, I'm just as excited. Yeah, I really like, I really like when I see you play, man, because it just seems like there's like a stripped down, just honest sincerity about you when you're jamming out, man. So you mentioned. Yeah, I love that. My drum set is definitely stripped down, you know. So, you know, I'm down to a four piece with film, but I think I'm adding a double bass real soon. I can't resist. I have a question, Dave. Out of all the projects you've done, I mean, it's one thing people challenge, like the metal stuff, or they say that the metal stuff you do is pretty challenging. But I'm a fan of what you did with John Zorn. I mean, how much, I mean, what's the challenge difference between playing? Someone with someone like John Zorn, as opposed to, you know, all like the standard rock and roll metal stuff that you've been playing? Well, as John Zorn's music, it's what we do on stage is we improvise. So there's no set formula or song structure that we perform. So everything that happens on stage will happen only that one time. It'll never happen again. Yeah. It's the beauty of improvisation. So all you have to do during a show like, you know, with Laswell and Zorn is you have to listen. You have to listen to what they're doing. Like, well, right before we go on stage, no one knows what's going to happen. Zorn usually decides on who's going to go first. Like this last show we did in Australia, you'll say, you know, I said, okay, who's going to start? And he said, all right, we'll have Laswell start. You know, have the bass player start. And then it went on from there. And we create these little moves, these little song movements. And, you know, that lasts probably about five to ten minutes. And it's all improvised. And it's beautiful. It's brilliant. I love that artistry. And then, you know, in a regular metal band, you know, everything is structured. You know, everything has a place. And, you know, there's really no room to, you know, to really, like, branch out and try something new. So that's really, that's basically the difference. You know, one's a little more restrained. And then the other one is there's more freedom. Nice. Now, in the media, it's been said that you have officially said that you don't see it probable for you to ever play with Slayer. Is that really true? Yeah, I hate to bring it up again. I mean, I don't want to be the one bringing it up because it seems like the media is just, you know, taking that and running with it. But, yeah, that's what I feel, you know. So there's really not much I want to say. I really don't want to tap into that anymore because, you know, as far as I'm concerned, it's over. I think if you don't mind me being very blunt and honest with you, I think that you are the victim of what is what we refer to now as the industry. And it's a prime example of artists. And bands that come together and then the music and the money go separate ways, man. I think it's a tragedy. But I also admire the integrity and the artistic expression that you have to move forward. And let me mention this. Film. For those of you that have not watched this film, this is really, truly, especially the Dave Lombardo fans. Go see film. Not only can you see this man perform his godly talent or satanic talent, but. You get to see it stripped down. April 13th. This is for free. This is at the Rainbow. This is a party in the parking lot. You get to see Dave Lombardo from film with a bunch of other great bands. And this is for free. But before that, this is most important. Rockers Against Trafficking. A benefit to end human trafficking. This is going on April 11th at Palladino's. This is brought to you by Kevin Estrada, who is a world-renowned photographer. And he has an array. Of phenomenal artists that are going to be performing for this benefit, including Dave Lombardo of film. Dave, I want to thank you. Number one, again, as I said, for being a gentleman and true class act, you are truly you are truly talented. My friend, your your work speaks for itself. For those of you that need more to come. Absolutely. Yes. You know what? And that's what we want. It. Come here. And that's what we admire about you the most, man. Is. That you've not only stayed productive, not only have you stayed busy, but you've gone on and done your thing. And it's great music. So we commend you on that, my friend. Thank you. Thank you, Dave. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us, man. OK, man. Cheers. You guys. Very soon. Bye. Cheers. All right. Let's listen to some other work that Dave Lombardo has done. Hands off, Jenny. Hit it. Hit it. We'll be right back. So just take your time. Oh yeah, that's good. Cause too much of a good thing was always misunderstood. The most important thing is that you blow your seat. Now watch it. Roar! Roar! Run, run like a racehorse, run You're coming down on the floor It's not at all what you need so bad But now you always want more So just take your time Oh yeah, that's good I know you wanna be I know you wanna be!
