Ten years in the oven, that record.
Exactly.
Let's talk about that.
We will also be talking a little bit about Gary Carl, Gary Carl Jr. We also bring some music there.
What else do we have?
We will talk about the great Mexican composer, Juan García Esquivel.
It's a very good little role that we were given.
And that's one of many, my dear.
That's one of many.
We're not going to be listening to something from him.
The music of the past, futuristic music of the past.
Yes.
I like it.
Yes, it's going to be very interesting, today's program.
What do you think if we start this, which is the first show of Galería Alternativa Radio through Skid Row Studios?
We thank again the people of Skid Row Studios for giving us the opportunity, Mr. Jeremy.
Thank you very much for having us again in this portal, in this place that is Skid Row Studios, here in the center of Los Angeles.
Of course.
Hey, what do you think if we listen to something from the Highway?
Let's go.
This...
This band that...
Los Highway?
Los Highway.
And this...
But it's not written like you would normally write, but it's written High and Los, pues, Way.
Ah, okay.
This is Mr. Poncho, who was part of Santa Sabina.
He's the one who sings this song.
Let's go, let's listen to this and we'll be back full of it with our program.
This is Galería Alternativa Radio, gentlemen.
The first program of the year.
And this is how we started it.
In my country The rich have the power And they're little objects And the caballos The caballos The caballos The caballos For a spark and explode The solution To this absurd situation Is difficult If justice is the condition The police Is the owner of the street The criminals Are the same but apart And the television Does not draw a line From an illusion That is transformed into truth The people will rise I don't know if it's right or wrong Only a pederal is occupied In my country The cops are already thrashing The rich have The power and their little eyes And the caballeros Own everything That's an obsession Our governments Are the servants By tradition Television The police Are the same but apart The solution Is difficult If justice is the condition The solution Is to give the people The freedom To live To live To live To live To live To live To live To live To live To live To live To live To live To live and today starting with this alternative gallery program of today our first program of the year with the pleasure of always being with all of you and my dear money we are starting the year I imagine that you have your little things that you want to accomplish that you want to reach your goals your dreams your purposes and I just want to pass and in 2013 of course all of us have our new year's resolutions one of the things that money proposed that he was going to accomplish this year is I think you already knew it is because right now I am going to change houses we are going to start the year in a new house that was my new year's resolution not to start and start the year in a new place a new job yes and you are not one of those who like it suddenly if I am going to leave this fucking vice and I like it because they will not leave me because I am going to leave them exactly I think that everyone suddenly fights but at first they start like very roosters no I think everyone starts with that no I am not going to smoke and it passed me last year that January is going to be the month where the gyms have more subscriptions exactly and in February it already fell into effect and everyone starts throwing the tamales and then it is not so encouraged and all the tamales and why do I go to the gym again?
There are many people who do stick to their purposes and well, we wish you this now, so a lot of strength so that you fulfill everything that has been proposed to be done during this year, we are going to give it our all this year, that's if everything is for good, exactly, I'm going to look for another job to start, you're not going to abandon us, we're not going to continue with the four that I have and apart I'm going to get another one, I don't fit in right now, I'm done with my third job, it's okay, it's okay, but suddenly the children are already watering like they start to ask you for more and then you have to start giving them no, then, so that's why it's better to get another little job, let's see what we're going to see that we're not really aiming at anything but the truth is I need to do something different, let's see, let's see if someone knows of a decent job like for Boris, please, I just need three days, neither do I go, no, no, no, I'm not going to say I have five days, calm down, let's see, if you have something better behind a desk, we could think about it, well, but there is what is going to happen to him, that is the type of work that I can't just do, I can't really be sitting in a desk in front of a computer, man, it's like anxiety, anxiety and the beginning and you have to be moved, of course, no, it's true, well, it depends on what you're doing behind the desk, no, or it depends on what you're doing, if it's with movement or not, your job, but well, behind the camera, those are the things that we want to do this year, you again make your goals and we'll see what comes out, not if in the end, if already as for November or December, you still feel a loser, it means that you did not fulfill anything of what you wanted, because it is still a light, it is still not all the year, it was only after it ends, it is not for what to change, well, hey, I wanted to comment, I am going to comment first, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh I think we can put it to pirate in some way that is called where we now there I found the song but I have not heard it I have not seen it I do not know what it is then if suddenly yesterday and that is all you are seeing David Bowie if you want the classic David Bowie you have it if you want the most sophisticated David Bowie more than the last albums that he released you have it is like a compilation of his career in a single song exactly on a single album I think people are going to love it and everyone will be super excited about this that Mr. David Bowie is going to present and well, let's hope that now waiting for the turn, maybe you think that Coachella is sold out there, no, I think it is too late for the lineup, yes, I think it has other things to do, for example, because if you are going to release it in March in the United States, imagine that suddenly next month we will wait for you there in Coachella with David Bowie imagine nothing else I think there are several who would really get angry because there are not many people who would give him like a chubby guy or something like that but hey that's on behalf of David Bowie and we also congratulate Mr. Jimmy Page who yesterday was his birthday and he treated everyone like slaves and was born on January 9 around there in 44 in England, look at nothing else, he decided to dedicate himself to music when he listened to let's play house from elvis presley that was the magic moment for him was when he said know that music is mine to dedicate like this and look at what he was locked up as a music studio for a long time until suddenly he let him go out he was recording with people like van Morrison with the Rolling Stones with the king and suddenly it seems that Eric Clapton left a band called the ja se se And that's where it developed until it became part of Led Zeppelin, alongside Mr. John Paul Jones and Robert Plant.
And 111 million albums later.
Imagine, nothing else.
What a great story, what a great artist and the truth is, and Mr. Machin still gives it, that's good that this great artist still exists and that we can still venerate him and listen to his music.
So, if we go with something from Mr. David Bowie, let's put something new.
He had the song from Let's Dance there, precisely.
Do you want us to put Let's Dance or do we go with the new one?
Well, what do you think?
Well, then we're going to put the new one.
We start with the new song.
Jeremy, I'm going to play the new song from here.
And after that we go...
Ah, how about the T-shirts I'm wearing this year?
And after that we go with the song from Led Zeppelin's Immigrant.
This is Galería Alternativa Radio, gentlemen.

A man lost in time Near Cardiff Inn Just walking the dead Where are we now?
Where are we now?
The moment you know, you know, you know 20,000 people Crospers and hookah Fingers are crossed Just in case Just in case Walking the dead Where are we now?
Where are we now?
The moment you know, you know, you know As long as there's sun As long as there's sun As long as there's rain As long as there's rain As long as there's fire As long as there's fire As long as there's me As long as there's you As long as there's you As long as there's me As long as there's me As long as there's fire As long as there's fire The tales of the old Of how we come The times of war We are young Overdose Oh, we see The light in our eyes And we know What is the rest of the show So now you better stop Rebuild all your rumors For peace and trust Can win the day This night of all you're losing Oh, we see Thanks for watching!
all the time as one would like, but there was the song of the immigrant by Led Zeppelin and we also listen to the new thing of Mr. David Bowie called Where Are We Now from his album The Next Day.
I loved the song.
I think you have no idea of, well, I don't know, suddenly that a role like this comes to you and you already know what you expect, but even so, it comes and your head smells with the sound, the way it is made and all that, because the truth has no pressure, right?
In the reviews that I read out there, they say that you can put the album back and forth and you don't get bored.
Really?
That's a good sign.
I think it's a very good sign that they give us with this new album of Mr. David Bowie.
We will be listening to it in rotation everywhere.
This new album will be happening in the next few months.
This album will be happening and turning everyone around with the desire to see it.
I think he is one of the artists that I hope his approach has not been seen ever live.
So I hope that those who do not have to go, I do not have to go and I think it has to happen at some point of the year and take advantage of that we are here on this side, which is when more artists suddenly walk around, they are given to come and take their turn here in this place in the United States.
Well, in the meantime, Moni, you wanted to talk to me a little bit about this Gary Carroll Junior.
I heard it in one of those VH1 that you have to meet the artist, but nothing to do with the channel, right?
He is a guitar teacher and everything that is rock, blues, R&B, soul and a little bit of pop.
And he is a great guitarist.
He is a great guitarist.
He is a great guitarist.
He is a great guitarist.
He is a great guitarist.
He is a great guitarist.

creating sensations.
This sounds very Black-Kiss, very that type, but he alone.
Yes, I don't know, what I was listening to him, well, I already had the opportunity to have listened to him before, but the video that I was watching, I loved it and I loved the wave that it brings, so suddenly you do hear a little more of the blues to the matter, right?
Yes, suddenly as psychedelic as a Black-Kiss or something like that, but what it brings is really very interesting, very interesting what this gentleman brings.
We recommend it to you.
We are going to listen to something from him in a moment, but we wanted to talk a little bit about Mr. Esquivel, who is also a great Mexican composer, that many people have not really taken into account.
We just uploaded a note to us yesterday, we uploaded a note to the channel.
We are going to listen to a note from this great genius who was dedicated to making lounge music, who was dedicated to making futuristic music in Mexico around the 60s and 70s.
And he created many things, right?
He created many sound waves.
It was like when they started to sound movies or television programs.
And even this gentleman came to work, nothing more, nothing less than here in the United States, where he was recognized.
He was recognized a lot for what he did.
He was working on series like Koyak.
I was working on series of that type that required a very special sound and very spatial at the same time.
But it's like jazz combines with sounds from Brazil, the Caribbean, with medium-electronical waves.
That's right.
It's very good.
Yes, and he also made some very interesting arrangements for songs like Kiss Me A Lot.
He made arrangements for songs that were very Mexican.
And that were also like a release at that time.
But the way he made them and converted them, he made them really some great musical pieces.
And look, this gentleman, do you remember?
Do you remember a program called Burbujas?
Of course.
Oh, well, this Burbujas program.
Do you remember the song at the beginning?
Well...
Tatatata...
Tatatata...
Tatatata...
Well, that Burbujas song, look, he was the one who composed it.
Oh, really?
So, even in the introduction of the program or at the end of the program, it says, Original theme, Juan García Esquivel.
Tatata...
Yes, that's right.
Well, this great character, now we have a little bit of space here in this Alternative Gallery.
And we also wanted to play something for him.
Precisely, this note is from the new collaborators that we have in the Alternative Gallery.
That's right.
On the website.
That's right.
I'm having some little problems with my computer here, but hey, there it goes.
We're going to listen to something, if this computer lets us do it, from Mr. Esquivel.
This song is called El Cable.
And if you listen to it, it's going to be very tasty.
Of course, it's great.
Very tasty.
We're going to listen to something, also, precisely, from Gary Clark Jr. And we'll be back with more, with our guests.
Of course.
Them Howling Bones.
They're already waiting for us.
Here in the Alternative Gallery.
Let's go.
Bravo.
Today, nothing else.

Thanks for coming, guys.
Thanks for bringing him.
Thanks for bringing me.
Well, thank you very much.
You should talk it to the mic, boy.
Yeah, absolutely.
So tell us a little bit about your music, guys.
How does it sound like?
Man.
How do you guys start the band?
For me, my view is if it sounds like it came from a Tarantino film, then that's usually the inspiration that I look for.
Because he just chooses the most phenomenal music in all his movies, and I just feel like there's such a vibe to everything.
So that's your biggest inspiration?
For this band.
It's a nice blend of late 60s, early 70s, you know, vibe.
Rock and roll.
It starts with my down-to-earth music.
Yeah.
Okay.
We're not afraid, man.
With some bones and whiskey.
And whiskey.
Drenched in whiskey.
Whiskey is our inspiration, truly.
What's that?
All right.
That makes the inspiration flow.
Absolutely.
The creative process is so much better with whiskey involved.
Or whatever he has in there.
What's that?
Seagrams?
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
Seagrams.
If you're listening, Alan Bones prefers Seagrams.
We do prefer Seagrams.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Thanks so much.
We're in the go with Jim Beam.
It is.
It is.
It's Canadian whiskey.
Yeah.
It's for the poor people.
It's like five dollars.
It's really not.
Yeah.
It's a poor man's hop.
It's like we like to say, a little bit of Monster and a little bit of whiskey turns into another.
That's where I turn it.
I'm always working it.
Yeah.
Well, it says here that you guys are called a blues gang spreading garage, blues rock and, blues rock and roll lurking through the streets of Southern California.
You guys were formed when?
How long ago was that?
Two years ago.
Yeah, around two years ago.
Mitchell was just talking about how he met Pedro.
Yeah.
Please, please.
Please.
Well, I don't know.
He stole me away.
I stole, I stole P.
Yeah, P was in another band and I would go see him at Cranes in Hollywood and I would see him and I would always, every time I saw him, I'd shake his hand and be like, hey man, you know, if you want to start a real rock and roll band, you know, give me a call and we'll, you know.
And of course, I was like, yeah man, sure, for sure.
Yeah.
It never really happened.
It never really happened.
I tried to stick to him, but then I got kicked out.
And then Pedro hit me up.
And then I hit up.
He actually initially called me to join his, his other band, join his other band.
So I had this RE20, the feedbacks, it's crazy.
Oh, maybe that's it.
That's it right there.
And he got kicked out.
He's like, hey man, I have this other band.
And then I went over to the tree house at the time, which was where Mitchell was living.
Beverly Hills.
Where we practiced for a while.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The rest is history.
The rest is history.
Pedro, how difficult is it for you as a paisan or a mexicano?
Difficult as a whale.
Yeah.
It's not difficult as a whale.
It's not difficult at all.
If anything, it just opens more doors and it's actually funner and people get a kick out of it.
Sometimes when you just start speaking Spanish with the English crowd.
Are you teaching them some Spanish as well?
Patrick grew up in San Fernando Valley with nothing but Hispanic people.
So he picked up some of his stuff.
My pronunciation is phenomenal, but my speaking is not so good.
Yeah.
I was listening to your pronunciation.
It's really good.
Thank you very much.
Como se dice?
Como se dice?
I try.
I try.
So where have you guys have taken the van?
Where have you guys have have you guys get out of California yet?
A few times.
A few times.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Played in Williams, Arizona.
But I think we're really kind of still evolving and we're still trying to figure out what exactly our sound is going to be.
And it's really kind of turned into something interesting lately.
So we're going to start recording again and then see where that takes us.
Well, let's listen to one of your songs and then we'll come back and talk more about your new EP.
Okay.
I love you.
Which song you guys want to hear from?
I'm assuming this one's Give Me Love.
Give Me Love?
Yeah.
It's a really good song.
It's a really good song.
Okay.
Vamos a escuchar esto que se llama Give Me Love por parte de Them Howling Bones.
Dame amor.
Y regresamos con más de esto que es Gary Alternativa Radio.
Dame amor.
Dame amor.
Dame amor.
Dame amor.
Dame amor.
Dame amor.
Dame amor.
She keep me loving with my love emotion, yeah Well, now, love me, I'll be your girl I met a girl with a snow-black hair She gives me kisses, say, yeah, everywhere, say Oh, give me love, give me love Oh, give me love, give me love Well, I'm coming for you Oh Oh I'll give me love.
I'll give me love.
I'll give me love.
I'll give me love.
I'll give me love.
Love, love, love, love, love, love.
I'm a man and girl with a show of black hair.
She gives me kisses and I yell, you better say.
I'll give me love.
I'll give, give me love.
I'll give me love.
I'll give, give me love.
Well, now, love me, I'll give you love.
Yeah, I'll give you love.
I'll give, give me love.
And I'll never see your mother again.
Yeah.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching.
But it's very interesting.
How is it for you guys when it's time to make music and when it's time to make new songs?
How hard is it for you?
It's not hard.
It's been really easy actually right now.
It's been...
Yeah, the creative process is phenomenal.
Yeah, it's just one after another.
They're just coming out.
It's either one of us has a song completely finished or one of us has an idea for a song and then everybody kind of puts in their two cents and two cents and all of a sudden the song evolves into something completely different.
Into a real bone song.
We just lock ourselves in a room, a bottle of whiskey.
That's exactly what happened.
That's really what happened.
A week is straight.
It was hard to make your EP.
This is the only one you have, right?
It's the first one you have.
How hard was it to create your EP?
It was really hard.
That was the...
It was really hard.
It was quite the feat.
Yeah, yeah.
We had...
Every time...
There was reasons why we had to start so late.
I was working at a music studio.
We were arranging for film.
We were arranging for film and TV.
So I worked from about 10 to about 9 every single day.
And then...
So I had to wait for these boys to show up until after all my bosses left because it was in secret.
So we had to make sure that everybody was gone.
And then when everybody was gone, we were like, hey guys, now's the time.
So we'd all show up and they'd always show up with a big old bottle of whiskey.
Seagram's Vita.
And I just worked 12 hours.
And unmentionables.
And unmentionables.
And we just laid everything down and it took from...
Usually from around midnight to around 6 o'clock.
6 in the morning.
Sometimes you did the whole thing.
You did the whole mixing.
You did the whole producing.
Yeah, I was a Patrick Pierce.
Yeah.
In a tired, drunken phase.
You know, it was what it was.
In a multi-million dollar studio.
But now, you know, that's the first time.
That's the first time I heard it in a long time.
You know, and it sounds pretty good for somebody who's probably...
Yeah, I like it.
I like it too.
It sounds really good.
Really drunk.
Very interesting.
I also wanted to ask you because there are a lot of bands out there and there's a lot of bands trying to come out with something original or something...
Something new or something fresh.
Especially here in LA.
For you guys, you guys...
Is it more music speaking for you guys or you guys are doing a lot of marketing and promoting and all that stuff?
How's that been working?
Well, it's always about the music.
It's about the creation first.
You know what I mean?
It's definitely the combination of all that stuff.
Oh, yeah, of course.
It's an art form.
It really is an art form.
It's an art, yeah.
But I think for all of us, we kind of understand the effects of music on the people.
So our live shows kind of transcend people's lives.
We don't take people to like a higher place.
We feel like...
I mean, I feel personally that our music kind of takes people to like a party kind of world.
You know what I mean?
Totally.
Yeah, I think so.
And that's truly what I try to do is try to like break through my guitar to the people to start moving some more.
And I'm personally into the marketing thing and like just promoting everything.
Pedro is very good.
He's a good promoter.
Yeah, the Mexicans got to work.
You got to be the one working.
He's so good.
They do the easy job and you do the hard work.
You got to have a product first, of course, and then obviously market it and just find little skimmy ways to try something new.
He has the easiest job in the band.
Yeah, he does.
What's the plan with the EP?
What are you going to do with this EP?
With the EP, it's already out.
We already had an EP release party and everything.
And right now we're recording new music and we're going to release a new album.
Maybe like a new album.
Like a complete album or you guys just want a full album?
It's going to be the first full debut.
We're starting recording right now.
And I think you'll really be able to hear our growth.
Yeah, you'll be able to hear really...
Honestly, I think it's really what we sound like.
All right.
Yeah, I think...
Let's hear one more song from these guys and we'll come back to the end of the show.
We'll say goodbye.
We'll listen to something first from The Mholding Bones and we'll be back with more of this from Galería Alternativa Radio.
