Troy the actor And this is from an actor's perspective So this week I'd like to speak about A BET movie That I recently had the pleasure to enjoy It's entitled My First Love Written and directed by Mark Harris Starring Pooch Hall One of the original cast members from the game I think his His title was Duran Yeah, yeah, yeah And And Gabriel Dennis She's also was in the game Of course She played as Janae on the game So The movie directs his attention towards Like recently married couples And their trials And their tests to sustain the relationship Right And the movie also co-starred Carl Anthony Payne Cole From the self-titled Martin Lawrence show Martin Yeah You know And Cockroach Cockroach Right, and Cockroach from The Cosby Show Cockroach So The movie, man I mean I was like I was really impressed, man It was indie You know, BET picked it up You know, and the acting was excellent You know, the storyline was excellent I think I really appreciate them taking the time Just to show about just relationships And a lot of the new couples are unsure Of how to move forward And how to keep things together Right, right And a lot of times you're unsure Of what is the correct thing to do You know, thinking about your partner And keeping everything together And it's difficult All relationships are difficult You know, they always say that When you get married You have to pass that 10-year mark To say you actually made it Besides that 10 years? Mostly before Within them 10 years So it did touch on a lot of that And it's really emotional They did an excellent job So I'd like to give them A three and a half salutes Three and a half Three and a half, baby Boom, boom, boom You did an excellent job there To Mark Harrison To Pooch Hall And And so if anybody has any other projects Or any movies, TVs, films You can feel free to reach out to your boy At TroyWilliamsTheActorAtGmail.com That's right This is Troy the Actor And this was from an actor's perspective We'll be back after this musical break Indy Face Radio 1 All right Don't just talk to me Don't just talk to me Don't just talk to me I'm what goes through your mind when you wrecking your car. Some people think I'm long ahead, but yo, I'm not that far. I'm the only thing that hits you when your body gets old. I can separate your mind from spirit, body from soul. It's a billion ways that I can creep inside of your house. I can take you while you up with your fam or sleep on the couch. My mission is to make you mad, make you sad, make you ask the deal or why he took your dad. Yo, I can steal you from this earth with a knife or a gun or even from a heart attack. In the morning when you run, my only goal is to take your life. I'm nothing nice. I'm everywhere, but I never get you twice. There's no exceptions to my rules. I can get you while you dreaming, cleaning, or just relaxing in the evening. Psychics try to predict my future, but they never on time. I'm the reason behind the line when it's your time, it's your time. I lurk on crime. Scenes, but nobody knows I'm there. I'm behind the mom holding the sun, shedding out tears. I'm feared by many, but I'm hated by most. Everybody knows my name. Some see me through ghosts. I can make a happy home, sad, lonely, and cold. Take your daughter out of a crib when she's five months old. For those who oppose, I get them in the worst ways. Homicide, suicide, watch out for that train. The good, I get them young, handsome, and pretty. Delivering AIDS and cancer. All before that. At the age of 20, I can send you to the Lord. Or send you down to Lucifer. I'm the hardest thing in the world to get used to. A lot of people hide from me. Hate me, despise me. Die with their eyes open, cause they recognizes me. A coward dies a thousand deaths, a soldier dies once. Everybody gotta go. You ain't even got a choice, I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead. trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. I have cried all night, trying to make me feel better. I recognize my pain. Things are getting harder for us to be in this love. And my tears wash away my smile. And I'm drowning in my sorrow. There's no hope for two. There's no day. I can't see my tomorrow. Cause we are no longer in love. This love. Your love. My love. It used to be all I had. This love. Your love. My love. My love. It used to be be your baby. I've been placed all day Dreading confrontation I've waited until now For this conversation to take place That went waste and time With this love I'm trying to be nice Don't want you to be a hater We've had our beautiful songs So we gotta be one soon or later Cause we got so much more Than this This love Oh yeah My love My love Used to be our love Used to be our love My love Used to be our love Used to be our love You're my love You're my love Oh Can we still be friends? Can we still be friends? It will all end in tears If we decide to leave or stay I'm so confused I can't go on this way I just can't go on On this way Can we still be friends? I love this love Used to be your love Used to be my love What happened to my love, baby? Yeah, yeah Whoa, whoa, no, no Now we gotta think about our sons Cause I know it's over, babe I know it's over, baby Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness Real deal, thickness type of stuff so he had like his own studio so when he told me he was just like yo you could record with me like i'll help you out you know i'm saying that's where i don't get that yeah that's around the time yeah i owe a lot to him you know i'm saying so that's around the time where i was like word like i gotta take this really serious you know i got a studio he can help me you know i'm saying record i got all i'm luckier than most you know i'm saying so most people gotta buy all this and i have it here so uh musical influences you know since uh you know alluded to uh you had a little taste of uh rock so any genre of music just give me some of your musical influences uh tell me some of the people uh i wouldn't say idols but people that you look up to man i like uh i like common as a lyricist i really like common he's super dope i like common i like jay-z of course you know not not i love his music but i love more what he did you know i'm saying like coming from the projects and like doing all that stuff so that's something to look up to you know i'm saying and i look up to like those are like the famous people that i look up to i like also like like talib quali and like okay that type of music is what i'm really into you know i'm saying and like also a conscious yeah that conscious and like what made me because i used to rap kind of like dumbed down in a way you know i'm saying like trying to like like amigos sort of style when i was first coming up you know i'm saying like trying to rap like kind of like like different than most but like well who helped me like who let me notice like yo using big words as cool as like drake you know i'm saying he he let me know like yo you could use big words and you could talk a certain way and be cool about it you know look look if you're gonna do it do it you know don't ever dumb yourself down yeah yeah exactly don't do that yeah exactly exactly why because i don't see what the benefit of that is you know there was none so that's why i was like yo i gotta take a whole completely different route with this you know i'm saying and then he's i saw him doing what he was doing and like he was cool with the chicks and like it was cool he could actually rap so i was like yo so that's another person like up to and like you know just like my moms and stuff man like so 19 let me ask you this do you do you think at the age 19 that you got a full grasp of what this music industry not at all i'm glad you said that i'm glad you said that i think because if you would have said yes i would have been saying there's no way yeah no i don't think so at all i've been in the music industry i've worked for music labels i've had my own music video show i've been on tour with a lot of people um i've done so many different things i've been promoting yeah i still don't know everything about this damn bit i don't think you can i don't think that's ever like you can learn it you know what i'm saying i think there's so many every time that you learn something i think there's something new that comes up there's something else that you got to learn and there's just so many things that like it's growing so fast you know i'm saying not even like the music industry just everything you know music wise it's just growing so fast so when one thing kind of dies down and you learn that there's this new thing that you got to learn you know what i'm saying so i'm you know you're wise at 19 dude thanks man because if you would have said yeah i i i got it on lock i'm growing every day man every day go to commercial break so yeah yeah you know i do a little testing sometimes it was so good so um you got a current project i got a current project that i'm working on right now right now i'm just releasing my singles to try to you know just build a buzz even further than what it is now you know so i'm just trying to release singles and mad videos and just like things of that nature you know i'm saying to just create that buzz active on social media yeah i'm active on social media on instagram at jace's wavy on twitter at jace's wavy okay yeah i'm and i just did a video asking edgar roe as i was telling you yeah i just i shot a video now you know we play videos as well so get that to me yeah i got you i got you get it to me man yeah um a lot of people really don't um really piggyback off that i i've told several people if you got a video slide it to me man yeah because visual is it's winning yeah i mean i could play your song all day and that's great but if you got a visual slide it to me yeah i've noticed that too like my songs they'll get like the videos to my songs they'll get a bunch of views you know i'm saying and if i release something with just like artwork behind it it does good but not as good as the videos you know what it's still it's still the um it's still an old formula of you know you have to be in a in a in a consumer's mind frame yeah okay so if you if you have a song and i can love it all day i can know the words whatever and um i don't get a full grasp of what it is to be you the artist yeah until you put out that video exactly and then i could have had a oh so that's why he was going with that you know i never really pegged it but now that he put it in visual form okay yeah you see the song in a whole different light yeah that's that's i've always said that i think nowadays since there's so much social media and there's videos and all i think people buy into the artist more than they do into the actual music let me tell you what i mean by that i mean like if people see an artist right and they like him and they'd be like yo this guy's like a nice humble dude like you know they just like his character and who's he's trying to be or who he actually is i think people will support his music and i think people will support his music and i think people will support his music and i think people will support his music and i think people will support more than if they didn't know who he was you know what i'm saying like i feel like people buy into the artist more like people want to support you because of who you are nowadays not really because of your music like like there's artists out there and i don't want to mention any names but there's artists out there that are just whack to me but i'll go like on their instagrams and i'll see it and it'll be like and they're just whack to me but i'll go on like their social medias and stuff just to see and then people will comment like yo i don't like your music but you're a dope person so i'm gonna check out what you got you know what i'm saying i got you i got you so yeah but yeah man just working so you're loving out here man yeah loving it out here in l.a so um uh what's your whole take on um you know i there's so many cats i know we've had this conversation um on this show in in previous uh discussions that i had about about mixtapes um um you believe do you believe in um giving out free music absolutely i don't think i don't think okay i don't have a problem with it either but there's some people who've been in the business even longer than me who don't see that like why would these young cats give out free music it depends on who you are though like because if you're a jay-z and you're like or one of those guys you know the like a naz or something and you're giving away for music then yeah it's kind of like you bugging to people in the industry you know i'm saying to the fans we loving it like okay cool but i'm saying if you're an upperclassman you're giving away for music and you're giving away for music and you're giving away for music and you're giving away for music artist you have to give it away nobody's going to buy your stuff if they don't know who you are but i have a question i got a follow-up question now because i've always said okay so and i don't have a problem with it yeah you can do what you want i think it's great but i'll always say so if if an artist is known to putting out albums on a regular and then in between there he throws in a mixtape the question is does he hold off on some of the great stuff And put it on his album Versus the mixtape How does that really I mean Cause like If you put out the mixtape And then you put out an album Three months later Yeah Did you hold off The good stuff I don't Yeah yeah I get you I think I think just As an artist You just gotta come hard All the time You know what I'm saying Mixtapes Albums I don't care if it's a feature You gotta wanna Be better and kill everybody You know what I'm saying So you don't believe in the In the In the theory That mixtapes are Primarily Throwaway songs I don't believe in Slacking off period I don't think If there's If there's a throwaway song Then throw it away You know what I'm saying Like don't keep that Don't put it out I know that's right You know what I'm saying Throw it in the trash And keep it moving Like your stuff Always has to be hot From mixtapes From everything To everything you do It has to be fresh You know what I'm saying You gotta look As representable You know what I'm saying Alright Yeah Well I'll take it up man We We here chopping it up If you wanna chime in 1-800-893-9999 562 1-800-893-9562 You can get it in Ask any questions you want But I tell you what I will throw something at you Let's say I'm gonna throw a scenario at you Alright Let's do it Let's see how you handle it I like scenarios Okay Okay You are A victim Recording artists Okay You're doing what you need to do Okay You got a team of folks You know I mean You're just The label got you just You're surrounded Yeah Okay Okay You wake up one day You find out your schedule is full You got a lot of stuff to do Your itinerary is packed Okay You got the mad flu Or whatever the situation is Okay Where you can barely get out of bed Okay Okay But you decide to Go through it You're going to 106 and Park over here You're doing a radio video over here You're doing Shulling back and forth Barely a week Yeah You got fans coming up on you Want to get an autograph And you're not And you're not You're not feeling You're not feeling good In between that Yeah But they still They still want autographs Uh huh They want to They want to get a piece of you What do you do? I give it to them Yeah You do it I'm there because I'm at that point I'm there because of them You know of course God helped me pave the way And get to where I am now But when I get to that level It also has a lot to do with God And my faith But I'm there because of them I can never look somebody in the eyes And be like Yo I don't want to take a picture with you Especially if you got A piece of my work with you You know what I'm saying But physically You're not feeling good But hey I'm just letting you know That's the I'm painting a scenario for you That's fame though Okay That's what comes with fame You know you might have to You know you might have to miss A Christmas here You might have to do Miss a Thanksgiving here But that's That's the price of success You know what I'm saying You gotta keep it working hard But yeah I give them what they want man Keep that mentality Of course Okay It's hard to get caught up In this business Yeah Because I wish that A lot of artists Can go back And rewind And see themselves I mean really see themselves When they was When they started out Yeah And really humble Yeah And somewhere Along the line Through the ladders of success They lose that I think I think They lose it Yeah I think people forget Because people let them forget You know what I'm saying I got people like My manager My producer Hiroshima And I got like My mom around me all the time And like you know Just different people around me That don't let me forget Like yo Yeah You came from this Don't ever think That you better than this You came from this You equal to everybody You gotta treat everybody The same from the fly on the wall To the CEO of the company You know what I'm saying And that's just how You gotta look at things Well I'll tell you what man I'm sold I'm sold I wanna hear some music now Alright So I'll tell you what We're gonna take a break man And we're gonna chop it up On the other side of this But on deck man We got your song man Dreams that you slid to me I loved it Why don't you tell The viewing audience About Dreams man And introduce this man Okay Dreams Dreams is basically Just a record That we did Just basically What the title is You know Just Dreams And I'm like It's not It's not a record Like the content of my lyrics May be talking about Like higher things You know what I'm saying Like jewelry And things like this Of course But I'm not talking about it In the nature that I'm flaunting it And I have it I'm talking about it In the nature like I want it You know what I'm saying Like this is what I'm going for Like I'm going for Success A better house A better this A better that You know what I'm saying Like this is what I'm going for It's featuring Mally Stacks He's from New York City Okay And he's a really dope artist He helped me out on that hook Got it back to me quick You know he helped me out And it's just a really dope song Dropping J's Dreams Featuring Mally Stacks Let's go Let's go They askin' who the illest Madigan's like, you the illest Took it back to 95, simply cooped a villa I know the image hurts, hope you got soup to heal it Ridin' the newest Benz, it's rockin' the newest lenses Old pistols with new extensions, just lovin' the new attention Youngin' with so much life to live, it's like a new existence Count money, puffed razors, they finna know it's a shit We caught all in my watches like a young Frank Sinatra My goons come with masks on, Phantom of the Opera Turks and Kinkos and Miami, baby, I got options And the money stay on loan, baby, you can check the posture Hiroshima, Tesla speakers, khakis and red Adidas Sit back and I'm playin' Marvel and puffin' the best of shishas In hell and the best of tea, but these brothers don't wanna leave us Got fearin' and true believers like Martin, I'm just a dreamer So I dream still, cry the pen and let the ink spill And for my mans that couldn't make it, I just let the drink spill And like the rooms in the hotels, boy, we keep some keys still Cause faithfully, the faith ain't payin' bills, so we just stay real Let's just start position, the functions ain't sufficient Reality seems far from all the stuff that we envision But I'm not a fan of the old, I'm not a fan of the new And honestly, I hope the light just really isn't fixin' Cause the stuff I did in dark, I think we're good intentions, that's real I live in the life that I always dreamed about Ride around in my dream car, woke up in my dream house I live in the life that I always dreamed about Ride around in my dream car, woke up in my dream house I live in the life And the joint is on tight, pour it on spray Traveling the baggage like it's just on flights I'm the hottest, eggin' out, it's like it's just on ice And still keep the modes on me like it's just on pipes Cause this stuff won't last forever, but I just hope it does They say they miss the old school, and this is close enough And I'm just coming out my city, it's the sound you're supposed to love But the way I treat the music, it's like I don't really f*** love with me But get used to it eventually, I hope I hit the standards That my moms and friends set to me I hear the talkin' and the gossip, they don't really get to me I'm just a plain reflection of what you think it won't get to be Presidential shit, Hillary Frankie like the E-Duff celery Blast the beat that I can party, put it in a symmetry And after all the work, I just plainly hope y'all into me I live in the life that I always dreamed about Ride around in my dream car, woke up in my dream house I live in the life that I always dreamed about Ride around in my dream car, woke up in my dream house I live in the life that I always dreamed about Bright lights and bad n***a, I'm f***ed with glass figures I never dreamt of Ferraris, I dreamt of that ass in them Cause they ain't want you when your salary's low And all my n***as got the green like the batteries full Cause the paper is all timeless, the faces is all diamonds Had to f***ing get me praying till I feel like they all mindless I'm the young hustler, n***as like me been involved I'm on the block with monsters, teens doing thriller walks Like you ain't came up with the cash yet I've been bustin', I ain't came up with the dance yet I'm still thuggin', see the heat'll make his pants stretch And still buggin' like you ain't become a man yet And I just became a true man Still in the hood like fool stamps And still broke, I think of dreams I never fly But I slowly made it out and I just gave you peace of mind I live in the life that I always dreamed about Ride around in my dream car, woke up in my dream house I live in the life that I always dreamed about Ride around in my dream car, woke up in my dream house I live in the life Like Like Like Like Like Like Like Man, Chase still up in here, man. How you doing? How you doing, man? I like that AMG joint you told me about, though. Yeah, man. You know, first of all, we had some other cats, Altich Haynes. They had that joint, too. Wolf, you just heard. And the West Coast Vet AMG. He bought them. I love that. Ever since he came in here and he blessed us with that song, I've been playing that pretty much every day. Yeah, that joint is hot. Yeah, I like that. Wait till you see the album cover. Oh, my God. It's dope. When's it coming out? This year? Look, man. He need to go and finish it up. And that video shoot for that song? Oh, need to be up in there, AMG. Yeah, I like that. I like that. But before that, we started off with Dreams, man. Yes, sir. That was a nice one, man. Thanks, man. Appreciate it. You did your thing on that one, man. Thank you, man. You did your thing on that one. Thank you. You really did. Let me ask you this. You, have you taken any sort of music courses, business courses that related to music? Nothing. Or do you plan on it? Because you're going to have to know a little bit. Yeah, yeah. You're going to have to know a little something, something. Yeah, yeah. No, I haven't taken any as of right now. But. I was talking, actually on the way over here, we were talking like, yo, I want to start taking like speech classes and like business classes just for speech, just for when I do interviews. Well, you're doing well now. Thank you. I can tell you that right now. You're acing this joint. Yeah, yeah. But that's great though. Thanks. Yeah, I just want to start doing like speech and then I want to do like business classes. I want to get my high school diploma, GED, whatever, you know. Hey, man, that's wonderful. I want to finish up, you know. And that's great too. And study. Study media. Yeah. And because whatever region you're in, they seem to go with certain types of questioning. Yeah. Not to knock my brothers on the East Coast, but that type of radio was a whole lot different. Yeah, yeah. It is different. You know, it's all about them. Yeah. And they seem to, they're a little bit more harder on you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They don't want to cut you down and they don't want to, you know. Yeah. Yeah. Giants? Hell yeah. What about basketball? What about that basketball though? Now, here's, this is where we kind of. I'm a Laker Till I die Okay me too But Yankees fan though Oh come on Me too Yankees strong Let's go Yankees On my block Now They let me slide Because Younger I did like I looked like Nick's look Because I was into Bernard Parks You know But here's the thing I mean Bernard King On my block You had to be A Yankees fan And you had to be A Giants fan Okay The Mets That wasn't going to Mets and Jets That was the other street But on my block Yeah those two You had to be strong Yankees all day Let's go Lakers all day So we need to get back together And we need to get A stronger team Love what the Clippers Are doing Yeah Bow down Yeah yeah But you I won't be wearing any gear No me neither Yeah man But I But I love I want that championship In LA though You know what You know So you know What gives me about LA folks And sometimes I just go on a rant But let me just say this LA people They have two Basketball teams here Right Yeah Yeah I'm a Laker fan Until I die Okay Love what the Clippers Are doing People who were Born here in LA They love both of them So when the Lakers Are hot They were the Lakers When the Clippers Are hot They were the Clippers Okay I get that You're born here I get that I will give you A pass on that Because you know You're born here You can't do that In New York No You can't be a Jets fan One or the other And a Giants fan At the same damn time It ain't gonna work Yeah but the thing is I feel like With basketball Is that gonna work Yeah it's not But I feel like In basketball People just like The Lakers I feel like A lot of people I'm not saying There's people out there That weren't going From the Clippers From the start But I feel like A lot of people Jumped on the bandwagon Yeah they are But I do know Some people who were Clipper fans And the people that I That I know I recognize I say yeah You was with them When they was The Clipper Shippers And they was You know Cause it was shortened To Clippers They used to be known As the Clipper Shippers Yeah And I know people Who was fans When they were The Clipper Shippers I mean sorry That's when you went To go and die I mean When you went To the Clippers You was retiring After that That was it It was gone That was your last stop It was a gateway out Yeah And they were The Clipper Shippers And I still And You get on people's nerves I still call them Clipper Shippers Clippers No you the Clipper Shippers Hopefully Hopefully they take it All the way I want that championship In LA But They're good But Like I said Clippers And Lakers To me Two different franchises I know they play In the same building Yeah But for people Who were born here in LA I give them a pass I say okay I get it You for whoever Is on top in LA I get that Yeah But other cities We don't do that No When you have Two franchises You have to pick dude One or the other It has to be one or the other Oh you Are we gonna make you choose You gonna make you choose Especially with Look I'm telling you On my block You better not Come down the street Wearing no Jets gear You gonna get beat up Every day That's how we did it Yeah Then we gonna make you Like the Yankees That's what it is So I had to get that Off my stereotypical rapper You know what I'm saying But I just want to say Like and let me Let me say Let me give you Reasons why behind it You know I just want to say That I'm real And the reason why I say that Is just because I'm not coming to you With like You know any like Gun talk Or weapon talk Or like drug talk Or any of that stuff You know what I'm saying I'm coming with that I'm talking about Girl, I remember we was on the same page Couldn't ever tell if we wasn't the same age Now we always argue our opinion Baby, girl, why you tripping? It's never like this when we in the same place When we are, it's like we're moving at the same pace I just think we stressing from the distance Either that or you think that you got competition And if you thinking that, then baby, girl, just listen I told you I hold you down I'm out here hustling, trying to get a hold of this town I'm trying to figure out if you gonna roll or let you down Do it really bug you that I roll by the pound? Cause if it do that, Houston, we got ourselves a problem I never changed who I am and I don't plan on starting Don't get it twisted, there's always room for growth But I signed up for a wife, I ain't signing for a coach You ask me why I'm grinding, cause I'm tired of flying coach You telling me you trust me, but you question my mind I'm not gonna let you down, I'm not gonna let you down I'm not gonna let you down, I'm not gonna let you down And I can taste the victory, I see it getting close So be just what I need you to be when I'm feeling low And if it ain't you, I ain't trying to find a ride or die Cause I can't really carry someone while I'm trying to fly And I apologize for all the times I made you cry But if you get to testify, this is my reply Girl, I've been waiting Waiting for you to change and I think I'm asking too much of you I used to be so in love with you But you keep trying to change me And when I don't change, you blame me Telling me I didn't catch up with you Baby, what's up with you? Girl, I remember we was on the same page Couldn't ever tell her we wasn't the same age Now we always argue our opinion Baby, girl, why you so upset? Why you tripping? It's never like this when we in the same place When we are, it's like we moving at the same pace I just think we stressing from the distance Either that or you think that you got competition And if you thinking that, then baby, girl, just listen I told you I got your back So you ain't gotta treat me like I don't know how to act My focus is so specific that if I ain't got you in it You liable to get left on the sidelines, I'll admit it But please don't get it twisted thinking that I don't care Cause trust me, if I didn't, then I would never be there And I ain't saying that it's right It'll never be fair, but I gotta catch this flight So you and me can live this life You say I do it for me, I say I do it for we Maybe I do do it for me, but without you it's incomplete I mean, baby, you the one that seen the vision from the jump I'm just trying to figure out what done changed in these couple months It's got you looking at me like I'm gonna let you down I'm trying to see you happy, girl, I hate it when you found I need you to build me up, not try to break me down Cause the more you try to change me, the less I'll be around And I keep waiting I keep waiting Waiting for you to change it I think I'm asking too much of you I used to be so in love with you But you keep trying to change me And then when I don't change, you blame me Telling me I need to catch up with you Baby, what's up with you? Hello, Chicago! Hello, Chicago! You should just stop that You should just stop that you're not getting away from no gun violence. Wherever you think it ain't happening, it'll happen there. People feel helpless. It's almost like they're hostages in their homes because they go out and they're seeing people lying on the ground dead. A 17-year-old kid, somebody walks up and shoots him in the face. Another person shoots him in the back of the head. People call Chicago Chirac because a lot of kids are dying and nobody cares. 15 to 35 is the highest risk age group. More than 90% were between those age groups and male. Whenever I leave my house, it's a struggle because it's like, man, I may not make it home today. Six-month-old baby was killed. Her dad is holding her. She's shot to death. The guns are being made available through a black market that many politicians don't even exist. It comes from the higher power to us to get to the streets. We don't know where they're coming from. They're here, though. The drugs that we're burning that we're burning that we're burning that we're burning There are drug lords in Mexico from whom many of the weapons and the drugs come from. As a result, you have a lot of weapons that end up in inner city communities. Why was Chicago being ground zero for this? We never know what they might have became. You have conversations with kids and they say, I want that same kind of funeral. I want that kind of casket. I want all white. I want pink balloons. I don't want any crime. So there's an expectation that if it's not me, it's going to be someone I know. We've got to impress upon them the responsibility of a world that would be left in their hands. And they will either be in the hands of the world, or they will be violent savages, or they will literally take a world and take it where it has never been. We are back in the face radio. She bought a terrible tea. That's a fact. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. So that's that. Oh man Like an artist manager That you're trying to do something Now does the name Puffy Yeah Yeah Cause you know And then you know what I love about What I love about Puffy Is he started out in one area right? Yeah Okay But when he saw That the game was changing He adapted and changed with it Oh yeah Other people couldn't do it It was a lot of people that did it Exactly the way he did it too You have your You know your Your Jay-Z's And things of that nature And Um You know You know When they got to the point When they realized that You know It ain't all just about You know Managing artists Going out It's other things you have to do You know Oh yeah You got clothing Brand Cause branding is Is big And And lending And lending your name To a project Is very very crucial Let me tell you Um Why I say that Because You look at someone You remember Cause you know how You always had to have labels That was hot at a moment Yeah Cause you know you had LaFace Records That was the hottest thing That you had Bad Boy That you had Rockefeller You know It was so many Everybody had that time Right Now when Rockefeller Was at his highest You know you had Dame And you had Jay Right Right And they started venturing Out of other things Right You know you had Rockaway That did good Yeah But when they ventured Out into liquor And they had Armandale It didn't It didn't It didn't It didn't Hit The way they thought It was gonna hit Jay-Z Um Is a very Very very good Businessman And He rebounded Did some other stuff But what I like about Puffy Is Everything that he did He Hit a home run Yeah If you know From the clothing To the alcohol To this Everything was So he waited To the right time Because Everybody can't Get into Certain businesses And think Because I am that person That brand Is going to Automatically move Definitely And also You have to partner With the right people Yeah You know And I use that As an example Because Rockefeller was hot And Armandale Never really You know I mean they had it In the videos Pushing it And everything Armandale But it never did Really really Go you know So So! As I look at What you're trying to do Right And I'm like The cat out of the bag It's my nephew So I want him to win I want him to win Yeah For more reasons Than not Because I'm trying to retire I want him to take care of me Yes sir I'm trying to retire I need to take care of the uncle You know what I'm saying? Like, man, this is real. I mean, you know, we've been boys ever since. You got to have it. And then, huh? I said, no, you got to have that instant connection. You got to have someone you can vibe with. It was what it came about. I mean, we just talked to the big guy, really. I mean, I said, his grind actually made my grind go harder. Of course. I mean, I don't mess with nobody who can't teach me. That's one thing about it. That's good business. Or you can't learn nothing from me. And I really don't have a reason to fool with you like that. So, I mean, I learned a lot from Charlie. And I see he going places. And at the same time, I see myself going places. So, I'm going to take my stuff somewhere. He's going to take his stuff somewhere. Right. I'm going to link that up. And then it's just going to be a major success. I see that coming. Okay. And the other person that's online? Yeah. When I met Charles, he was out working. You know what I'm saying? He was shopping about. He was shopping about a show going on for the night. About, you know, my cousins. My cousins have a spot as well. They run. And they do their joint. Like, you know, on the weekends. And it's a record joint. But, of course, Charles knows. Right. I asked him, you know, what's going on for the night? And I said, ah. Yeah. He was like, yo. He was like, yo, this spot's going on for the night. And I told him about my affiliations with these individuals. He was like, yo. I know them. So I was like, oh, word. You know he got the lock on joint. He know what's going on down there. He know what's going on down there. Yeah, in fact. So I was like, yo, that's my cousin. He was like, yo, word. You know these individuals? Of course, you know, not those exact words. Right, right, right. Like, you know, these cats. I was like, yeah. So we linked up. And I told him what I do. And then he told me what he does as a promoter. You know, he's trying to get done and whatever. So I was like, you know what? I'm going to keep close to this guy. You know what I'm saying? Because he's like, give me where I got to get to. And whatever. But we kept in contact. And then from then, we was being real tight about the whole situation. We tried to get done. Then, I'm going to say, he kept in contact with me. I kept in contact with him. He don't know what I'm trying to get. I don't know what new tracks is going on. He don't know what he's about to do next, next move. And then he actually mentioned you. Oh. I'm saying that you. Okay. I'm saying he has. You know, a family member that is into this type of business or whatever. Yeah. And I was like, oh, that's what's up. So I kept real close to him. He was like, you know what I'm saying? Yo, I'm feeling you. He helped me hit the tracks. And we just kept it going from there. Then he told me about this situation. What's going on tonight? What are you doing right now? This is like from way back. You know what I'm saying? So this is like months in preparation of trying to get on the station. I'm saying it's been a while since he's been telling me about this. Let me tell. Let me tell both of y'all something. And this is true. I will always speak the truth. I'm not saying this just because Charles is here and he's my nephew. Based on what you guys just said. Okay. You want to stick with someone who's going to be true. That's going to have your back and going to be 100 with you. Okay. All right. Always. Always do that. Always do that. Okay. I cut for him. Not because he's my nephew. Because I think he's doing something. And I love the fact that he tells me, hey. And I'm going to tell you something else, too. Him being my nephew, over the years, he knows I've been in this business for a very, very long time. Has he? Has he? Has he told me about other artists that thought, hey, this might be it? Yes. I listened to them. It might not have been the best situation. They didn't sound like I thought that they had it going on at the time. So, for me, for me, to embrace you two guys right now, after I've already listened to the music, and he knows my standard and how high it is, that is something that I think you guys need to really, really, really appreciate. The fact that he sent it to me and I accepted it. Because it was some that didn't make it. But it shows his growth as a manager because he knows what I want. Because he sent me some stuff years ago. Other people. And it didn't cut the mustard. All right? So, he went back. He knows what he has to do. And I got full confidence in him now. So, I know right now that whatever he sends me, I'm not going to push it aside because I know he knows the game. And you know what really, really helped him out a lot, though, is that he did the club promotion in San Diego. And that blew up. So, he knows. The ear. He knows what's going on. So, now when he sends me something. And this was years ago. When I was talking about, it was years ago. But, you know, it's a growth period. So, now he's a mature manager. And he knows what to look for. So, when he sends me something and says, Unc, I got it. Boy, boy, let me tell you. Boy, I got something right now. I got something right now. You know what? I say, well, send it to me. Because I know he went through a process. It's a process. Everybody has to go through. And so, now he's went through that. And he knows what's going on right now. And I know what's going on. So, Charles E., we're going to play a little something right now. But anything that you want to say about these two individual artists? Just like their character, briefly. And why did you decide to manage them at this point in their career? Real quick. Yeah, real quick. Real fast. Both of them are great. They're artists. They got talent. You know, I've listened to a lot of artists and a lot of singers, rappers do their thing. But these two guys are amazing. Right. Not just saying that because I work with them, but because I can put their stuff in the CD, in the tape, not the tape deck, but the CD player and ride with it. Right. You know, one thing is, like I said, they believe in me. And that was a very, very important aspect to that. You know, because when I, because when it was through, when it was thrown to me, I was like, damn, I don't know nothing about that. But at the end of the day, these two artists, they're good people. And we're going to go ahead and work with it. We're going to get it done. All right. Well, I'll tell you what. Since I got everybody on the line and I got Charles and I got Troy in here, there's something we was trying to do for. Now, you guys are hip hoppers in your soul, right? Yeah, it's up in there. All right. Don't do that. Hey, hey, hey. I know it's a little late. Don't, don't, don't, don't follow me now. Okay. All right. All right. And then, you know, we got, we got Charles, got me. And well, first of all, I'm, I'm throwing out the questions. And then, and then we got Troy and it's under Troy. Go get something else. I'm going to throw out, I'm going to throw out some famous, some famous, some famous lyrics from some hip hop songs. Okay. Finish it off. Okay. It's going to be very. You ain't got to get them all, but I've been trying to do this for a couple of shows. Okay. I'm going to start it off. And when I finish, I want y'all to say the rest of it. Okay. Got you. You ready? You ready? The best of my abilities. Okay. He said the best of my abilities. I don't know how old y'all are, but some of these, you know, you probably wasn't born. But anyway, here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Okay. So first one. Anybody chime in. Okay. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. The people are here and the people on the phone. Okay. So we're going to do it like this. We're going to do it like this. For the real HuffPow fans. Okay. First one. So after the school, I take a dip in the pool, which is really on the wall. I got to call a TV so I can see the Knicks playing basketball. That's what I'm talking about. Sure, I think you're going to get all of them. Yeah. You should just hang out. All right, all right, all right. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Number two. Number two. Okay, number two. Okay, let me just say something. No, no, but if you know it, because I need somebody, the first one, because I don't need no hesitation. So whoever knows it, please chime in exactly, okay? Number two. Number two, okay? Don't push me because I'm close to the edge. I'm trying not to lose my. All right, all right, all right, all right. Okay, okay, okay. Now here's another one. Here's another one. We're doing big pimping. We're spending Gs. We're doing big pimping BLADs. We're doing big pimping up in NYC. Is this that Jigga Man, Pimp C, and BLB? Come on. Y'all should have had that one. Y'all should have had that one. Y'all should have had that one. Y'all should have had that one. Okay. All right. This is a little long one, but I know y'all know the end. Okay, here we go. Knocked on a door. Hold on, hold on. Let me. I ain't right. He ain't knocking on nobody's damn door. Knocked an old man down and swore he killed him. Then he made his way up to an abandoned building. Ran up the stairs. Up to the stop floor. Opened up the door there. Guess who he saw? I know that's Nick Rick. And this is about the story time. Dang it, though, Chief Shoot. Endo, who don't know what I mean. I don't know. Oh, no. Okay, all right. That was a little long. Okay, okay. Here's a quick one. Troy, you might be the only one to get this one. I walk rough and tough with my Afro puffs. Fuck on with your bad self. There you go. Okay, okay, okay. Oh, yeah. Hair, shoes, everything around me. Cream. Get the money. Get the money. Get the money. All right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right. Rolling down the street. Smoking endo. Sipping on gin and juice. Baby. With my money, my money, my money, my money. All right, all right, all right, all right. Okay, all right, all right. Okay. Here's another one. It's kind of long. Y'all ready? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yo. No helicopter. No helicopter. Looking. Looking for the murder. Two in the morning. Got the fat burger. I even saw the life's of the Goodyear blimp. And they read Ice Cube's little pimp. All right. All right. All right. And then there's three little quick ones. Right. Right quick. Whose house? Von's house. Von's house. Okay. Hold up. Can't stop. Get it, get it. What? What? What? What? What? What? What?. That could have been. That could have been. It could be. It could have been. It could be. We're going with that. No diggity. No doubt. There we go. There we go. Now y'all got y'all hip-hop history. All right. We're going to go on to a little break. Hey, guys, thanks for calling in. Social media, give all that out so people can know how to get in contact with you right quick. Oh, Jimmy, I need to go first. Go on, do that right quick before we go on to this little commercial break. All right, we'll do it. Because you guys are going to be connected after this, so go ahead. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's the only non-local producer that we use on the entire track. And he's also the producer of your favorite track, I Cry. So, it's yours. I love it. Man, I love the hell out of that cry. Yeah. Man, man. Two Wolves is basically for everybody out there with their struggle. You know, we all hungry every day. Two Wolves? Definitely. It's a loop. I don't know what I'm talking about. Like, hey, T, I just want to let you know we got this single out. Boom, boom, boom. And we need to come on the show. And that's what you need to do with someone like me. Because not to say that I forget. Because I have a backup with Corn Dizzy. And he's busy, too. Because he's doing a lot of stuff at CBS Radio. But just keep on me. And just let me know, like, every two weeks. Like, hey, T, we still here. Let me know. And then that's how I know that I need to. Okay, I need to get these guys on. We was booking corn. Myself, Charles E., management, Enigma, OG Million, Big Things Poppin'. Now, let me ask you this, though. In saying that, I didn't want to throw you off. What's up? In saying that, if people wanted to get in contact with you and they are an artist or whatever, give out how they can contact you as well. Oh, yeah. And then do that and then give out your shout outs. And then we can close the show. You can contact me via Instagram, Charles E. Hayes, my whole name. Right. Facebook, Charles Minding My Hayes. Okay. There's two social networks. That's where you can find me. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. Now, say that again. Charles Minding. Charles Minding My Hayes.
